theamazingracesmallLast week’s penultimate episode of the season of The Amazing Race was so tense and put me through a roller coaster of emotions. It was first week that the green team finally lost their lead and made some nearly costly mistakes. For the detour, the teams had to choose between cutting out fabric patterns for a suit or looking through a pile of old cell phones to find one that worked. The cheerleaders, reporters, and paparazzi all went for the former, while the green team chose the latter. The green team got lucky and finished quickly; however, instead of just talking the 2-minute walk to their next destination, they took a cab that ended up driving them around in circles for an hour. And after that, they took the wrong ferry to the next challenge.

At the House of Dancing Water show, one team member had to dive off a ship 30 feet in the air into a pool of water and look for fish. The reporters and paparazzi finished on their first try, but the cheerleaders had trouble finding the fish, and it took 20 minutes to reset the challenge after each attempt. The girls were on their second or third attempt when the green team finally showed up, but they failed again. On the next attempt, the green team found their fish, but the girls did not.

When the green team got to the mat, they discovered they had a thirty-minute penalty for taking the wrong ferry, plus another 25 minutes since the ferry they took was closer. (I think the producers, like us, also really wanted to see the green team gone!) The girls finally completed the challenge but had some taxi trouble, which delayed them just enough to arrive minutes after the green team was checked in.

I was so happy, cheering at my TV, at the chance that green would be eliminated (I can’t stand Justin!) while also screaming for the girls to find that stupid fish! The final 15 minutes of the episode were so tense, and I was so devastated to see the green team make it to the finals. (But Jenny was thrilled.)

Tonight, the final three battle it out to win. While I would be happy with either the reporters or the paparazzi winning – anyone but Justin! – I would prefer the reporters to take home the prize.

On tonight’s episode, “We Got a Chance, Baby! (Long Island, New York),” season 27 ends with the final three teams racing on Long Island, N.Y., to the finish line.

Find out who takes home the prize tonight on CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Undateable, Truth Be Told, Grimm, MasterChef Junior, Bob’s Broken Sleigh, Z Nation, and The Knick.

screamqueens128smallTonight is the big Scream Queens finale, and we’ll finally discover the identity of the Red Devil killer! Last week, it was Black Friday – Chanel’s second favorite holiday – and so at midnight, Chanel and her disciples headed to the mall, where they taunted the other shoppers with their exclusive access to the doorbusters. Meanwhile, Grace, Pete and Wes tried to report Gigi’s murder to the police, but everyone had been fired due to incompetence, and Denise was now in charge! Chanel and the others didn’t leave the mall in time and ended up getting locked in. As they came face to face with the Red Devil, Chanel’s minions took off, leaving her to get shot in the shoulder by a crossbow. Just as the killer was about to make the mortal blow, Denise burst in to save the day…sort of. While she was busy over-explaining everything in great detail, the Red Devil killed her deputy and got away.

Chanel was convinced that Dean Munsch is the killer. and she told the sisters the only way for them to survive was to kill the dean first. So the girls headed to the dean’s house with some macaroons and poisoned cider, but the pufferfish they put in the drink had no effect on the dean. The girls then moved on to other ill-fated plans to freeze and drown the dean, but neither went as planned either.

So who is the mysterious killer – is it even a she like we’ve been led to believe?! Who will live, and who else will fall victim to the Red Devil before the night is over? Will the Red Devil live to kill another day, or will she be caught and pay for her crimes? I can’t wait to see how it all plays out on tonight’s 2-hour finale!

On tonight’s episodes, “Dorkus; The Final Girl(s),” startling confessions lead to the unmasking of the Red Devil and the identity of the killer.

Find out if the killer is revealed tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Muppets, Fresh Off the Boat, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Flash, iZombie, Chrisley Knows Best, and Neon Joe, Werewolf Hunter.

ncisla127smallTonight should be an exciting episode of NCIS: LA. The last episode dealt with terrorist recruitment for Isis. I always love seeing Kensi go undercover, and this was no exception. One of the funniest parts was Callen ragging on Kensi for her messy desk, and it was no shocker that Deeks put him up to it. Other than that, it was an okay episode, but of course the highlight was finally getting to the meat of the IA investigation into Deeks. At the end, he was arrested for killing someone named Francis Boyle. Kensi’s reaction was…weird. There’s really no other way to put it. Hopefully she was just in shock, even though Deeks didn’t seem to be.

I can’t see them making Deeks a killer, not unless it was justified. I kind of want this to go more than one episode because just making it one ep feels like a short payoff for something that’s been hinted at for quite a while now. Then again, I DON’T want it to drag out. Ideally, Deeks would be cleared on tonight’s episode and then they would work to find out who the killer really is or something in another episode later on. So who was Francis Boyle? Deeks’s old partner? I was assuming so (and then the description confirmed it), so…we’ll see how it plays out tonight!

On tonight’s episode, “Internal Affairs,” while Deeks is under arrest and interrogated for the murder of his former partner, the team races to try and prove his innocence. Patrick St. Esprit & Pamela Reed guest star as Lieutenant Bates & Roberta Deeks.

See if the team can prove Deeks’s innocence tonight on CBS at 9:59/8:59c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Great Christmas Light Fight, Supergirl, Cake Wars, Major Crimes, Scorpion, & The Great Holiday Baking Show.

grimm124smallI’m kind of loving Grimm this season. I was so tired of Juliette and the whole story line with her being turned into a Wessen. Nick is harder this season, but I’m kind of digging that – and I love his relationship now with Adalind. We’ll see if she changes personalities again, but as of now, it’s great. On the last new episode, a rich mobster Wessen challenged three other Wesen to compete for his daughter’s heart/hand in marriage. The challenge was they had to kill the man the mobster felt was responsible for his son’s death. The problem was, the men kept getting killed before they could actually kill the guy. It turned out to be the daughter doing the killing, much to her father’s shock. My favorite part was the potential dead man going absolutely crazy when he saw the mobster change from human-looking to his Wessen self. Wu’s reaction throughout the episode dealing with that guy was hysterical, given that he’d been in that position before.

On tonight’s episode, “Rat King,” Nick and Hank are called to the scene when three Wesen go out on a hunt at a local dump and get more than they bargained for when two turn up dead after they encounter the mythical Rat King. Meanwhile, a very badly wounded Trubel (guest star Jacqueline Toboni) is taken to the hospital, and Nick finally meets Meisner (guest star Damien Puckler).

Find out if Trubel survives tonight on NBC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Amazing Race, Last Man Standing, MasterChef: Junior, Undateable, Unforgettable, Truth Be Told, & American Diner Revival.

thewizlivesmallTonight, NBC continues its live musical tradition with a one-night-only performance of The Wiz Live! The Wiz first won over Broadway audiences 40 years ago, when it took home 7 Tony Awards, and even spawned a feature film starring Diana Ross and Michael Jackson. The musical tells the story of the Wizard of Oz, but set to a funky soundtrack, as our familiar characters make their journey down the yellow brick road.

Tonight’s adaptation takes on a more modern feel with the costuming and sets, incorporates Cirque du Soleil acrobatics, and even includes a brand new original song. The production features the first female Wizard, played by Queen Latifah, and the star-studded cast also includes Mary J. Blige as Evillene, David Alan Grier (In Living Color) as Cowardly Lion, Uzo Aduba (Orange is the New Black) as Glinda, Amber Riley (Glee) as Addaperle, Elijah Kelley (Hairspray) as Scarecrow, Common as Bouncer, Ne-Yo as Tin Man, Stephanie Mills (who played the original Dorothy on Broadway in 1975) as Auntie Em, and newcomer Shanice Williams as Dorothy.

While this probably wouldn’t have been my first pick of musical (I would have loved to see them do Wicked instead), I like that NBC is continuing to do these huge live musical events, and it’s always fun to watch these along with the real-time Twitter commentary. I look forward to easin’ on down the road with NBC tonight!

Follow the yellow brick road tonight on NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Nathan for You.
