If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/25/13

I would be looking forward to this weekend, except I’m going to be spending all day tomorrow helping get a house ready to go on the market—painting, cleaning, and so much more. Blah. On the bright side, I have tonight’s line up of television to help me unwind and mentally prepare for the work tomorrow. Let’s see what you should be watching.

kitchennightmaressmallSome would say that Gordon Ramsay is anything but relaxing. I would have to disagree. 🙂 Kitchen Nightmares amuses me to no end, and it makes me giggle with delight when Ramsay has to school people. Perhaps I may be slightly sadistic, but I enjoy watching clueless people learn lessons—it’s soothing. Regardless of why I watch, I find that every episode keeps me interested, and it should be a must-watch for you, as well.

On tonight’s episode, “Olde Hitching Post,” Chef Ramsay confronts the owner of the Olde Hitching Post in Massachusetts, who refuses to allow his daughter and co-owner of the eatery have any say.

To see how Ramsay deals with this control freak issue, tune into FOX at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Kitchen Nightmares @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching Spartacus and Four Weddings.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/18/13

Thank God it’s finally Friday—I am more than ready for this weekend. I have been under the weather with a throat infection and am looking forward to a weekend filled with playing TV catch up and drinking tea. Let’s see what’s on tonight to get our weekends started right.

csiny118smallCSI: NY continues to be my favorite of the franchise; the original has become boring, but the NY team never fails to keep my attention. I hopeful that Mac will finally manage to overcome his memory loss from the shooting, but more importantly that he’ll start leaning on people more. Lindsay and Danny remain my favorite couple on the show, and I love how well they give each other space to grow, yet are always there when it counts. Finally, we have the intricate writing that makes me sit on the edge of my seat week after week. Overall, if you haven’t been giving this show a chance, smarten up and watch.

On tonight’s episode, “Nine Thirteen,” the team investigates when a masked man is found at the bottom of a skyscraper with a history of suspicious deaths.

To see if there’s any connection between all the crimes, tune into CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of CSI: NY @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching Blue Bloods and Fringe.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/9/12

Another week has come to an end, and to celebrate, we should all grab a glass of…(well, whatever you like to toast with)…and toast the weekend. Weekends are full of long, school-less days, pancakes, and of course, it all kicks off tonight with some excellent television. Let’s check it out.

Blue Bloods is one of those crime shows that strives to be so much more and succeeds with flying colors. The money issues that Danny and his family are having are very realistic as to what’s going on in the world today—although, you won’t find as many hard-working officers like the Regan boys. They deserve to make more without moonlighting like Danny was.

On tonight’s episode, “Nightmares,” when a man is stabbed by an attacker dressed as the spirit of death, Danny investigates a voodoo community. Garrett tells Frank about a dark secret; Nicky and Erin take Jack and Sean trick-or-treating.

See how freaky it can get tonight on CBS at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Blue Bloods @ Clicker.

I’ll also be wathing/DVRing CSI: NY, Kitchen Nightmares, Grimm, and Malibu Country.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/19/12

Brrr. The weather outside is definitely turning chilly, but I’m loving it. I don’t want it FREEZING cold, but I’m tired of summer & even fall temperatures. I’m ready for the cooler weather to move in and stick around. It may be Friday, but it’s not a deadly slow night, either. There’s lots of great TV on to curl up under a blanket and watch, so check out what we recommend for tonight. 🙂

Last season finale of Nikita was so exciting and such a game changer. Percy is dead (I mean, we *assume* he is. That was a long fall and he looked pretty dead…but who knows!), Ryan, Nikita, and their group are basically running the “New Division” now, and I have a feeling it won’t be long before see more of Amanda. As for our couples, we have Nikita and Michael, Sean and Alex, and what will happen now after Birkhoff planted a big one on Sonya? I can’t wait to find out. The drama and excitement is sure to be at an all-time high this season, and it starts tonight with the season premiere.

On tonight’s episode, “3.0,” Ryan takes charge of Division with Nikita by his side. Their first mission under the new regime is to bring in “The Dirty Thirty,” the rogue agents who failed to respond to the Division recall after Percy was killed. Unfortunately, their first mission doesn’t go as planned and Michael is arrested, forcing Nikita to change gears and hatch an escape plan for him. Alex reprises her alter ego, the spoiled Russian princess Alexandra Udinov, in a very unique way as part of the plan to spring Michael. Meanwhile, Birkhoff struggles to maintain a working relationship with Sonya, despite his growing attraction to her.

See how Nikita and the team can get Michael out of jail tonight on The CW at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Nikita @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording CSI: NY, Haven, Grimm, Blue Bloods, & Hunted.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/18/12

It’s been kind of a long week for me, so I’m VERY glad it’s Friday! What about you? On a positive note, the networks have all come out with trailers and/or clips for most of their new pilots and some of them look AMAZING. There are others that…well, not so much, but I’m excited for a good number of them! We’ll be watching the screeners as they become available to us and will post our thoughts on the pilots themselves, so keep an eye out! For now, check out what we think you should be watching tonight. 🙂

In what was a surprising move for most viewers, I think, The CW renewed Nikita for next season. I was thrilled because I love this show. It’s been ramping up to tonight’s season finale, and I can’t wait. On last week’s episode, the gang figured out Percy’s weapon, and the President bowed down to Percy’s demands. Nikita had to sneak into Division alone when they discovered the ladder in the silo was gone. Of course things didn’t go smoothly, and when Division guards rushed to where the team was gathered, Nikita told Michael to go ahead and detonate the motherboards they had been after. He had no choice but to do it, not knowing whether or not Nikita was clear of them. Also, Sean and Alex were in a shoot out with Division Alpha team, so we don’t know the fate of either of those two, either. Of course we know that Nikita can’t die…but can the show go on if Sean or Alex are killed? Sure. It wouldn’t be nearly as good, in my opinion, but it could… Eek! I hope it won’t have to!

On tonight’s season finale, “Homecoming,” Nikita and Michael invade Division in an attempt to capture Percy. Alex and Sean get caught in a deadly gunfire battle with the U.S. Marines, and Ryan must convince the President of the United States not to destroy Division until he is sure Nikita and Michael are safely out of the building, but the President is eager to end Percy’s reign. Meanwhile, Birkhoff asks Sonya for help, and Nikita corners Percy in his office, but he pulls out one final trick that may cost her the battle.

Gear up for an exciting finale tonight on The CW at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Nikita @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also going to be watching/DVRing Grimm & Common Law.
