If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/8/13

I love Wednesdays because it’s a neutral day—not the dreadful beginning to the week, and not quite as exciting as the weekend, but it holds a promise of a few more sleeps until freedom from work! 🙂 The other thing about Wednesdays that’s so awesome is that it’s filled with fabulous TV—so let’s cut the gabbing and see what you should be watching.

criminalminds58smallCriminal Minds had me on the edge of my seat last week! Those limbs showing up were nasty—but the woman who just wanted to replace her dead child made me feel sorry for her. Well, I would have felt sorry for her if she wasn’t an accomplice in murder and all. 🙂 The other thing about the episode that really made me sad was watching Reid deal with the dreams of Maive—so heartbreaking. I hope he can move past his grief soon, because he’s causing my tissue usage to go up.

On tonight’s episode, “Nanny Dearest,” the BAU travels to Los Angeles looking for an UnSub who is kidnapping nannies and the children they care for on the same day each year.

To watch the team hopefully kick some UnSub ass, tune in to CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching The Voice, CSI, Family Tools, and Law & Order: SVU.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/11/12

It’s all downhill from here, ladies and gentlemen. We’re mid-way through the week, but there’s still some great stuff on, so check out what we think you should be watching tonight.

Jenny’s Choice #1

My whole family is excited, because tonight is the second season premiere of Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy. We absolutely loved last season. Larry is so damn funny, and he always has a blast, wherever he goes. Some of my favorite episodes last season were Larry learning about Emily Post and all the manners that go along with that history, and the moonshine episode. Of course, I can’t forget about Larry dressing up as a mermaid (or…merman? I guess…) and performing in an underwater show. *snicker* Wherever Larry goes, hilarity is always sure to follow.

On tonight’s episode, “Alaska Road Trip,” when Larry travels to Alaska, he attempts to catch moose poachers in the act, discovers a local legend, and then decides to pay an unexpected visit to Wasilla’s most recognized citizen, along with her family.

Check it out tonight on the History Channel at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/15/11

I know there are a lot of kids off for spring break, so that means there are a lot of parents needing a break. 🙂 What better way to get some relaxation, than kicking back and watching some great television? Let’s see what’s on tonight.

I have been looking forward to tonight’s episode of Glee for a couple of weeks, due to how amazing the newest Glee CD is. The original songs are fabulous, especially Loser Like Me. As far as the show as a whole goes, I have to say that I’ve been surprised at how much I’m enjoying the Puck pairing with Lauren. I am not, however, enjoying the Finn and Quinn hook ups. 🙁

On tonight’s episode, the Glee kids face stiff competition from the Warblers and Aural Intensity (coached by Sue) at the Regionals. To impress the judges, Tammy Jean Albertson (Kathy Griffin) and Sister Mary Constance (Loretta Devine), they decide to perfrom original material.

Tune into FOX at 8/7c and be wowed by the wonderful new music. I know I was. Learn where to find episodes online of Glee @ Clicker.

Interview with Larry the Cable Guy from Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy

Larry the Cable Guy (best known for his comedy stand up, being part of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour with Jeff Foxworthy, and his voice on the movie, Cars) hosts a new show on HISTORY, called Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy. He recently spoke to the press about what drew him to the project and more on the show itself.

Larry the Cable Guy believes the United States of America is the greatest country on the face of the earth, and he’s out to prove it. In this new series, Larry crisscrosses the nation, going totally off the beaten path to find the people, places and things that define this nation’s unique history. From panning for gold in the hills of California to leading a cavalry charge in a Civil War reenactment in Virginia, Larry gives history a fun, down-home twist in the new one-hour series. Each episode uncovers surprising information about America’s history from the story of how moonshine-making during Prohibition gave rise to one of America’s most celebrated past times – NASCAR racing – to the history of etiquette from Emily Post’s heirs in Vermont, complete with a lesson in good manners.

Check out the great answers from Larry below!

On how he came to host

Well, you know, they had called – they had this show, they called my manager, he called me and I said, “Man, that sounds good. I’m about as American as it comes.” You know, I grew up on a pig farm in southeast Nebraska and been living in Florida for 34 years so I said, “This is a show I think I’d like to do.”

I think it’s kind of cool too because I actually have a bit in my act where I talk about how I quit watching the news because the news makes me depressed and it kind of takes away my pride in America. And – because I travel all around the country and I perform in front of thousands of people and there’s good – there’s great people out there. This is a great country and (fans).

So this is a great opportunity for me to go out and do stuff with just regular Americans and just show that there are – that this is still a great country and we have the greatest culture in the world and the greatest country in the world. So it puts me in a great element. I love talking to people. I love hanging out with people and it was a perfect show for me so that’s why I decided to do it.

Not only that, but it gives me a chance as well to do what I do but yet also be myself. So, you know, they’re not all funny. There’s some moments where, you know, there’s some people that explaining stuff and telling me stuff and so proud of something that they start tearing up and crying and I’m able to be myself in certain situations and tone it down a little bit and just enjoy the moment. So I like it for various reasons, but this is a great show for me.
