If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/6/13

Dang, August is flying by. It’s hard to believe we’re already 6 days in. My kiddo is counting down his last week before school starts. I can’t say I’m not doing the same thing. 😉 What about you? Are you enjoying the last few weeks of summer? However you’re spending it, spend at least some of it in front of the TV because of how many great shows are on tonight. We’re here to make some recommendations for what you can choose, so read on to find out what those are. 🙂

Jenny’s Choice

rizzoliisles86smallLast week’s Rizzoli & Isles was actually really funny. Jane had a run-in—literally—with a woman at the coffee shop, and the woman sued her. The department wouldn’t stand behind her because she wasn’t technically on the clock, being that it was 7:59, not 8:00. In the end, it was Jane’s apartment maintenance man and his girlfriend, and it was a setup so Jane would have to sell her apartment and the girlfriend could buy it cheap. As for the case of the week, it was kind of sad, with an elderly man being set up for the murder of his friend. Luckily, the group figured it out and were able to help the guy out. It was hard to watch him talk to Jane because you just had to feel sorry for him.

On tonight’s episode, “All for One,” a popular high school teacher is killed in a hit and run that is clearly no accident. The squad works to solve the case, but Jane is preoccupied with Lt. Martinez’s apparent favoritism toward his own drug unit. Amaury Nolasco guest stars.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 6/25/13

I’m back! It’s been a few days of insanity. From my daughter’s 8th birthday party, to taking my 11-year-old stepdaughter to get her knee operated on, it’s been craziness. Her surgery went well, but it’s going to be a while before she’s busting any moves again. While she’s taking it easy, let’s see what you should be watching.

Megan’s Choice

sytycdlogosmallSo You Think You Can Dance is off to a good start this season, and I’m really loving having Twitch on the judging panel. It’s such a refreshing change. I am also really pleased with Mia Michaels being back, because she is by far one of my favorite choreographers. Last week, we were introduced to the top 20, and I’m happy with the diverse group they’ve put together this season.

On tonight’s episode, “Top 20 Perform,” the top 20 finalists partner up and strut their stuff on the dance floor.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/30/12

It’s the start of another week, and a slow week it’s going to be due to the 2012 Summer Olympics—Go Canada! 😉 Let’s see what’s on tonight for you to watch.

Megan’s Choice

It’s been a rollercoaster ride on Bunheads so far, but an enjoyable one. Who doesn’t love a little sarcasm on their Monday night? I have been really enjoying this show, even though there are times the story line seems discombobulated (hey, it’s a word in my vocabulary). 🙂 Last episode, we celebrated Michelle’s birthday with her friend, Talia, from Las Vegas—but for some odd reason, Truly tagged along. Michelle learned that she loved teaching, giving her a reason to stay in the sleepy town of Paradise.

On tonight’s episode, “What’s Your Damage Heather?” when the dance studio springs a leak, Michelle lets the girls change for class in her house. But when one of them lies about stealing from her, Michelle puts her foot down. Meanwhile, the girls tease Ginny about dating the same boy since second grade.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/9/12

It’s been an eventful weekend for me. I had a few days away, which were amazing beyond description—such a learning experience. Then I attended the fabulous celebration for my best friend’s 30th birthday. Crazy to think in just 10 short days, I’ll be leaving my twenties behind, as well. Eek! To keep my mind off my advancing age, let’s take a look at what you should be watching tonight.

Megan’s Choice

Hell’s Kitchen has always been one of my favorite summer shows, and while I still love it, I despise the contestants this year. The women on this season are incredibly annoying, and I believe that Robyn might indeed be insane. That girl has a huge chip on her shoulder and a temper that adds fuel to the fire—not to mention her sneaky, backstabbing ways. *sigh* I told you I despise these contestants. Robyn and Kimmie were at each other’s throats all service, and basically, it all came down to a showdown with Robyn being nominated.

She was all up in everyone’s faces and telling Ramsay what a good chef she is. Chef Ramsay has more patience than I have because he allowed Robyn to stay but put her on the blue team. I predict she is going to make that team fall apart, too. The drama is by far the best part right now—there’s nothing like someone else’s drama to make you feel better about your own. 🙂

On tonight’s episode, “10 Chefs Compete,” the Red and Blue Teams compete against each other in a challenge that forces them to think on their feet; three special guests attend the dinner service.
