If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/7/14

I’m so glad I’m not in Minnesota. Their highs right now are like -15° to -20°F! Isane, I tell ya. Another thing I’m glad about is that my new laptop SHOULD be here tomorrow. Yay! 😀 And finally, I’m also thrilled that TV is back because there’s a ton of stuff on tonight—including one I’ve been looking forward to most since last summer when I saw the screener: Intelligence. That’s my first pick, so check out our recommendations! 🙂

Jenny’s Choice #1

intelligence17smallAs I said, Intelligence was the show I’ve been looking forward to most for months. The show is about a high-tech intelligence operative (Josh Holloway, Lost) who is enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain. With it, he’s connected to to everything: Internet, WiFi, telephone & satellite data… It’s like…Chuck & Jake 2.0, but not. Leading his team is Marg Helgenberger (CSI), and his partner/“bodyguard” is Meghan Ory (Ruby/Red Riding Hood, Once Upon a Time). He can hack into any data center and access key intel in the fight to protect the United States from its enemies.

I wasn’t a fan of Lost, so Josh Holloway wasn’t someone I’ve seen a lot of, but he’s super sexy and so much fun to watch in this pilot. And it’s great having Marg Helgenberger back on TV after she left CSI. Other members of the cast include James Martinez, John Billingsley, PJ Byrne, & Michael Rady.

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” Gabriel and Riley must rescue the kidnapped member of CyberCom who invented the chip implanted in Gabriel’s brain before the top-secret technology falls into the wrong hands. Meanwhile, Gabriel takes advantage of his chip to search for his wife who disappeared years ago.

See if this new science fiction drama is for you tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/12/13

A week ago, our weather was beautiful, especially for November. Today? Went from 60 at noon, to 38 by 7pm. That is crazy! We may actually have to turn the heater on finally. *laugh* Today isn’t going to be much better, so tonight will be a great night to curl up and watch some great new TV. Here’s our recommendations. 🙂

ncisla1112smallLast week’s NCIS: LA was all about the railroad—a murder on the railroad, specifically. There were a lot of great moments during the episode, including Sam disarming the explosive and jumping out of the way just before the train passed him. But the best part was Kensi and Deeks going undercover. Deeks was priceless playing the uptight, OCD germaphobe. He was great, and the whole part with the two of them in the bathroom, hiding from the railroad lady, was hysterical. I love this show so much. It never fails to make me happy.

On tonight’s episode, “Fallout,” when an antiterrorism device is stolen, the team must quickly find the suspect and the device before an attack is made against Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Hetty realizes the case is bringing her back to someone from her past.

Find out more about Hetty’s past tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., NCIS, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Little People, Big World, The Goldbergs, Trophy Wife, Chopped, Person of Interest, & Chicago Fire.

Interview with Merritt Patterson from Ravenswood

merrittpatterson115smallABC Family has brought another original hit show to our television screens with their newest addition of Ravenswood. From the minds of the executive producers of Pretty Little Liars comes this new drama that is centered on a town that has suffered under a deadly curse for generations. Five strangers find themselves connected by this curse and need to work together to find out about the town’s fatal history before it claims them as well.

Recently, I got the opportunity to chat with Merritt Patterson, who plays the beautiful Olivia. Olivia was once a very happy and trouble-free girl, but recent experiences have left her searching for answers and evaluating what’s important in life.

Let’s see what this talented young lady had to say about her character, the show, and life in general.

Her views on Olivia

Merritt: Olivia and I are really similar, which was great as far as our tendencies and how we deal with things. I think I brought more of a subtle characteristic to her because she is prom queen. And I think when you think of prom queen, you think of over-the-top. It’s in my nature to be a little bit more subtle, so I think I added that to her character.

I like that she’s a very caring person; she cares a lot about all the people around her, and she’s very protective of them all, and I enjoy that about her. She’s not this crazy popular girl who lives in her own world. Yet she’s still homecoming queen.
