If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/15/14

Last Wednesday, I got my new laptop. (Which is great, btw!) Now, 6 days later, my now-16yo got his first laptop. He got money for birthday & Christmas, and between that and money he’s saved, he had enough to pay the majority of it. We kicked in a little as part of his birthday present. So that’s been our night…setting it all up. But enough about my life… Here’s what we’re recommending on a great night of television!

Jenny’s Choice #1

meljoey115smallTonight is the winter premiere for ABC Family’s Melissa & Joey. I’m SO excited for the 2nd half of this season. On the last episode (not counting the Christmas ep!), Mel, Joe, & the kids were in New Jersey, visiting Joe’s family. Mel & Joe ended up spending a…romantic night together, and then Mel kind of ran scared, leaving Joe and the kids to get home together on their own. Lennox and Ryder convinced him to go after her, so he packed them up and they left. When they arrived home, Austin was there with Mel, wanting to give their relationship another try. For Mel and Joe shippers (like myself—surprise! 😉 ), it was killer. But I have faith (& I won’t spoil and say why! LOL).

On tonight’s episode, “A Decent Proposal,” in picking up where the summer cliff-hanger left off, Joe rushes home to tell Mel that he has feelings for her after their romantic night together in New Jersey. When he arrives, he’s shocked to find Austin (guest star Trevor Donovan) has shown up and wants to give his relationship with Mel another try. Deciding he can’t stay and watch them fall in love all over again, Joe quits. Meanwhile, Lennox plots to get Joe and Mel together, and Ryder gets sick from his own cooking.

Find out if Mel makes a decision regarding her love life tonight on ABC Family at 8/7c.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/17/13

Happy Wednesday, everybody. How’s your week going so far? Good? Good! Mine’s going okay, too. 😀 It’s a pretty slow night for mid-week TV, but we’ve all got opinions on what you should be watching, so let’s get to it. 😉

psych417smallLast week’s Psych was great. Lassie and the group went to Vegas for his and Marlowe’s bachelor & bachelorette parties—at which we met his “best friend” who turned out not to truly be his best friend and a big douche, and where we got to see the chief drunk off her…behind. Then Marlowe got cold feet and ended up kidnapped by the bad guy, and when he & Lassie made arrangements to exchange the bad guy’s accountant that Lassie had in custody for Marlowe, neither side brought the right person, so they came to an agreement, which was just too funny. Then the actual wedding got interrupted, Marlowe wore a red dress, and we learned she had some kick-ass moves… In the end, they did end up tying the knot. It was cute. BUT… At the reception, Jules figured out that Shawn wasn’t really psychic, that he’d been lying the entire time, not just to the chief & the rest of the department, but to her, as well. Crazy!

Is this the end to Shawn & Juliet? I don’t see how she can tell Lassie or Chief Vick, because that would really signal the end of the series… But can she forgive him for lying in the first place and not telling her the truth when they finally got together and even after they moved in together? Eek. 🙁

On tonight’s episode, “Right Turn or Left for Dead,” Shawn solves a case involving a mysterious Swedish woman and imagines how the same case would have been solved had he done one thing differently. Kurt Fuller, Lauriane Gillieron, & Rose Abdoo guest star.

To see how Shawn & Juliet are doing after last week’s major revelation, tune in to USA Network at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Psych @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing How to Live with Your Parents (the Rest of Your Life) & The Americans.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/20/13

As I write this, I’m watching this week’s episode of NCIS, and there was a moment at the beginning that made me absolutely sob. Poor Wendell—I mean, Ted. (Bones fans will get the reference. 😉 ) It was heartbreaking and made both my kiddo & myself cry. Anyway, there’s some more great TV on tonight, and we’re here to tell you what we’re watching so you can make an informed choice. 😉

criminalminds320smallAll season, we’ve been dealing with The Replicator on Criminal Minds. The last new episode, they thought they had him, but Donnie Bidwell, their suspect, turned out to be a patsy for the real Replicator. It’ll be interesting to see how that continues to play out.

I’m interested to see this week’s episode especially because Lynch is back. I want him GONE. It’s no secret Megan & I are both Morgan/Garcia fans. We want them together, and after Garcia & Lynch broke up & he showed up at JJ’s wedding with another woman, we thought they’d split for good, so maybe the way was paved for Morcia (or is it Gargan? LOL). And it would come at the perfect time, since next week is a big Morgan episode, where he has to go to Chicago and face the man who abused him. But with this week’s episode, I’m not so sure about that anymore. Hopefully it’s just CBS screwing with our minds.

On tonight’s episode, “The Gathering,” the BAU investigates victims who were documenting their personal lives and inner desires on blog posts and social media. Also, Kevin gets jealous when he learns Garcia may have a new love interest.

To see who Garcia’s new love interest might be, tune in to CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Criminal Minds @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Neighbors, Law & Order: SVU, The Americans, Chicago Fire, CSI, Duck Dynasty, & Psych.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/20/13

Dear Winter: I am officially done with you. Go away. Sincerely, your former adoring fan. That is how I am feeling today… Sick of winter! Don’t get me wrong, I love looking at the pretty snow, but I am tired of driving in it, walking in it, and most of all, tired of getting all the kids’ snow gear on… It’s just like the movies every time they’re all bundled up: someone has to pee! So to distract me from my distain for the season, I’m going to curl up with some hot chocolate and watch some new television. You’d be wise to do the same.

Megan’s Choice

criminalminds220smallI have been on a roller coaster with Criminal Minds through out the years—at times despising what the show runners have done to my favorite characters—but this season, I am loving most of the story lines. As sad as I was about Reid losing Mauve, I realized that this gives his character so much more depth and personality, making him seem less robotic and more human. The place I’d like to see more growth is for Garcia and Morgan to move past the flirty stuff and actually hook up—although I realize that this puts me on the shipper’s path, I don’t care, as long as I get them together. Despite the characters, at the end of the day, I tune in for the cases because no other show does creepy, serial killers better than this show!

On tonight’s episode, “Broken,” the team heads to Austin to investigate when victims with watches set to inaccurate times are discovered; the team’s stalker gets closer.

To see if the team can solve the case in time, tune in to CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Criminal Minds @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching American Idol, CSI, Chicago Fire, The Americans, and Supernatural.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/6/13

This has been one of those weeks where I feel like it’s time to go back to bed the moment I get out—but life doesn’t like that very much, so I am up and doing my thing. 🙂 I am looking forward to kicking back and relaxing while I watch some great new TV, and you should be, too! Let’s see what the TV doctors (That’s us. 😉 ) are ordering for tonight.

Megan’s Choice

criminalminds26smallI don’t care what anyone says… Criminal Minds is now, and will always be, one of my favorite shows. This season started off a bit strange with Emily leaving, but I am happy with the balance of personal and professional the show continues to bring to the table. I am still so heartbroken for Reid and wish that there was a way for him to wake up and it all be a dream. However, unlike some shows, the bad must remain to build character. Reid did a good job of coming to the aide of his team members when they needed him, even through his grief, but I really hope they find a silver lining for this guy soon.

On tonight’s episode, “All That Remains,” when the daughters of Bruce Morrison, a writer whose wife mysteriously vanished a year ago, go missing on the anniversary of their mother’s disappearance, the BAU is brought in to study Morrison as a possible suspect. Ken Olin guest stars.

To delve into the twisted mind of the unsub, tune into CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Criminal Minds @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching CSI, Law & Order: SVU, American Idol, Arrow, Chicago Fire, and Suburgatory.
