Welcome back to our Remote posts! It’s been a very long almost 5 months with only a handful of posts in that time! Darn Rona, anyway! For now, it’s going to be hit or miss, depending on when we feel like posting, and I’m starting it off with tonight’s series premiere of Supermarket Sweep.
When I first heard ABC was doing a reboot of this fun gameshow, I couldn’t have been more excited. I didn’t watch the original, even on reruns, but I did watch the show in the 90s and early 2000s, and I loved it. The show follows three teams of two, still in the iconic colorful sweatshirts, as they compete against one another using their grocery shopping skills and knowledge of merchandise. They’re competing for the chance to become the winning duo to play in the “Super Sweep,” a race against the clock to find five products in order to win $100,000. This time around, comedienne/actress Leslie Jones is host, and she should bring fantastic energy to the show, especially since I read she’s been a longtime fan too.
On tonight’s premiere, “Give Me the Roses, Richard!†Leslie is joined by teams from Canada/Washington, North Carolina, Missouri/Arkansas, Texas/Louisiana, California, and California/Philippines.
