If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/5/13

The weather this weekend was fantastic because it was mild and sunny—no humidity!! 🙂 Unfortunately, with my recent injuries to my ribs, I wasn’t able to get out and enjoy it as much as I’d hoped. At least tonight, I’ll have some great new television to watch. Let’s check it out.

Megan’s Choice

thebachelorette2013smallI know that it’s still a little crazy to see me, of all people, recommending The Bachelorette, but here I am. Desiree is a very intriguing woman, and I’ve enjoyed watching her ups and downs this season. Last week, we watched as she had two amazing fantasy suite dates with Chris and Drew—but we also watched as Brooks broke her heart. Honestly, I didn’t like Brooks much, but watching her sob was heartbreaking. I’m hoping she moves forward with Chris, because I feel they have the best connection.

On tonight’s season finale, Desiree has to decide whether she even wants to continue on with either of the men.

To see where Desiree’s heart leads her, tune in to ABC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Under the Dome, American Ninja Warrior, The Fosters, and Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/15/13

I know we have all been bombarded with a lot of sad news this weekend, but I would like to take this moment to send out condolences to Cory Monteith’s family, friends, and fans. He was a talented young man who’s life ended far too soon. The choirs will sound even sweeter with his beautiful voice joining them. Now on to some distracting television.

Megan’s Choice

thebachelorette2013smallI don’t usually choose those silly dating shows, but I have fallen into the trap of The Bachelorette this season. (Kyle, not a word.) To be honest, I couldn’t help myself, because Desiree is quite amusing, but the men this season are also intriguing (and yes, hot). Last week, we saw Michael go home, which I wasn’t surprised at all by because the relationship between them seemed very forced. He also kind of creeped me out—sorry, just saying. I’m rooting for Drew or Chris. I can’t decide which yet.

On tonight’s episode, Brooks, Chris, Drew, and Zak bring Desiree to their hometowns, where she meets their families.

To see how the family interactions go, tune in to ABC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Teen Wolf, American Ninja Warrior, Mistresses, and Under the Dome.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/22/12

Ahh, it’s the start of a new week. I’m so happy because there’s some great stuff on this week, including the season premiere of Warehouse 13 (which is amazing!), an exciting new episode of Covert Affairs, & lots more. There’s way too much on tonight (honestly, I had a really tough time choosing what to recommend…), but we’ve trid our best to narrow it down for you. We missed a lot, though, so be sure to check out what else we’re watching. 😉

Jenny’s Choice #1

My first pick tonight is the season finale of Food Network Star. It’s been a great season—totally different than any season before it. Having the 3 mentors really was a neat idea. Honestly, I feel like we got to know each of the competitors better, and there was none of the crap we went through in previous seasons…like last season with Penny & everyone else in the house. The teams banded together and were supportive of each other, even down to last week’s episode, and I don’t remember seeing even once the teams fighting each other. I like that because it means we’re seeing the competition to be the next Food Network Star and not a lot of personal stupidity.

The final four contestants are Martie, Yvan, Michele, & Justin. I’ve been going back and forth since last week’s episode. I wanted Ippy to win, but since he’s out of the competition, I think my vote has to go to Yvan, and if not him, Justin. I think Michele would have a hard time keeping me interested, and Martie is a sweet woman, but honestly, she drives me nuts. I find Justin a bit arrogant, which is why he isn’t my top pick, but he’s interesting, so if he won, I’d probably check out his show. Who are YOU rooting for? Comment & let me know!

On tonight’s episode, “Finale: A Star Is Born,” the four remaining contestants compete to win a show on Food Network, and team leaders Bobby Flay, Alton Brown, and Giada De Laurentiis present their candidates after reviewing their journey to the end, where America’s vote is unveiled.

See who wins tonight on Food Network at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Food Network Star @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/5/10

What a great long weekend but now we’re here to bring you our opinion on what you should be watching on television tonight. We apologize for it being a bit later than usual tonight but we’re both a little under the weather.

Megan’s Choice

I am loving Monday night TV this summer, but especially everything on ABC Family. For tonight my suggestion will be to watch Huge at 9/8c on ABC Family. The show stars the adorable Nikki Blonsky (Hairspray) and is about a group of overweight teens at weight loss camp.

It’s heart-warming, funny and a must see for everyone. While you’re at it stick around and watch Make It or Break It at 10 pm. You’ll be happy you did!

For Jenny’s choice jump with me. Continue reading
