If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/11/12

Fridays are normally kind of slow, but tonight is definitely an exception, because not only are there five season finales tonight, there are also several other great episodes to round out our work week. There are so many, in fact, that Megan & I both just couldn’t leave it at one recommendation…and I couldn’t limit mine to two! *laugh* So read on to find out what we think you should be watching tonight. 🙂

Jenny’s Choice #1

My first pick tonight is the finale of The Finder…for several reasons. First, I love the show. Second, I love when series star Geoff Stults and his brother George guest star on the other’s series (Geoff guest starred on 7th Heaven a couple of times when George was starring. Loved that. lol). And finally…well, it was announced this week that the show has been canceled. So tonight is going to be the last episode. Very sad for those of us that enjoy it!. On the last episode, it was a lot of fun seeing how each of the characters dealt with all the voodoo stuff. It was all sorts of craziness. First, Isabel was shot during a gang shootout at a funeral, in which a priest was killed and her partner on the stakeout was shot. One of the gang members then comes to Walter and asks him to find a voodoo doll that someone made of him. Isabel told him he had to do it, but Leo refused to participate (until later, when Walter himself was shot…). Luckily, a protection medal made for Walter by the “good witch” Willa brought to them earlier in the case saved him, and he was hurt but ok. Again, it was a fun episode because of the way everyone reacted to the voodoo and witchcraft aspects. 🙂

The biggest question for me going into tonight’s finale is Willa. All season, it’s been gearing up to her having to marry Timo. I can’t see the show letting that happen, so how will she get out of it? Will she wise up and say “Screw you!” to her gypsy family for good? By the way, if you are on Twitter, you should be following series creator & all around funny guy, @HartHanson. Tell him I sent you. 😉

On tonight’s series finale, “The Boy with the Bucket,” when Walter’s older brother Langston (guest star George Stults) comes to town, he asks Walter to visit their dying father (guest star John Ashton, Gone Baby Gone). As his dying wish, his father asks Walter to find his first love, Walter and Langston’s mother (guest star Annette O’Toole, Smallville). Taking on the most important search of his life, Walter battles obstacles which may prove to be insurmountable as his father’s health rapidly declines. Meanwhile, Willa is being forced to marry Timo by their Uncle Shadrack.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/4/12

Friday is that day of the week that we all look forward to because it’s the start of the weekend – and what a weekend it’s going to be. I’m going to be designated driver on Saturday for a Stag and Doe party; I will be going armed with garbage bags, water, and gravol, just in case. (Eww… I hate drunk people.) Anyway, tonight, I will be kicking back and relaxing, watching some excellent television. Let’s see what we think you should be watching.

Megan’s Choice

Grimm is one of those shows that makes my world a better place. I love getting lost in the plots, and there’s nothing I enjoy more than the mythology of the creatures. The writing is entertaining with just enough humour to balance out the drama and violence. If you haven’t given this supernatural show a chance, you have been missing out on so much. The twisted plots, a sexy cast, and just a general good time; your Friday nights won’t seem as “grim” if you tune in to watch.

On tonight’s episode, “Happily Ever Aftermath,” this classic Cinderella tale takes a very dark turn; Nick and Hank are called to investigate the mysterious death of a wealthy matriarch after her stepdaughter loses everything in a Ponzi scheme. Meanwhile, Juliette does some digging into the mysterious death of Nick’s parents in an effort to help him find closure.

To see what happens after the happily ever after, tune in to NBC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Grimm @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching and recording Supernatural, CSI: NY, Blue Bloods, The Finder, and Fairly Legal.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/13/12

Another week has passed us by, and what a week it’s been! Easter, school, parental visits – life is hectic sometimes. Thank goodness it’s Friday, and I’m even more thankful that there are some new episodes of my favorite shows to help me kick my weekend off right. Let’s see what you should be watching.

Megan’s Choice

Grimm is one of those shows that I love weekly and can’t wait to see. Last week, Juliette turned down Nick when he proposed because she felt like he was still hiding things – good deduction, girl. Nick is devastated, but she sticks to her guns. The case of the week was a little disturbing with the eating through the tube… Gross. Overall, Grimm is one of those shows that you have to watch regardless.

On tonight’s episode, “Love Sick,” Nick and Juliette join Hank for dinner, where Nick discovers Hank’s mystery date is none other than Adalind, the same Hexenbiest who tried to kill Aunt Marie. Meanwhile, Captain Renard takes matters into his own hands when a visit from foreign representatives of his royal bloodline threatens his position. Elsewhere, Monroe and Rosalee are called into action when the lives of Hank and Sgt. Wu hang in the balance.

To see how Nick balances out his personal feelings and work, tune in to NBC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Grimm @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/6/12

I love Fridays, but I love the Friday going into a long weekend because it makes the time so much sweeter. For this Easter weekend, I will spend time with some family and friends – as well as possibly eat entirely way too much chocolate. Check out what we think you should be watching to start your weekend off right.

Megan’s Choice

What do you get when you mix fairytales with creepy supernatural twists? Grimm, that’s what. Week after week, this show manages to make me love it even more. I haven’t been liking where it’s going with the whole Hank being seduced by a love spell angle – why do they always have to mess with people’s feelings? Then again, speaking of feelings, I’m liking the fact that Monroe is getting a love interest, because he needs something else besides just his ability to help Nick. 🙂

On tonight’s episode, “The Thing with Feathers,” Nick pulls out all the stops to plan a romantic getaway for Juliette, but his duties as a Grimm get in the way when he meets some unsettling neighbours.

To see if Nick can balance love and obligations, tune in to NBC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Grimm @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching Blue Bloods, CSI: NY, Fairly Legal, and Supernatural.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/8/12

It’s Thursday, which means we’re one step closer to the weekend for most of us. Of course, it also means no more school until the 20th for my kiddo, who is off Friday of this week, all next week, and the Monday after that for Spring Break. Happy joy… *laugh* So while I have that to look forward to, I’m going to be glad to get some great new episodes tonight. To find out what we think you should be watching tonight, check out our choices below.

Jenny’s Choice

Tonight is the spring finale of The Finder, which is both good and bad news. That’s bad news, because I quite enjoy this show. It’s not perfect, but I feel like the cast is gelling with every episode (as a new cast should), and the storylines are always fun. The good news is, Bones comes back in a month. Still…I’m sad to see this show go for now. I’m still not Willa’s biggest fan, but even with that, I think the show is great. The last episode was fun, seeing TJ Thyne as his Bones character, Jack Hodgins, come to Walter for help. This week’s looks really great, so I’m excited for it, even if it’s the last episode until April 6, when it returns in its new timeslot, on Fridays at 8/7c.

On tonight’s episode, “Eye of the Storm,” a severe hurricane strikes Southern Florida, but torrential weather will not stop Walter from searching for a female high school student who went missing during the storm. While Walter is stranded on Looking Glass Key at the Ends of the Earth Bar, Isabel visits the missing girl’s high school and uncovers clues that link her disappearance to foul play and a more serious and life threatening crime. Meanwhile, Willa’s probation officer is stormed in with Walter, Leo and Willa, and puts her differences with Willa aside to help the team solve the case of the missing girl.

Check it out tonight on FOX at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Finder @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also going to be watching The Big Bang Theory, Person of Interest, Up All Night, Awake, & The Mentalist.
