If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/26/13

It’s Monday, and I’m very sad to see the weekend end. It seems like it flew by—although, when does it ever not feel that way? We do only have a week until the Labor Day holiday here in the U.S., which is great for most everybody, and it’s especially great for me, as my husband’s taking two days off work to give him a five-day weekend. Yippee! But that’s a week away. To console ourselves that we still have to wait a week, check out what we recommend on TV tonight! 🙂

theglades826smallI’m so worried about how tonight’s season finale of The Glades is going to go. Last week was a good episode—and like Jim, I volleyed back and forth multiple times about who I thought was the killer and why. In the end, I liked how the case itself was wrapped up. But Jim and Callie are both keeping a secret from one another, and I don’t like that. Callie’s…meh. Hers isn’t a huge deal. So she patched up an old friend’s husband. Sure, the guy had gotten hurt while doing something illegal, but Callie tried not to get involved. And when the friend called and said something was wrong, Callie forced them to go to the hospital with her, knowing she couldn’t save him. And then, she did the right thing and called the cops, pleading to her friend to step back from her husband and his life of crime like she had. So I don’t think Jim would have a big problem with it. But Jim, on the other hand… *sigh* He’s keeping a HUGE secret from Callie—and Jeff, as far as we know—and that secret is not only dangerous physically, but it could be a relationship-ender. The fact that he knew Ray and Jeff were talking on the sly, the fact that he learned about Ray’s possibly leaving WitSec—and then Ray actually disappearing from WitSec—and he didn’t tell her? I love the character, but damn. I’m not sure Callie will ever be able to forgive or trust him again, even if he’s doing it to keep her safe and happy. I guess we’ll see how it ends up tonight! (Or not. Who knows with shows and what they wrap up and don’t wrap up in finales anymore!)

On tonight’s episode, “Tin Cup,” when the murder of a golf hustler shakes up a golf course, Jim and the team are called in to investigate the death and find the killer, which causes problems for Jim while he continues to try to tie up loose ends for Callie and his future.

Find out if secrets come back to haunt Jim tonight on A&E at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing American Ninja Warrior, Diners, Drive-ins & Dives, Longmire, & The Shed.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/19/13

Hi-ho, hi-ho, it’s off to work we go! (Well, for some of us. LOL Some of us—like me!—work from home. Yay. 😉 ) It’s Monday, which means back to work and school for most people, but it also means some good TV, so Megan, Kyle, & I are here to give you our recommendations on what you should be watching. 😀

Jenny’s Choice #1

majorcrimes819smallMajor Crimes has been great this season. I love the team, I’ve grown to love Sharon Raydor, and I love all the dynamics. The Rusty story lines are some of my favorites. Last week, he told Kris that being close to him would put her in danger, and she ran out of the squad room in tears. Is Rusty gay? Or is he just scared about starting a relationship because of his history? I don’t know. It doesn’t matter. It’s heartbreaking either way. And he’s been lying to Sharon and the others about how many threats he’s gotten, for fear that Creepy Emma will put him in witness protection (or something to that effect). I wonder if we’ll see any sort of resolution to that in tonight’s summer finale…

On tonight’s episode, “Poster Boy,” the team works strategically to capture a spree killer who has put everyone on high alert. Trying to solve the case quickly, Raydor is torn between two seemingly right decisions, each of which comes with major consequences. Meanwhile, Rusty is given some extra freedom, but more threats leave him afraid to stray far from home.

Watch a marathon of the first ten episodes today on TNT starting at 11AM/10AMc, followed by the summer finale at 9/8c.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/12/13

As of today, I will now have a three-child household fulltime, as my awesome 13-year-old stepson is moving in with us. I’m not going to lie: the prospect of going from two fulltime kids to three is a little frightening, but at least he’s not in diapers. 🙂 Besides, I’m excited to have someone to watch Food Network with! Speaking of television, let’s see what’s on tonight.

cmamusicfestivalsmallI really enjoy a good musical performance show, so I’m looking forward to CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock. Hosted by Little Big Town, it’s a night filled with some of country’s biggest stars, such as Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, and so many more. One of the things I love about the CMA shows are that country stars are always so friendly with everyone, and it’s really like watching a big party. It’s a perfect summer night concert in your living room.

On tonight’s special, we see highlights of the four-day event, featuring today’s hottest country music stars; Little Big Town hosts.

To watch your favorite country artists, tune in to ABC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Teen Wolf, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, Breaking Pointe, and Get Out Alive with Bear Grylls.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/29/13

We had a pretty good family camping trip, with only a couple of injuries and only one trip to the emergency room. My 13-year-old stepson got a fish hook through his finger—yes, it was as nasty as it sounds, but he’s doing fine and is back to normal. Now, we’re all back to civilization and catching up on TV. Let’s see what you should be watching tonight.

mistresses729smallMistresses is still heating up our televisions every week, and I can’t think of a better way to spend the summer. These women are breaking boundaries and making TV racy again—people compare it to Desperate Housewives, but in my opinion, this show is far more entertaining, and the cast is incredibly hot. Last episode, we watched as Henry gave Savi an ultimatum about the baby: if it’s not his, then she has to choose between him or the child. In that moment, I hated Henry—choose to not have a baby because it’s not his? Well, too bad for him. The baby didn’t ask to be conceived. Don’t get me wrong… I get how Henry could feel so betrayed, but if he ever loved Savi, then he wouldn’t ask her to choose.

On tonight’s episode, “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?” when Savi and Joss’s free-spirited, open-minded and often absent mother comes for an unexpected visit, she brings big news, but also stirs up some long-simmering family tensions.

To see how the reunion goes, tune in to ABC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching The Bachelorette, Teen Wolf, Siberia, American Ninja Warrior, and Breaking Pointe.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 6/3/13

Hello, June?!? Where the heck did May go? This is the last month of school for my kids, and while they are so very happy—I am a little nervous what a crazy summer it’s going to be. Crazy summer starting with tons of new television premieres—beginning tonight. 🙂

Megan’s Choice

mistressessmallI had the chance to watch the pilot of Mistresses a while back, and I have to say that at first, I was hesitant to love it—but it won me over. There’s nothing I enjoy more than watching someone else’s drama unfold on the screen. That is what this show is for me—delicious and sexy drama. It also helps that I LOVE Alyssa Milano and she is gorgeous in this.

On tonight’s premiere, “Pilot,” a successful lawyer develops an attraction to her co-worker when fertility issues begin to take a toll on her marriage.

Check out the fabulous new drama on ABC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Fosters, Teen Wolf, The Voice, Cake Boss, and The Bachelorette.
