If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/1/13

Happy first day of July, people! It seems fitting that the second half of the year starts out on a Monday. It can only go up from here, right? No? *sigh* Fine. 😉 Well, there’s a lot on to help us start the week out right, so check out our recommendations!

Jenny’s Choice #1

warehouse1371smallOh dang. Warehouse 13 is kicking it into high gear leading into next week’s season finale. It doesn’t seem possible that we have 8 episodes to go, including tonight’s penultimate episode. Last week, we learned more about Charlotte Dupres (the Countess of St. Germaine) and Nick…her son. It doesn’t seem like they’re the bad guys I was expecting them to be, unless we haven’t yet seen everything we need to see. It wasn’t Nick who bronzed Claudia. It was the evil alchemist, Paracelsus, who Nick de-bronzed and set free. I know Nick and Charlotte supposedly need him to help break the curse of immortality, but this guy seems like BAD news. Claudia is in a bad way. She wasn’t bronzed or stored correctly, so she’s dying, even though the bronzing process is supposed to prevent that. Also last week, Myka admitted to Pete about her cancer diagnosis. It was a heartwrenching moment—especially after seeing her funny daydreams about his possible reactions.

On tonight’s episode, “All the Time in the World,” time is quickly running out in the Warehouse 13 team’s search for the evil alchemist who bronzed Claudia and stole the only artifact that can reverse the condition—and it seems Mrs. Frederic and the Warehouse are affected, too.

Find out if the team can save Claudia tonight and the futures of their fearless, mysterious leader & the Warehouse too on Syfy at 10/9c.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 6/3/13

Hello, June?!? Where the heck did May go? This is the last month of school for my kids, and while they are so very happy—I am a little nervous what a crazy summer it’s going to be. Crazy summer starting with tons of new television premieres—beginning tonight. 🙂

Megan’s Choice

mistressessmallI had the chance to watch the pilot of Mistresses a while back, and I have to say that at first, I was hesitant to love it—but it won me over. There’s nothing I enjoy more than watching someone else’s drama unfold on the screen. That is what this show is for me—delicious and sexy drama. It also helps that I LOVE Alyssa Milano and she is gorgeous in this.

On tonight’s premiere, “Pilot,” a successful lawyer develops an attraction to her co-worker when fertility issues begin to take a toll on her marriage.

Check out the fabulous new drama on ABC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Fosters, Teen Wolf, The Voice, Cake Boss, and The Bachelorette.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/20/13

Gah. I’m FINALLY back online after having no power (which meant no internet, no TV, a phone and laptop that died too damn quickly) for almost 6 hours. It was torture! LOL So I’m really glad to be back, especially since there’s some great stuff on tonight. We’re here to give you our opinions on what is worth watching tonight, so read on. 😉 (Sorry this is posting so late. I was unable to get to sleep last night, so I slept during the day today, but because Megan was without internet & power last night through early this morning as well, I didn’t have her part to add until I woke up! Stupid weather! 😉 )

Jenny’s Choice

thegoodwingames520smallTonight is the long-awaited, much-anticipated series premiere of The Goodwin Games, starring Scott Foley, Becki Newton, & T.J. Miller. The three play siblings who really couldn’t be more different. Henry (Foley) is a self-important doctor who thinks he’s better than his siblings and the town they grew up in. Chloe (Newton) is the materialistic, flaky sister whose chosen profession isn’t what she thought she’d be doing when she grew up. And finally, Jimmy (Miller) is the slacker youngest child who’s been in and out of prison for small, petty crimes. But that is all just on the surface. When they get word that their father died and they have to come back home for the reading of his will, things don’t go as planned. Their father (guest star Beau Bridges) always loved to play games with them, having little contests between the kids—and his will is no different. Needless to say, none of them are thrilled about it, after having been estranged for so long.

I got to watch tonight’s premiere early. At first, I REALLY disliked the characters. The way I described each of them above is how you first see them. But if you stick around long enough, you start to see something different—something more—to each of them, and you can’t help but root for them all. Unfortunately, this little show probably won’t get far unless the viewership is huge. It took FOREVER for FOX to bring it to our televisions, and before it even started airing, they cut the episode order from 13 to 7 (back in November!). I do hope you’ll give it a shot, though, because it truly is adorable and worth the watch.

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” three estranged siblings return home after the loss of their father (guest star Beau Bridges) and unexpectedly find themselves poised to inherit more than $20 million—if, and only if, they can adhere to their late father’s wishes.

To see if you fall in love with the show like I already have, tune in to FOX at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Rules of Engagement, Defiance, Mike & Molly, Diners, Drive-ins & Dives, Hawaii Five-0, Warehouse 13, & Motive.

Trailers for New Fall Shows on FOX & Our Thoughts

You saw all the trailers and our thoughts on the new shows for ABC & NBC. Now check out the same for the new FOX shows!

Link to Ben & Kate on FOX.com.

Jenny’s Thoughts: I have to admit, when I first started watching the trailer, I wasn’t at all sure I’d enjoy it. I’m not always a big fan of guys like the Ben character, who are irresponsible and just don’t seem very smart or adult. But through the end, I grew to really love it, and now I’m hopeful that it’ll be cute enough to hold my interest and not just irritate me. – Curious
Megan’s Thoughts: I was laughing so hard at this trailer. The relationship between Ben and Kate is awesome, and we all have that one family member that we love regardless of how crazy they are. This looks like a really fun, quirky new comedy. – Excited
Kyle’s Thoughts: This trailer had me laughing out loud. I like that the main characters are a brother & sister who seem to get along great. The show looks like it will be a lot of fun, with elements of a romantic comedy. – Excited
