If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/5/13

I just have to say that last night, I watched Breaking Dawn 2 for the first time, and…damn. It was everything I’d hoped for and more. I was blown away by the story and the way the movie ended the series. Now, on to television… Last night’s Bones was great and incredibly sad. I’m glad to see that tonight, we’ll get some more great episodes. Read on to find out all our thoughts on what we recommend. 😉

Jenny’s Choice

ncisla35smallLast week’s episode of NCIS: LA focused on Sam, when he became too invested in a case involving an Afghani man who helped him years ago overseas. It was a very sad case, actually. The man had given Sam “lokhay,” which basically amounted to hiding him from the bad guys. The man’s nephew blamed him for the other men killing their entire family, and he was helping set up Sam to get killed.

This week’s episode once again features Sam…and while I’m okay with that, I think we’re overdue for a good Deeks-centric episode, don’t you think? 😉

On tonight’s episode, “Wanted,” Sam fears for his family’s safety when his wife is called to resume a former CIA cover after a case suggests ties to the infamous Sidorov and his stolen nukes. Aunjanue Ellis guest stars as Sam’s wife.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/12/13

I love winter, but I’ve had ENOUGH snow! Insanity was my friend while I drove in that mess of a storm on Friday—took me almost 7 hours to get somewhere that should have taken me 3 hours. Yeah, I am certifiable. Then yesterday, they canceled my daughter’s school again because of freezing rain. I’m done… Bring on spring!! To amuse myself and take my mind off this ridiculous weather, I am going to kick back and relax with some good TV. Here’s what you should be watching.

Megan’s Choice

thetastesmallThere really isn’t much on tonight (except of course for the State of the Union 2013), but I’m going to amuse myself with The Taste. I wasn’t sure I liked this show in the beginning, but I have a weakness for cooking competitions, mostly because I like to watch and think about how much better I’d be at it if I entered the contest myself. Yes, I’m pretty confident in my skills, but I’d love to be mentored by a professional chef, especially one as sexy as Ludo Lefebvre. So far, the competition has just begun, but I’m interested to see how well these competitors continue to do under the extreme pressure that is building, I suppose only time will tell!

On tonight’s episode, “Daring Pairings,” each team must use five unique ingredients as it tries to create the best dish; each contestant has to prepare a dish that pairs best with the selected wine.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/8/13

It’s been a really great holiday vacation, filled with lots of family fun, but I’m very happy that life is back to the usual routine—especially my television schedule. Tonight, I’m going to kick back and watch some awesome new television, and you should, too. Here’s what you should be tuning in on your screens.

Megan’s Choice

ncisla18smallNCIS: LA has been having a strong season so far, and I loved the Christmas episode for so many reasons—especially Nell and Eric kissing under the mistletoe. That was some definite geek heat. This show manages to keep the viewers intrigued with the case of the week, but still keeps us up-to-date on our beloved character’s lives. It’s the perfect balance. I can’t wait for tonight’s new episode.

On tonight’s episode, “Drive,” one of Deeks’s former defendants is targeted for uncovering information that could dismantle a car shipping operation with ties to global terrorist ring.
