If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/28/11

Is everyone safe? I hope everyone stayed safe from the storms the last few days. CA-RAZY stuff going on over on the East Coast. It’s the start of a new week, and we are just shy of the new Fall season starting. To celebrate, we’ll be doing a good handful of some absolutely fantastic giveaways in the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out on the site! Megan is in the middle of moving, so she’ll be joining us later in the week—or next, depending on how the move goes! Lisa had something come up, so Jamie is filling in today to tell you what she thinks you should be watching. Check it all out now!

Jenny’s Choice #1

Holy crap! Last week’s episode of The Glades was great. I had the case aspect almost completely figured out pretty early on (my husband & I have a theory on that… if we have seen the “suspect” or “witness” in a lot of other things before, chances are, they are the perp! haha), but it was still fun. The best part was, though, the mystery behind Callie’s almost secretive attitude. I had two thoughts: 1) that she somehow got the divorce process started, or 2) something else had changed with Ray—either he was coming home for good, or because of Jeff, she had decided they needed to go into Witness Protection with him. I was terrified it would be #2, but thankfully, she announced in the last minute of the episode that she had filed for divorce. Unfortunately, we barely got to see any reaction from Jim, because he was whisked away in an ambulance to treat all the injuries from his fight with the bad guy. Hopefully, we’ll see movement in that storyline tonight! Then again…maybe not…

On tonight’s episode, an Ernest Hemingway look-alike is discovered adrift under a glass bottom boat with a bullet hole in his head during a “Hemingway Days” booze cruise. Turns out, the victim might have gotten caught in the middle of a family feud between bootleggers. Meanwhile, an old romance from Callie’s past reappears and drops a bombshell, one that could seriously affect her relationship with Jim, the FDLE, and the hospital.

Check it out tonight on A&E at 10/9c! Learn where to find episodes online of The Glades @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/30/11

Have you ever noticed how Mondays tend to be dreadful, no matter what good things are going on? I mean, really, it’s the day you’re guaranteed to sleep in, lose something, or have some work problems. The only thing that gets me through my manic Mondays is the knowledge that I can curl up and watch television at night. Unfortunately, it’s a slow week, but there are still some shows on, so let’s take a look at what you should spend your time watching.

Megan’s Choice

It’s the season finale of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and I’m sure it’s going to be another strong episode, just like the rest of the season. We’ve been following Ricky and Amy’s progress as an official dating couple, the pregnancy and relationship of Ben and Adrian, and the upcoming wedding.

On tonight’s episode, it’s finally time for the wedding of Adrian and Ben, and what a beautiful bride she makes. Then it’s on to having the baby, and the outcome of all of that.

Tune in to ABC Family at 8/7c to watch tonight’s emotional finale. Learn where to find episodes online of The Secret Life of the American Teenager @ Clicker.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey Recap – 5/23/11

The question of the day is this: Are you Team Teresa? or Team Melissa? If you’re Team Teresa, I don’t get it. Especially knowing Teresa’s history and her abhorrent behavior on the show for two seasons. In a nutshell, last night was Teresa blaming everybody else for her and her disgusting husband’s behavior.

First thing I want to acknowledge is her tirade at Kathy Wakile about Teresa abandoning her children during the fight at the Christening. Teresa, YOU DID leave that baby unattended, and Kathy DID grab her AND Gia and got them out-of-the-way. And if anyone watched the after show Watch What Happens: Live with Andy Cohen, he missed a golden opportunity to call her out on it. There IS footage of this incident. Teresa acted as if she were Mother Teresa, and that there was NO WAY she would leave those girls unattended. Well Teresa, ya did.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey Recap – 5/16/11

My name is Kathryn Scaglione. I was born & bred in St. Louis, MO. Just recently I have realized how much I enjoy writing reviews about my favorite TV shows. I am at heart a very political blogger. If you are interested in THAT debate, please visit my political blog.

But this site is strictly for TV. I have three things in life that I am PASSIONATE about: Bon Jovi, Politics, and Television. I welcome any and all comments about anything I have reviewed, and please let me know of any shows you guys would like me to review. Here are some shows I watch religiously: All the The Real Housewives of…; most reality shows on OWN; Mob Wives; And anything Tori Spelling. Scripted shows I love: Law & Order: SVU, Family Guy (well anything Seth MacFarlane), House, Body of Proof, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Modern Family, Cougar Town, The Good Wife, Blue Bloods, CSI, Most news magazines, i.e. Dateline/48 Hours/60 Minutes. And also ANYTHING political.

Please feel free to follow me on Twitter: @KathrynJScags – And comment away!

I think I quite possibly experienced the greatest 90 minutes of my life last night, between 8-9:30c. The third season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey began. And boy did it. The episode started with every Italian in New Jersey at a Christening. The baby was the nephew of Teresa Giudice. This year, we have the pleasure of being introduced to two new girls joining the show, Melissa Gorga and Kathy Wakile. Both are related to Teresa, and both have major family issues with her. Thank God. I’ve absolutely abhorred Teresa since her big ’80’s hair flashed before my TV on 5/12/2009.
