If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/11/13

First, I want to say that we all need to take a moment out of our day and just think about the events twelve years ago, when so many people lost their lives in NY, Washington, & Pennsylvania. It’s been a long twelve years for the U.S. (and the world in general), so let’s be thankful for what we have and remember those that aren’t so fortunate.

Now, I’m SO excited about last night’s So You Think You Can Dance results. I would’ve been okay with any of the four winning, but the two I’d picked from almost the beginning pulled it out in the end and took home the crowns. Since I’m still riding that high, let’s check in to see what we recommend tonight! 🙂

topchefmasters911smallI don’t enjoy Top Chef Masters as much as the original Top Chef (the egos are so much bigger on some of them, I swear!), but I’m also not enjoying this season as much as I did the previous one I watched. It feels almost disjointed because of the sous chef stuff. That being said, I still love watching it. I’m a cooking show junkie, what can I say? 😉 I think my favorite chef has to be Bryan Voltaggio. He’s adorable (reminding me a little bit of Jason Dohring (Logan on Veronica Mars) in looks. I did like Sang Yoon, but he’s become even more of a control freak and kind of a jerk than he was, and I find myself looking for the greatness that is supposed to be David Burke. I have no doubt that both are amazing chefs, but for some reason, I don’t think this show has brought out the best in either of them—and last week, I thought Sang should’ve gone home instead of Neal. I also like Douglas, although not as much as Bryan.

On tonight’s episode, “Lucha Vavoom,” the winner of this week’s Battle of the Sous Chefs challenge, along with their “Top Chef Master,” get to create today’s Quickfire. Then, the chefs face a culinary body slam, as they create dishes with a Mexican flair for the wrestlers of Lucha Vavoom. Que sabroso!

Find out which chefs come out on top and which one goes home tonight on Bravo at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing America’s Got Talent, MasterChef, Modern Dads, & Thieves, Inc..

If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/24/13

Well, we’ve reached the middle of the week. YAY! It’s been a pretty busy summer so far, including lots of swimming, fishing, and camping on my part. Unfortunately, while all of you are enjoying new television tonight, I’ll be camping with my fiancee and five children… I miss my TV already. 🙂 On that note, let’s see what you should be watching tonight.

Megan’s Choice

masterchef2012smallMasterChef has been a must-see for me every week this season because of the competition level as well as the contestants. I don’t care that no one likes Krissi, because I admire her work ethic and the fact she knows she’s not there for anyone but herself. Last week, we watched as Bethy crashed and burned with her mushroom dish, ultimately sending her packing.

On tonight’s episode, “Top 8 Compete,” the “hunger games” takes on a new meaning when the home cooks are taken to a remote field, where they will split into two teams and compete in MasterChef’s first-ever overnight challenge. The contestants will have only a limited box of supplies to cook for sustenance, as well as an impressive lunch for the judges. The winning team is safe from elimination, while the losing team faces an intimidating spun sugar dessert pressure test.

To find out who comes out on top in a challenge that will test the survival of the fittest, tune in to FOX at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Spell-Mageddon, Top Chef Masters, Joe Rogan Questions Everything, and The Bridge.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/25/12

I have absolutely nothing witty to say. *laugh* So…just know there’s a lot of great TV on tonight, so check out what we think you should be watching! 🙂

I can’t say enough good things about ABC Family’s Wednesday comedies. And that starts with Melissa & Joey. The show is so cute and so funny. Melissa Joan Hart & Joey Lawrence have such great chemistry and play off each other so well. The kids are cast really well, too. Last week was great. My favorite part last week had to be Mel’s date being so wary about her relationship with Joe, and Mel & Joe both insisting they were only two adults, living together, and raising kids…but they weren’t in a relationship. It was really quite funny.

On tonight’s episode, “Pretty Big Liars,” Mel and Joe each try to hide a big secret from Lennox and Ryder—Mel is hiding her new boyfriend’s identity, and Joe is hiding a bad financial decision. Shawn Christian & Lucy Devito guest star.

Laugh along with it tonight on ABC Family at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Melissa & Joey @ Clicker.
