If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/27/13

I can’t wait for this week to be over because it’s a long weekend ahead of us, but also because I’m going to get to visit with my sister and family. My sister is truly one of the most amazing people I know, and since moving a few hours away, I don’t see her as often as I’d like, so you can be sure when she gets here Friday, it’s going to be a house full of giggles and goofiness. 🙂 Until then, I have some TV to amuse myself with, so let’s look at what you should be watching.

duckdynastysmallWeek after week, I fall more in love with Duck Dynasty and ask myself what took me so long to find this awesome gem! I know there are haters out there (ahem…Kyle), but most of these haters haven’t even given the show a chance. I challenge you to sit down and watch one episode, and if after that episode, you still hate it…so be it. (I bet you won’t 🙂 )

There’s something endearing about these redneck duck hunters with their crazy beards and their odd work environment. Si is by far my favorite because his randomness makes me giggle all the time. Last week, watching him play the pinball machine was hilarious, because to him, everything is a competition. Also, the whole massage chair thing was so amusing. Willie always has to ruin Si’s fun… How dare he try to run the business. 😉

On tonight’s episode, “Ring around the Redneck,” Si uses his metal detector to help Jase locate his lost wedding ring, but soon becomes distracted by what he believes is buried treasure from his past.

To watch Si get distracted by shiny things, tune in to A&E at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Duck Dynasty @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching American Idol, Suburgatory, Law & Order: SVU, and Restaurant Stakeout.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/13/13

I saw the funniest thing earlier this week… Oiled wrestling from Turkey. Buff, hot guys, covered in olive oil, and wrestling in the grass—but to win, they basically have to stick their hand down their opponent’s pants to then pin them. What they’re grabbing and why, I have no idea…but the pictures & the video? A combination of hysterical and oh-so-hot. Then last night, I got to see my pick win on The Taste, as well as watched the Duggar family visit Japan and China, which was incredibly funny. So it was a good night. 🙂 There’s some great TV on tonight, too, which we’re happy to be sharing our opinions about! 😉

theneighbors313smallMy favorite comedy on television right now, The Neighbors, is new tonight. Last week, Reggie Jackson, his parents, and Amber all were trying to learn how to drive. Reggie and Jackie took to it like ducks to water, while Amber and Larry…did not. In the end, it was sweet watching Amber and Marty bond when she told him she was having trouble learning from the Driver’s Ed teacher (Sandra Bernhard, who was HYSTERICAL) and asked him to help her learn…and I absolutely adore when Amber and Larry figure out they have something in common. It’s a sweet friendship of two people who feel slightly off-center and out of the inner circle sometimes.

There are only two episodes left after tonight’s episode, and I have my fingers, toes, eyes, legs, and arms crossed that it will be renewed. Ausiello still has it listed as “A long shot” on TVLine, but I’ve seen miracles happen for shows I thought had no hope, so I haven’t given up yet!

On tonight’s episode, “Sing Like a Larry Bird,” the Bird-Kersees take a trip into the city against the Weaver’s advice to see a Broadway show, leading Larry to decide to put on a musical of his own. When Dick injures himself, the Bird-Kersees risk exposing their true identities by calling 9-1-1.

Don’t miss what is sure to be another fantastic, highly amusing episode tonight on ABC at 8:30/7:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Neighbors @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Americans, Duck Dynasty, Psych, & Restaurant Stakeout.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/6/13

Midway through the week. Yay! For some reason, the week is kind of dragging by, although my favorite book series ever had a new release at midnight on Tuesday morning, so I spent 4 hours that I should have been sleeping gobbling up every word. LOL Anyway, there’s some great TV on tonight, so read on to see what we recommend. 🙂

psych36smallLast week’s premiere of Psych was terrific. It picked up right after the end of the finale last season, with Shawn rushing up to his dad right after Henry had been shot by his old police cronie. Once Henry was out of surgery, Shawn decided he was going to go his dad’s shooter…and he did…in classic Shawn-style. I LOVED Lassie helping him toward the end, and then Juliet rushing in to save Shawn from being killed. But I gotta say, he was pretty hot, being all angry and throwing the shooter’s stuff around, sneaking in and setting off the bullets and getting to the guy… And Woody rushing

One question I have… My husband & I disagreed about something, and I want to see who’s right and who’s wrong. LOL I didn’t think anyone knew yet that Shawn & Juliet are dating, but he said it’s kind of an open secret now. I just honestly can’t remember since it’s been almost a year since the last season finale. But the way Lassie was looking at the two of them a couple of times made me think he was just now noticing something between them. Anyone know?

On tonight’s episode, “Juliet Takes a Luvvah,” Gus gets a girlfriend, and Juliet goes undercover on an online dating site to catch a killer while Shawn tries to holster his jealousy! Cybill Shepherd, Sage Brocklebank, Parminder Nagra (ER) and Ethan Sandler guest star.

To see if Guy & Juliet find love (real or fake. 😉 ), tune in to USA Network at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Psych @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Neighbors, The Americans, & Duck Dynasty.

criminalminds1212smallIt’s been a while since I wanted to recommend Criminal Minds. While I’m still not happy with the way they are handling the Morgan and Garcia non-relationship, I am enjoying the show. I like Blake and think she’s fitting into the team well—especially with Reid. She’s become somewhat of a confidante for him, which is nice. Speaking of Reid, we found out a little bit more about his girlfriend last week. I don’t think she’s married (which is what some of my friends thought). Apparently she has a long-term stalker? Why Reid hasn’t gone to the team—or at least one or two of them—yet, I don’t know. Hopefully we’ll continue to learn more…except not tonight. Tonight is the fall finale, which means it’s the last new episode until January 16. I’ll be glad for the break to catch up on old TV, but I’ll miss getting new shows like this one! Especially since tonight, we may get more of a clue about who has been taking pictures of the team!

On tonight’s episode, “Perennials,” the BAU heads south to investigate a fast-moving UnSub whose signature matches that of a serial killer from 30 years ago. Also, the team learns that someone is tracking their cases and replicating crimes the BAU is solving.

Don’t miss the excitement tonight on CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Criminal Minds @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Arrow, The Neighbors, Modern Family, Take It All, Chicago Fire, CSI, Hot in Cleveland, Restaurant Stakeout, Happily Divorced, Top Chef, & Cajun Pawn Stars.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/14/12

Halfway through the week. I’m so excited because that means one day closer to Thanksgiving. I can’t wait to do all the cooking and eating. Yum. My stomach is already growling for the turkey, dressing, green bean casserole… Yum. To help us through the wait, we’re here to tell you what great stuff is on TV tonight that we think you should be watching. 🙂

I’ve really been enjoying Chicago Fire, especially since Casey busted the detective’s son for drunk driving and causing the accident that nearly killed an entire family and made a teenage sports player paralyzed. The detective is dirty, and at first, he tried to bribe Casey into keeping his mouth shut and retracting his statement about the accident. When that didn’t work, he stepped up to threats—to not only Casey himself, but his fiancee. Things are going to escalate again tonight, and I can’t wait to see if we get a resolution. One of the other big story lines is Dawson coming up on charges. I haven’t seen her do anything I think she should be disciplined for (especially kicking the guy last episode…he had a mean temper and bad attitude and was threatening them…), so hopefully that will be resolved soon, too. Of course the other biggest continuing story line is Severide and the pain pills. He needs the surgery that will ultimately save his ability to walk and move, but so far, he’s refusing because it’ll mean he’s out of work for quite a while. So to try to live with the pain, he resorted to sleeping with an old one-night stand who happened to be a drug rep and was able to then get him some really strong pain killers. It’ll be interesting to see how that plays out, too.

On tonight’s episode, “Rear View Mirror,” facing suspension, Dawson gets a hand from the same girl she saved through the procedures that landed her in front of the disciplinary board. Lieutenant Casey finds his fuse shortening as Detective Voight stops at nothing to get him to retract his statement. However, when Casey lays his life on the line during an apartment fire, he may have unknowingly caught the break he was needing.

Don’t miss the drama and excitement tonight on NBC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Chicago Fire @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Arrow, Guys with Kids, The Neighbors, Criminal Minds, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, Cajun Pawn Stars, CSI, Restaurant Stakeout, & Top Chef.
