I can’t believe how fast June is going. I was writing up the schedule for the week, and it just blows my mind that we’re already starting the last week of the month! Crazy, I tell ya! But summer does have its perks—one of which is great TV. So Kyle & I are here to tell you our recommendations on what to watch tonight… Two brand new shows! (Megan is busy getting ready for her daughter’s birthday party, and JJ is having internet issues. Hopefully they’ll join us tomorrow! 🙂 )

It’s not news that I love cop shows, so when a new one premieres, I’m right there every time. Tonight, NBC is premiering the new cop show with a twist, Crossing Lines. The show is brought to TV by Ed Bernero, the mind behind our favorite profilers on Criminal Minds, so I’m hoping this’ll be another hit for him. To sum it up, it’s about a group of law enforcement officials from around the globe who band together with the permission of the ICC (International Criminal Court) to investigate crimes that cross borders and hunt down global criminals. Like the FBI is to the United States, this group of ICC law enforcement officials steps in when crimes are connected across borders—only they deal with borders between countries, not states. For instance, when a serial killer strikes in one country and then moves to a new country, this organization steps in to track them and works to solve the case. And the show starts with the addition of a former NYPD detective joining the team.
The series stars William Fichtner (Invasion, Prison Break), Donald Sutherland (Dirty Sexy Money & a ton of other stuff!), Marc Lavoine, Gabriella Pession, Tom Wlaschiha (Game of Thrones), Moon Dailly, & Richard Flood. Those names you don’t recognize? Most have been in other shows & movies—in other countries. The show was filmed overseas as well. So combined, it gives it a really authentic vibe. I’ve seen the first hour of tonight’s 2-hour series premiere, and it really left me wanting more. So it’s definitely a show you should check out tonight!
On tonight’s episode, “Pilot Part 1 & 2,” disabled former NYPD detective Carl Hickman has become a recluse—that is, until he receives a unique offer from his friend Detective Major Louis Daniel. The Major has a tough case searching for an international serial killer who crosses borders undetected, leaving a trail of victims in his path. Carl joins a team of unique specialists working for the International Criminal Court (ICC); while trying to juggle his own personal demons and trying to corner the killer before time runs out. When a member of the ICC team goes missing, it is presumed to be at the hands of the psychotic serial killer. Meanwhile, Tommy follows the trail of the serial killer’s earlier victims and Hickman must face his demons in time to find the missing team member. Elsewhere, when Sebastian tracks down the killer the team must race to apprehend him but a sudden tragedy changes the teams’ lives forever.
See it tonight on NBC at 9/8c.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing HGTV Star, Food Network Star, & Whodunnit?.
