If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/14/14

Welcome to a new week for TV. There are a ton of finales this week because we’re gearing up to the new fall season—which actually begins this week with a few shows. As for tonight, we’re here to give you our recommendations out of the myriad of choices, so check it out!

Jenny’s Choice

unforgettable914smallTonight is two new episodes of Unforgettable, which includes the season finale. I’m really very sad about that because I love this show. It hasn’t been renewed yet, but I have my fingers crossed that it’ll be back next summer! Last week, a woman who worked for a famous matchmaker was killed. But they kept uncovering secrets, which led to more suspects and motives. My favorite part was seeing Carrie use her memory to talk to the men at the matchmaker’s place, convincing them one by one that they knew her and getting them to leave to “meet her” somewhere, until the owner finally agreed to give them the info they were searching for.

I’d love to see Carrie & Al get together—or at least share a kiss!—before the end of the season, but we’re down to the last chance, and I’m not sure it’s going to happen. She’s been seeing the Secret Service guy, and while he isn’t a bad guy, I’m a huge Al & Carrie shipper, darnit! So I’ve got my fingers crossed, but I’m not holding my breath…

Finally, CBS is upping the start times for their Sunday night shows by 30 minutes, which means hopefully we won’t have to wait—or at least as long—because of football overruns, so pay attention to the time below!

On tonight’s first episode, “Moving On,” Carrie and Al delve into the disturbing – and dangerous – world of celebrity obsession when a television star is found murdered in his dressing room. Then on the season finale, “DOA,” Carrie is unable to utilize her perfect memory when an assassin doses her with a deadly poison that attacks her brain, leaving Al on a desperate hunt for the antidote.

See how the season ends and if we get some Carrie & Al coupledom tonight on CBS at 9:30/8:30c & 10:30/9:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Rachael vs Guy: Kids Cook-Off, The Great Food Truck Race, Cutthroat Kitchen, Hungry Investors, & Pressure Cooker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/6/14

It’s the start of a new week, and what a week it is. There are 18 series premieres, 7 season premieres, & 6 season finales. To start it off, Kyle & I are here to give you our recommendations for tonight. 🙂

Jenny’s Choice

reckless76smallOn last week’s Reckless premiere, we met Jamie and Roy, attorneys on opposite sides of the legal system. Roy is the new city attorney, while Jamie is a defense attorney. In the pilot, we learned that smack dab in the middle of the Charleston Police Department, there’s a group of very bad apples who are involved in a huge sex scandal. Jamie took on a client that brought the whole thing to light: a female police officer who was let go for sending…pictures of herself to a detective on the force. She was drugged while out with him and then a group of cops took their turns with her. The tape of that came to light, although there is a missing piece to it that they’re trying to find.

Critical reviews weren’t great for the premiere, although I’ve seen the first two episodes, and I’m loving it. I don’t love that Jamie has a boyfriend, because her chemistry with Roy is super hot, but I’m anxious to see where it goes. I can say that you learned a lot from the pilot, but you’ll learn just as much or more from episode two.

On tonight’s episode, “Parting Shots,” when Jamie and Roy take on clients on opposite sides of a heated custody battle, things take an unexpected and violent turn. Meanwhile, Roy struggles with what to do with the missing footage from the police department sex tape.

To see what Roy decides, tune in to CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games, Brother vs Brother, Food Network Star, The Last Ship, The Musketeers, Cutthroat Kitchen, & Unforgettable.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/10/13

A new week and the holidays are creeping up on us. Before we know it, it’s going to be time to put the Christmas tree up. Yay! I love the holidays, except for the traffic and stupidity of shoppers, but that’s an issue I have with people on a normal basis. While I contemplate my lack of love for people in general, let’s see what you should be watching on TV tonight.

Megan’s Choice

witchesofeastend1110smallWitches of East End is definitely not filled with your grandmother’s brand of witches. Gone are the days of warts, green skin, and pointy hats. Instead, they’ve been replaced with incredibly sexy, intelligence, and badass women. Freya (played by the delicious Jenna Dewan Tatum) is by far my favorite character. Freya is a wild child, who tends to let herself give into her desires a little too much. Although she is engaged to Dash, she can’t explain why she is so drawn to his mind-numbingly sexy brother, Killian. As a witch, this girl just rocks it out, and as a woman, she makes all of us wish we could be as confident and powerful as she is.

Last week, we watched as Ingrid found her own special way to mourn for Adam, and Freya sharpened her claws when she met Dash’s ex-fiancée. It was a strong episode, and I am looking forward to seeing so much more from this mystical family.

On tonight’s episode, “Potentia Noctis,” Freya makes a startling discovery at Fair Haven while Ingrid has flashbacks to one of her past lives.

To get your fix of sexy magic, tune in to Lifetime at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching The Amazing Race, Alaskan Women Looking for Love, Guy’s Grocery Games, The Mentalist, America’s Funniest Home Videos, and Once Upon a Time.
