Tonight is the series premiere of Food Fortunes on Food Network at 10/9c. Over the course of eight episodes, food visionaries looking to launch a new product have the opportunity to earn cold hard cash from a rotating panel of four investors, all looking to make lucrative investments and find the next golden idea. But first, the inventors will have to pitch to a room full of consumers to win their approval, as the potential investors watch on. Seeking advice and cash from some of the biggest names in the food, online and retail industry, will the entrepreneurs’ ideas land flat, or will they go home with a food fortune? Investors include Willie Degel (Restaurateur, host of Food Network’s Restaurant Stakeout), Robert Earl (Founder and CEO of Planet Hollywood International, host of Cooking Channel’s Robert Earl’s Be My Guest), Scott Gerber (CEO of The Gerber Group), Dan Glickberg (Founder of Dan Glickberg Food), Daniel Green (International food and wine expert), Michele Hoskins (Founder and owner of Michele Foods, Inc.), Sonia Kapadia (Founder and CEO of Taste Savant), and Pat LaFrieda (Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors, Food Network’s Meat Men).
Tonight is also the series premiere of Hotel Amazon on Travel Channel at 10/9c. If you build it, they will come! Deep in the middle of the Peruvian Amazon, two childhood friends, Rusty Johnson and Stephan Jablonski, have left behind the comforts of home in New York to attempt to build a world-class resort in this exotic locale. Johnson — a wildlife lecturer and humanitarian — pursues his dream of opening up a top-notch resort in the Amazonian jungle with the financial help of Jablonski — a New York firefighter and a winner on popular game show Wheel of Fortune — who risks all of his winnings to invest in making his longtime friend’s dream hotel a reality. Over the course of six one-hour episodes, the friendship will be tested as they struggle to adapt to a wilderness filled with relentless downpours, thieving monkeys, limited essential supplies and more than just a few peculiar locals.
Finally, tonight is the series premiere of The Returned on A&E at 10/9c. From executive producers Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel) and Raelle Tucker (True Blood), The Returned focuses on a small town that is turned upside down when several local people, who have been long presumed dead suddenly reappear, bringing with them both positive and detrimental consequences. As families are reunited, the lives of those who were left behind are challenged on a physical and emotional level. Interpersonal relationships are examined with intrigue and depth as strange phenomena begin to occur. The Returned is based on the popular and International Emmy(R)-award winning French suspense series adapted by Fabrice Gobert and inspired by the feature film, Les Revenants, directed by Robin Campillo. It stars Jeremy Sisto, Mark Pellegrino, Kevin Alejandro, Rhys Ward, Aaron Douglas, Michelle Forbes, Agnes Bruckner, India Ennenga, Leah Gibson, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Mat Vairo, Sandrine Holt, Sophie Lowe, Dylan Kingwell, & Tandi Wright.
