If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/11/15

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Jenny’s Choice

criminalminds1111smallLast week’s Criminal Minds was…interesting. A woman was killed, which wasn’t unusual. But what WAS unusual was the fact that she was a sex offender, married to a sex offender, living in a community made entirely of sex offenders. None of them were thought to be rapists, pedophiles, or other violent sex offenders. And Lewis had been part of helping get the community approved. During the investigation, it was revealed that one of them was indeed a pedophile, but he wasn’t the killer. The killer turned out to be the son of the sheriff’s neighbor, and he came close to killing the sheriff’s daughter. The team rushed in and Lewis took him down even as she talked to him to get his guard down so he’d move the knife away from the girl’s throat.

This was a tough episode for Lewis. She was given a huge opportunity and in the end, she’d decided she would turn it down because she enjoyed working with the BAU, but Hotch had foreseen that and gotten the okay for her to do both. I like her (although I don’t like like Aisha Tyler with short hair like that nearly as much as I like her long hair), and I’m glad she isn’t going anywhere, but I miss JJ. I’m so glad she’ll be back from maternity leave tonight!

On tonight’s episode, “Target Rich,” the BAU helps Rossi’s journalist daughter, Joy, investigate the disappearance of a college student. Also, the team is alarmed when Giuseppe Montolo dies in prison after he warns Morgan about the “Dirty Dozen,” an underground group of hitmen, and JJ returns from maternity leave. Amber Stevens West & Robert Neary guest star.

To see how JJ handles being back with the team, tune in to CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Hellevator, Rosewood, The Goldbergs, Cutthroat Kitchen, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, black-ish, Chicago PD, Code Black, & Mystery Diners.

survivor2015smallWhile I don’t usually care for “all-star” seasons of reality shows, I have been enjoying this “second-chance” season of Survivor. Last week in a surprising twist, Ta Keo and Bayon were merged into one extra-large 13-person tribe, and the players immediately started scrambling to form their alliances. Despite their past history, Spencer felt a bit loyal to Kass since she saved him at the previous tribal counsel, but it still looked like an 9-4 split among the tribe, and the majority wanted Kass gone. However, just in case she had the immunity idol, they decided to split their votes between Kass and Ciera. Kass tried her hardest to get 5 people to vote for Tasha instead but ultimately became the seventh person voted out of the game.

I can’t say that I’m sad to see Kass go. I found her annoying the first time and annoying again this second time. Plus, she was very unpredictable and could have turned on Spencer again at any moment. While I’m once again rooting for Spencer, it looks like he’s in the minority right now and will have to somehow form a larger alliance if he wants to stick around. I really hope Abi is gone next. She is equal to Kass in the irritating department.

On tonight’s episode, a tough water challenge leaves castaways fighting for a much-needed reward.

See which castaway gets sent packing tonight on CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Criminal Minds, Code Black, The Middle, The Goldbergs, Modern Family, black-ish, Empire, Arrow, Supernatural, American Horror Story: Hotel, The League, You’re the Worst.
