Tonight is the 90-minute series premiere of Married By Mom & Dad on TLC at 9:30/8:30c. Online dating, mobile apps, matchmaking through friends and Facebook stalking may be viable options for some, but not all. When the modern ways of dating don’t work, four singles go to the two people who know them best — their parents — in hopes of finding their soulmates and walking down the aisle. This show is a modern take on voluntary arranged marriages, based on old-school tradition and real-world success. Four singles who have been unable to find love in the world of modern dating have now agreed to put their future into the hands of their parents. We follow each mom and dad through the process of meeting and vetting the potential future spouses and watch their kids meet their life partners for the first time. But the real work begins as the couples get to know what they like, dislike, and everything in between.

Host and Executive Producer Andy Cohen explores the nostalgic moments of three significant years in history — 1989, 1994, and 2000. In each episode, Cohen, alongside his newsmaker, writer, and celebrity guests, focuses on the most influential trends and events that shaped that year and reveal how the past has impacted the cultural nuances of today in unexpected ways. From musical sensations to political movements, court room scandals to Y2K, and the power reality TV has had on fashion, food and more, Cohen gets never-before-heard insider stories from his guests who have had a front row seat to era-defining pop culture cornerstones. Tonight is the series premiere of Childhood’s End on Syfy at 8/7c. Arthur C. Clarke’s Childhood’s End, one of the most-acclaimed science fiction novels of all time, will come to life in the first-ever adaptation. This six-hour television event will air over three consecutive nights. Executive produced by award-winning producers Akiva Goldsman (Lone Survivor, A Beautiful Mind, I Am Legend) and Michael De Luca (Captain Phillips, Moneyball, The Social Network), the star-studded cast is led by Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Mike Vogel (Under the Dome), Daisy Betts (The Last Resort), Yael Stone (Orange is the New Black), Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck), Osy Ikhile (The Fear), and Colm Meaney (Star Trek: The Next Generation). Childhood’s End follows the peaceful invasion of Earth by the alien Overlords, who promise to eliminate poverty, war and sickness — ushering in a golden age of peace, health and security for all of humankind. But why do the Overlords insist on hiding their appearance — and what do they ultimately want from Earth? While much of the world enjoys its newfound utopia, some suspect there’s a price to pay. As the truth about the Overlords’ intentions are revealed, humanity will discover its actual destiny may actually be a nightmare, instead of a dream.
Tonight is also the series premiere of The Expanse on Syfy at 10/9c. The show is set two hundred years in the future, after mankind has colonized the solar system. A hardened detective (Thomas Jane, Hung) and a rogue ship’s captain (Steven Strait, Magic City) come together for what starts as the case of a missing young woman and evolves into a race across the solar system to expose the greatest conspiracy in human history. Emmy(R) winner and Oscar nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo (House of Saddam, House of Sand and Fog) also stars as Chrisjen Avasarala, a smart and cunning politician who has risen in the ranks of Earth’s governing body without once standing for election.
