scorpion321smallOn last week’s Scorpion, Walter was in a car accident, which wasn’t a big deal, but because he’d hit his head, he had to go to the hospital. While waiting, he met a young girl who was there to get a heart transplant. Unfortunately, before that could happen, a patient was rushed in and Toby recognized the symptoms and convinced the doctors to test his theory. When they did, they realized L.A.’s blood supply had been tainted. They had to race to figure out what happened, and they realized the man who’d created the vaccine to combat the disease (which had previously been eradicated) had purposefully tainted the blood supply by mixing up the labels of the clean blood and the tainted blood that was supposed to go to research. He wanted to be able to sell all the vaccine his company had made before the disease was eradicated. Fortunately, they were able to fix the problem and rescue the clean blood before it was locked away for government testing and just in time to save the little girl who needed the heart transplant. And Walter learned a big lesson about living life and having fun instead of being serious and working all the time. One funny story line was that after Sly’s big win on Price is Right, no other game show will let him come on as a contestant. Poor guy. He really wants to raise enough money to sponsor the hospital wing in Megan’s name.

On tonight’s episode, “Djibouti Call,” while on a secret mission in Djibouti, Africa, with his new Homeland protégé, Tim Armstrong (Scott Porter, Heart of Dixie, Friday Night Lights), Cabe is captured, and Team Scorpion must save him.

Find out how the team rescues Cabe tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Cake Wars, Lucifer, NCIS: LA, Blindspot, & Castle.

themagicians321smallLast week, The Magicians took a very dark turn. The gang learned that Jane and Martin Chatwin had hidden a magic key in the shape of a button. So Quentin, Alice, Eliot, and Penny headed across the pond via a magic door to a London pub to visit the Plover estate, which was now being run as a museum. However, they soon discovered that the house was haunted by the ghosts of Plover, his sister Prudence, and the Chatwin children. While the ghosts seemed to play on a loop, they also interacted with the gang and proved to be an actual threat (they killed the tour guide). Quentin was horrified to learn that Fillory was actually a place the children escaped to and that Plover was the beast they were trying to escape from – Plover was a child molester who had raped Martin repeatedly and had been looking for a way into Fillory to follow the children. The gang managed to find the key, but once they got back to Brakebills, Penny ignored the many warnings not to touch it and was instantly transported somewhere else.

How is Quentin going to deal with this news that his longtime idol was a horrible monster? Is Plover actually the 6-fingered Beast they have been chasing this whole time? Where did Penny go, and what will he find there? This show continues to get better and better, with so many unexpected twists and turns you never know what’s going to happen next!

On tonight’s episode, “Homecoming,” Penny learns for himself that the world of the Neitherlands is not as friendly as he had assumed. As Quentin and Alice work to save their friend, Julia faces opposition as she tries to join an eclectic group of magicians knowns as the Free Traders.

See what Julia goes through with the Free Traders tonight on Syfy at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Supergirl, Castle, Blindspot, Gotham, Lucifer, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Jane the Virgin, Bates Motel, and Better Call Saul.

lucifer321smallEvery episode of Lucifer brings us deeper and deeper into this complex character and those around him. Last week’s episode was an eye opener from many angles, and we got a glimpse into the emotional roller-coaster that Lucifer is on when it comes to Chloe and his feelings about her. He likes to claim there’s nothing there, but it’s very clear he’s falling in love with her and he’s jealous of her relationship with Dan.

Speaking of Dan… It has come to light that it was actually him who shot Malcolm, but Malcolm knows that and is now blackmailing Dan. I’m not sure where this is going, but I can honestly say I’ve never trusted Dan anyway and really want him gone so we can explore the possibility of Chloe and Lucifer together.

On tonight’s episode, “A Priest Walks into a Bar,” a priest seeks out Lucifer’s help when he suspects an underground drug operation has set up shop at a neighborhood youth center. Meanwhile, Malcolm manipulates a way to keep an eye on Dan.

To find out if a priest and the devil can work together, tune in to FOX at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching The Voice, Blindspot, NCIS: LA, Scorpion, and Supergirl.
