Tonight is the season finale of both The Goldbergs and its spinoff, Schooled on ABC. This season on The Goldbergs, Erica has been lost, after she dropped out of college and her dreams of becoming a professional singer fell flat. Just in the last few weeks, she made the decision to go back to college. And Barry, who has been a goof his whole life but who finally realized he wants to be a doctor, finally put his butt in gear and did what he needed to do to apply to colleges. Last week, they found out both had been accepted into Penn, and that caused a lot of stress between the two. Barry was happy because he thought it was going to be his time to shine without being in Erica’s shadow, but Erica was excited because she’d been worried Penn wouldn’t accept her after her year of failure. In the end, they decided the campus was big enough for both of them. Meanwhile last week, Adam told Beverly he hated her after she tried to get him to pose with her for a Mother’s Day photo after Barry and Erica wiggled their way out of it. Adam went to see Willow with Dave Kim instead, and Beverly told him she was done with him. She didn’t wake him for school and didn’t remind him to wear his glasses, so he was late and his lazy eye creeped everyone out. In the end, of course, they made up. Tonight is Barry’s graduation. They made it work with Erica after she graduated, but how will they conceivably make it where Adam is the only kid left? It hasn’t been renewed yet, but it should be, so it’ll be interesting to see where they take it!

Then on Schooled, it’s taken a while, but Lainey’s turned out to be a decent teacher, even though I’m still not sure how she was qualified to be hired in the first place! Last week, Coach Mellor and Ms. Taraborelli were at odds when a computer was brought in and they talked about putting together a school website. Glascott tried to bring them together, and in the end, it all worked out and a great website went up. But also, Lainey worked with a female student on a song for the talent show, but the girl was really shy and could only sing alone if Lainey were there. Unfortunately, Lainey was planning to skip the talent show in order to perform at a local show in order to get noticed herself. It was no surprise when she showed up at the talent show just in time for her student. And CB was going to tell her how he felt, but when he and Lainey walked out of the school together…Barry was suddenly there to surprise her. That’ll be interesting going into tonight’s season finale, especially since the show hasn’t been renewed and it could go either way! I love CB, but I mean…is there anyone who isn’t rooting for Barry and Lainey??

On tonight’s The Goldbergs, “Breakin’,” when Adam unintentionally lets it slip that Barry never completed his community service requirement, the brothers join together to throw the greatest breakdancing battle in the history of William Penn. Geoff’s stress levels are at an all-time high, so Erica makes an adult decision and plans for them to follow the Grateful Dead all summer. Finally, it’s the end of an era when the JTP graduates from high school.

Then on tonight’s Schooled, “Dr. Barry,” after initially trying to sabotage him, CB works with Barry and the JTP to help him win back Lainey’s heart. Meanwhile, Glascott faces removal as principal after a prank damages William Penn Academy.

Don’t miss the (hopefully just season) finales tonight on ABC starting at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Chicago Med, The Amazing Race, Chicago Fire, Dinner Takes All, Gone, Guy’s Grocery Games, Modern Family, Single Parents, Best Room Wins, Chicago PD, SEAL Team, & Whiskey Cavalier.

NBC’s Good Girls continues to provide interesting twists and turns. Last week, Rio gave the women a chance to pay off their debt by smuggling something from Canada into the country for him. The women stole a car from Dean’s dealership and drove across the border. They accidentally shot a man in the foot in the process but managed to retrieve the items they were supposed to. At the border, the car was searched, but all that was in the boxes were rolls of wrapping paper. When they dropped off the cargo, the women discovered that the wrapping paper contained rolls of counterfeit money. Rio cleared them of their debt, and now they were officially free. As they were driving back home, celebrating, the ladies learned the police were looking for the stolen vehicle, so they dumped it in the river. This caused Annie to be late for a disasterous home visit by a social worker who could influence the fate of her custody battle with her ex. Meanwhile, Ruby dealt with a parishioner with eyes for her husband, who claimed in front of the entire congregation that she was the “anonymous donor” who paid for their daughter’s medical treatments. And Beth, seeming to miss the excitement and danger of the past few days, left a message for Rio to contact her.

What kind of activities is Beth looking to get involved in? Will her husband figure out what she’s up to? Even though the women are square with Rio, their financial issues still haven’t gone away, so will the others also get sucked into whatever Beth has brewing with Rio? Could the FBI figure out what they are doing and force them to help take down Rio? Does Annie have any chance of keeping custody after what the social worker witnessed in last week’s episode? I’m enjoying this series so far and look forward to seeing what other twists and turns lie ahead.

On tonight’s episode, “Atom Bomb,” Beth comes home to a surprise guest; Beth throws Kenny an elaborate birthday party; Ruby’s employment at the diner is threatened by a disgruntled teenage customer; Annie comes up with a creative solution for dealing with bullies.

See what solution Annie comes up with tonight on NBC at 10:01/9:01c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Good Doctor, The Resident, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, iZombie, UnREAL, The Alienist, and Final Space.

I really enjoyed the first season of NBC’s travel-reality series Better Late Than Never, which found actors William Shatner and Henry Winkler and sports stars Terry Bradshaw and George Foreman traveling across Asia with comedian Jeff Dye. The guys didn’t have their usual celebrity creature comforts as they immersed themselves into new cultures, trying strange new foods and activities, checking things off their bucket lists. It was a lot of fun watching these old strangers bicker with one another but ultimately become the best of friends. And having the younger comedian tagging along as their sidekick helps to balance out the show and bring another perspective to the group.

Tonight, NBC is giving viewers a preview of the second season, which has the group getting back together, this time to head out on a European adventure. The second season will find this ragtag group of celebrities heading to Munich, Berlin, Lithuania, Sweden, Barcelona, Madrid, and Morocco. Even though it has been two years since their original trip, the chemistry between these guys instantly returns when they reunite at the airport. I didn’t realize how much I had missed this series until I checked out tonight’s episode – this show is so much fun and has me constantly laughing out loud! After tonight’s special preview premiere, the season will continue after the new year.

On tonight’s episode, “Munich,” the first stop is Munich, where the guys immerse themselves in the culture, customs, and traditions of the city, including participating in Oktoberfest. They also go to the Bavarian Alps, where they recreate “The Hills Are Alive” moment from The Sound of Music.

See the guys reunite and head to Munich tonight on NBC at 10:01/9:01c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Superior Donuts, Lucifer, The Gifted, and Ill Behaviour.

If you enjoy this series, I’d also recommend checking out the Netflix original series Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father, which was released at the end of September, as it has a very similar vibe of a young comedian taking his elderly father on a trip across Southeast Asia.

I was a big fan of Cash Cab back in the day (ya know, way back from 2005-2013. LOL), a game show that took place in a New York taxi minivan. Host Ben Bailey would pick up a fare, and on their drive to their destination, they would play a trivia game in order to win money. Like a lot of trivia game shows, the contestants could seek help – using pedestrians on the street and by calling friends or family. If they got three questions wrong, though, Ben would pull over and drop them off, regardless of how far they were from their destination.

The show is back tonight, along with host Ben Bailey. This season, some passengers will be joined by a guest celebrity who will help the passengers rack up the cash. The celebrity line-up includes Matthew Perry, Brooke Shields, Scott Bakula, Gilbert Gottfried, Dave Foley, Jeff Garlin, & Susie Essman. I can’t wait to find out how they’ve revamped the series and see if the show is as fun as it was before!

On tonight’s episode, “Celebrity Edition: Scott Bakula,” two rowdy brothers from Alabama test their luck in the cab; an unsuspecting couple are headed uptown when their ride is hijacked by celebrity Scott Bakula.

Check out the new season starting tonight on Discovery Channel at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Great Christmas Light Fight, Man With a Plan, Holiday Baking Championship, Superior Donuts, 9JKL, & Christmas Cookie Challenge.

My favorite new show of the season by far is The Brave. I love the cast and their chemistry, I love the cases and story lines, and overall, it is just the one show that most makes me want to sit and watch ASAP each week – even more so than most of the returning shows! Last week’s episode was a lot of fun. A Russian drone crashed near the Mongolia/China border, and they quickly figured out that it was so technologically advanced that it had been flown over the northwest corner of the US without our notice, only able to realize it after. So Dalton’s team was deployed (they had to parachute in because they were going to be there in secret, not alerting the Mongolian authorities) to get to it before the Russians could retrieve it, in order to allow us to get a sample of the “skin” used so we could update our systems so things using the “skin” would be seen by our radar.

When they got there, they came across the village that the Russians had already beaten them to – killing many and burning out their huts. After gaining the villagers’ trust and helping tend to a wounded young man, they learned where the drone had gone down. Unfortunately, it was on the China side of the border, which meant they had to go in dark – no comms, etc. After a lot of action and Dalton nearly getting caught and shot, they were able to make it back with a good-sized sample of the skin, no worse for the wear. It was pretty awesome. I especially liked how Patricia faked out the Russian guy who was spying on her when she went to meet with her friend – who he assumed was from the Chinese government.

Back early in the season, at the end of the episode, we watched a man drive a truck onto the beach where the team had been hanging out with and playing soccer with a bunch of kids and families. We didn’t hear much in the next episode, although it was mentioned, but I knew that had to come up again. Then in a later episode, the team was up against a bad guy and rather than kill him, they bugged him in order to gain future intel. Both of those things come up again this week in the fall finale. It should be exciting!

On tonight’s episode, “Desperate Times,” after embarking on mission after mission to keep the world safe, the team is confronted with a task that hits close to home. When things go sideways, the only option is to risk one of their own for their final shot to settle the personal score.

See if the entire team makes it out alive tonight on NBC at 10:01/9:01c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Dancing with the Stars, Man With a Plan, Holiday Baking Championship, Superior Donuts, 9JKL, Christmas Cookie Challenge, & Scorpion.
