This season of Criminal Minds is going to look a little different than the past eleven. For one, Derek (Shemar Moore) retired from the FBI last season after his wife had a baby and he was held hostage by a bad guy. And second, after an altercation on set with a writer, Thomas Gibson was put on leave and then quickly fired, which means Hotch will only be in a couple (or few, I don’t know…) episodes. On a great note, though, the show rehired Paget Brewster as a series regular, which means Prentiss is back full-time! Also on board full-time as a series regular is Aisha Tyler (playing Dr. Tara Lewis) and new agent Luke Alvez, played by CSI: Miami vet Adam Rodriguez, who I loved on that show.
So who is taking over Hotch’s job as team leader? Some fans are suggesting Prentiss…and while that might work, I don’t see why Rossi isn’t the perfect person for the job – unless he doesn’t want it. Regardless, this season should be exciting as the team learns to work together and try to re-capture the serial killers who escaped from prison in the finale last season.
On tonight’s episode, “The Crimson King,†Agent Luke Alvez joins the BAU team, which is tasked with capturing a killer who escaped prison with 13 other convicts.
See how well the team works together tonight on CBS at 9/8c.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing Blindspot, The Goldbergs, Lethal Weapon, Speechless, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, Whose Line is It Anyway?, Worst Cooks in America, black-ish, Chicago PD, & Cutthroat Kitchen.

Tonight, TV Land has a great lineup of premieres, starting with the return of Younger for its third season. When we last left off, Liza was getting sick of lying to everyone at work and decided to quit her publishing job and head back to the suburbs to work in a mall. However Charles managed to track her down and asked her to come back – and the two finally had their first kiss. So, will Liza return to her old job and fake twenty-something life? What does this development with Charles mean for Josh and Liza? How will Lauren react when she finds out that Charles is in love with Liza? And how long will Liza keep up her ruse before she finally tells someone at work her real age?!
It seems like the second season just ended, but I’m still excited to have this show back. I’m looking forward to seeing where the characters and relationships go this season and if/how Liza expands her trusted circle of people who are in on her secret.
On tonight’s premiere, “A Kiss Is Just a Kiss,” Liza sends Caitlin off to college and weighs her feelings for Josh and Charles.
Find out if Liza makes a decision in her romantic life tonight on TV Land at 10/9c.
Also returning to TV Land tonight is Impastor, which kicks off its second season. The series follows con man Buddy, who was on the run from a loan shark when he faked his own suicide and posed as the new pastor for a small-town church. When the series left off, loan shark Damien had tracked down Buddy and showed up at the church during his sermon. Buddy sneaked out the back and headed home to grab his new passport but was met at the door by the pair of detectives who were investigating his apparent suicide/disappearance. Officers Lovello and Hyde placed him under arrest.
Unlike Younger, it feels like forever since this show was last on the air, and I can’t wait for it to return. I really enjoyed the first season, with its small-town setting and kooky characters. The first season had a lot of fun with the whole “fish out of water†premise and with Buddy being a horrible pastor but somehow accidentally ending up helping people. As with Younger, I’m interested to see how long Buddy will be able to keep up his ruse – especially now that the cops have arrived, how will he continue to keep his real identity under wraps? How is Buddy going to avoid jail? How will this thing with Damien get resolved, and if it is, what reason would Buddy have to continue pretending to be the pastor?
On tonight’s premiere, “The Devil Went Down to Ladner,” Buddy tries to outwit detectives, but his plan backfires. Also: Dora, Alexa, and Russell become suspicious of their new pastor, and Schmidt learns the truth about Ashlee.
Check out how Buddy gets out of the complex situation he’s in tonight on TV Land at 10:30/9:30c.
Note: Tonight’s two TV Land premieres will also air on Nickelodeon, which is where I’ll be watching, as my cable company actually carries that channel in HD.
I’ll also be watching/recording The Goldbergs, Speechless, Modern Family, black-ish, Designated Survivor, Survivor, Criminal Minds, Blindspot, Lethal Weapon, Empire, Worst Cooks in America, American Horror Story, and You’re the Worst.

Blindspot had two new episodes last week, and to be honest both left me a little heartbroken. On the one hand, we have Jane back with the team, but on the other, the team is furious with her – albeit justifiably so. I’m curious to see how things progress and whether or not Jane and Weller are meant to be together after all.
On tonight’s episode, “Hero Fears Imminent Rot,” Weller and the team must race the clock to stop a series of escalating New York City bombings, while Jane is forced to go on an assassination mission to prove her loyalty…or suffer the consequences.
To find out where Jane’s loyalties really lie, tune in to NBC at 8/7c.
I’ll also be watching Criminal Minds, Lethal Weapon, Law & Order: SVU, Chicago PD, and Code Black.
