If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/5/17

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice

I’m so excited for tonight’s return of The Good Place on NBC. This was my favorite new show of the fall, and tonight it returns to kick off its final 3 weeks of the season. When we last left off, the folks from the Bad Place had arrived to collect fake Eleanor, but she pleaded with Michael to let her stay and continue to prove she could change and justify her place there. So he decided to bring the matter before the great and powerful Shawn. Meanwhile, Chidi and the real Eleanor really hit it off – it was easy to see why they were originally paired together as soulmates. And in the episode’s cliffhanger, Tahani discovered the truth about Jianyu and his “meditation den.”

Will fake Eleanor be kicked out of her home now that real Eleanor has arrived? Which Eleanor will Chidi choose? (Not to wish ill will on real Eleanor, but I really liked the growing relationship between Chidi and fake Eleanor, so I hope she’s out of the picture soon.) What will Tahani do with the news about Jianyu, and will we learn about how he ended up in the Good Place? And who is this Shawn who will decide fake Eleanor’s fate?

On tonight’s episode, “Chidi’s Choice,” Eleanor makes a surprising personal discovery. Meanwhile, Michael tasks an indecisive Chidi with coming to an important decision, and Jianyu makes a big announcement.

See the return of the double Eleanors tonight on NBC at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Great American Baking Show, The Big Bang Theory, The Great Indoors, Life in Pieces, Superstore, The Blacklist, and Top Chef.

Jenny’s Choice

The Big Bang Theory is back tonight after a short winter break. When we last left them, Sheldon and Amy were trying to celebrate her birthday by having their annual sexathon, but they kept getting interrupted by…Bernadette going into labor! Bernie was having her own problems. Besides being in labor, she and Howard were having to deal with Raj and Stuart fighting over who helped the most. Meanwhile, Leonard and Penny were just enjoying finally having their apartment to themselves, now that Sheldon is living with Amy in Penny’s old apartment!

Time is going to jump a tiny bit when we get back. We’ll get to see how they all celebrated the holidays and how Bernie and Howard are dealing with being parents. What we won’t see is the baby (a little girl), since the producers have said we won’t see ever see her. It’ll be interesting to see how being parents affects Howard and Bernadette and their place in the group, though.

On tonight’s episode, “The Holiday Summation,” Sheldon and Amy visit Leonard and Penny for the first time since the holidays and share details about their terrible trip to Texas. Laurie Metcalf returns as Sheldon’s mother, Mary.

Catch up with the gang tonight on CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Great American Baking Championship, Hell’s Kitchen, The Great Indoors, Chicago Med, Top Chef, & Beat Bobby Flay.
