If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/22/17

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice

Tonight, CBS launches the new reality series, Hunted, and I can’t wait to check it out. Nine teams of ordinary people will participate in a real-life manhunt as they try to evade capture for 28 days. Each team that manages to succeed will take home $250K! However, these contestants will be hunted by a team of highly-skilled investigators utilizing the latest technology. The Hunters in the field will work with the agents in the Command Center, looking at phone and browser histories and whatever else they can get their hands on to try to identify potential collaborators and figure out where the fugitives are hiding in the massive 100K-square-mile game area in the southeastern U.S. This show sounds so exciting, and I can’t wait to meet the investigators and fugitives and see how this adventure plays out. Who will let the pressure get to them, how will they slip up, and who will manage to evade capture for 28 days?!

On tonight’s premiere, “The Internet Never Forgets,” one team loses valuable time in their escape from town, and a pencil could foil another couple’s plan.

Watch the teams try to escape their pursuers tonight on CBS at 10/9c.

PROGRAMMING NOTE: Tonight’s premiere airs after the football game on the East Coast, which means it will likely get delayed, so be sure to pad your DVR recording.

I’ll also be watching/recording Son of Zorn, Worst Cooks in America, The Librarians, The Young Pope, and Homeland.

Jenny’s Choice

Things are heating up on The Librarians, as evidenced by the exciting and sad episode last week. The Monkey King’s homeland, Shangri-La, got taken over by a bad guy who collects magical artifacts. Jake had become friends with the Monkey King, having been training with him for a bit – as evidenced by his now amazing fighting skills. So Jake and the rest of the group, including Finn, went to Shangri-La. Jake, Finn, and Eve had to sneak in inside a box that contained an artifact Jones and Cassandra went undercover to sell to the bad guy. They got caught, found Charlene (!!!), fought their way free, grabbed the fighting staff that would give control back to the Monkey King (who’d been whammied by the bad guy, so he was fighting against the good guys), and then gave him back the staff, which unwhammied him and gave him back control of Shangri-La. Then he (or rather, the staff?) did something to Jake, but we don’t know yet what that was… As for Charlene, she said the only way to keep Apep from getting to her was to sever her ties with the Library. Once she’d said good-bye to everyone, Jenkins performed whatever ritual was needed, and she went into the mirror – the same one Judson was in. So now I guess they’re together again. Too bad for Jenkins (or rather, Galahad…), since he proclaimed his love to Charlene just before she left. Too bad her heart is with Judson.

But the biggest news was Baird, who was being held by DOSA…and her former mentor, who is in charge…who told Baird she was a plant, a double agent! What the what?! Even so, like Jane on Blindspot, it seems like Baird’s loyalties have shifted and she’s on the Library’s side now, not DOSA’s. I guess we’ll see how it goes down in tonight’s season finale! At least, I hope it’s only season… It hasn’t been picked up for another season yet that I know of, so…

On tonight’s episode, “And the Wrath of Chaos,” the Librarians’ two-front battle comes to a head when the Library is simultaneously infiltrated by DOSA and Apep. Flynn, Baird, Stone, Cassandra, Ezekiel, and Jenkins must all put aside their differences in an attempt to save the Library, the world, and themselves. Vanessa Williams guest stars.

Find out if the good guys win tonight on TNT at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games, Worst Cooks in America, & Hunted.
