If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/6/17

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Jenny’s Choice

Last week’s Hawaii Five-0 premiere was a bit out there, even for me. I liked the introduction of new team member Tani Rey. She is definitely a female Steve McGarrett, in that she sometimes seems to act before she thinks. But she fit in well, as far as I could see. It’ll be interesting to learn more about her and her back story, including the brother we saw in one scene. I love the fact that Steve and Danny are actually going to open up a restaurant – although an Italian place in the middle of Chinatown is kinda funny. The case-of-the-week part was good, but I don’t know why Steve couldn’t life them all out on the straps he sent down, instead of lifting up the whole cabin with them inside. To me, that didn’t make any sense. LOL

Tonight we meet another new team member, Junior Reigns, played by Beulah Koale (who, according to Google, was born in New Zealand and is of Samoan descent, so at least he’s sort of like a native Hawaiian!).

On tonight’s episode, “Na la ‘ilio (Dog Days),” McGarrett and Five-0 work with an injured police dog who is the only witness to an ambushed drug bust. Also, McGarrett is visited by Junior Reigns, a former SEAL, who is looking to join the task force.

See how Junior joins the team tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Hell’s Kitchen, MacGyver, & Blue Bloods.

Megan’s Choice

I was completely blindsided last week on Blue Bloods when we found out that Linda was killed in a helicopter crash. It was heartbreaking to watch while Danny was trying to come to terms with the loss. The Reagans rallied around him, and in the end they rented him and the boys a new house so he could start to rebuild his life around the kids and his career. I am going to miss Linda, but I’m interested to see what story lines this opens up. We also met the new (interim?) mayor (played by Lorraine Bracco), and it seemed like she and Frank really wouldn’t get along, especially after she fired him. Turned out, she couldn’t actually do that, since she wasn’t the permanent mayor yet, but Frank was determined that he wouldn’t stay where he wasn’t wanted. In the end, he got to keep his job and things were quite a bit less tense with him and the new mayor.

On tonight’s episode, “Ghosts of the Past,” Frank receives an order from the mayor to attend a parade honoring a man who served time for conspiring in an attack against the police. Also, Danny investigates the return of a teen Selena Moore, who suspiciously disappeared 13 years ago, and Jamie and Eddie try to help a young woman they believe is being exploited by Congressman Thomas.

To see how Danny handles work this week, tune in to CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching MacGyver, Hawaii Five-0, Hell’s Kitchen, Marvel’s Inhumans, and Once Upon a Time.
