If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/27/17

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Jenny’s Choice

I’m thoroughly enjoying this season of Man With a Plan. Last week was especially funny because Adam learned that he and Andi weren’t legally married. The man who’d married them years before showed up on their doorstep, wanting to make amends – turned out he had some issues and had forgotten to renew his license back then. Of course, it was also Adam’s fault… He’d hired this guy instead of the man Andi told him to hire since her pick was so much more expensive. He was going to tell her, but then they got into a discussion about how he cheaped out on everything from napkins to the single-use coffee pods, and he decided to keep it to himself. He convinced her to do a “vow renewal,” but the guy showed up again, needing to make amends to Andi as well, and the truth came to light. In the end, it turned out to be a simple trip to the courthouse off screen, and then we got to see how their “second wedding night” went…with all three kids in bed with them. It was a sweet moment.

On tonight’s episode, “The Parents Strike Back,” when the kids won’t do their chores, Adam and Andi decide to go on strike too.

To see what happens when the house falls apart one pile of stuff at a time, tune in to CBS at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Holiday Baking Championship, Superior Donuts, 9JKL, Christmas Cookie Challenge, & Scorpion.

Phoebe’s Choice

Last week on Supergirl, we finally saw the return of her former boyfriend Mon-El but under very unexpected circumstances. He appeared in a spacecraft underwater in National City along with a bunch of mystery bodies in stasis pods. We eventually learned that one of the people asleep was his wife, who Kara rescued from a malfunctioning pod. Wife?!?! Yeah that’s right. Other reveal: When he last left Earth-38, he was sucked into a wormhole almost immediately that took him far into the future. Bottom line being he lived seven years, met another lady, married her, and then came right back. The soap opera that is the Arrowverse cannot be stopped!!

Meanwhile, J’onn, the Martian Manhunter, dealt with his long-lost-but-recently-returned father’s cabin fever at the DEO’s base by renting an apartment for the two of them. The mysterious 3rd Kryptonian, Sam, finally confirmed her origins and tracked down the location of her very own Fortress of Sanctuary. It was there that a holographic AI told her she must assume the mantle she was born to fill, that of Reign the Worldkiller. In the final dramatic scene, she seemed to go through that transformation!

I have a feeling all that will be on pause tonight though when the “Crisis on EarthX” 4-series/4-episode crossover event starts tonight. It’s not always the best episode of the season for these shows, but it is easily amongst the most fun, when they crossover and tie-in all four shows in the Arrowverse: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow, Supergirl, and The Flash.

On tonight’s episodes of Supergirl and Arrow, “Crisis on Earth-X, Parts 1 & 2,” Barry and Iris’s (guest star Candice Patton) wedding brings the gang together, but things go awry when villains from Earth-X attack the ceremony. All of the superheroes band together with help from their super friends like Citizen Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller), The Ray (guest star Russell Tovey), Felicity Smoak (guest star Emily Bett Rickards), Iris West, and Alex Danvers to take on their most formidable villains yet. Earth’s mightiest heroes — Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell), Supergirl, The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin), and White Canary (guest star Caity Lotz) — lead their teams into battle to save the world.

Check out the first two episodes of the crossover event tonight on The CW starting at 8/7c.

Tonight’s mega spectacular event was written in such a way that they brought Arrow over to Monday for a special night, so I’ll also be watching that plus Marvel’s Runaways for an evening of superhero overload!!!
