It’s been too long (November 20!) since we last saw a new episode of The Brave, so let me catch you up in case you somehow have forgotten! The team learned the name of the man behind the truck bombing on the beach at the end of the series premiere: Fahim Jarif, an ongoing & known threat to the US and world security. The team went on the first mission we’ve seen of them meant for one purpose only…to track and kill a specific human being. So Dalton and team went to Tehran, Iran, where Jarif was living and working without worry about being stopped. Things didn’t go as planned at all…and the worst happened. Jaz was able to go undercover as the sister of a “friend” of Jarif’s and met with him. She was supposed to poison him, but a phone call from “her brother” made Jarif realize she wasn’t who she was pretending to be, so a fight ensued and she strangled him. The team worked to get her out of the hotel she and Jarif had met in, but Jaz was captured just before jumping out of the third-floor window. Then the screen went black. What a cliffhanger! Any of the US operatives captured in Iran would’ve been bad, but being a woman? That’s even worse. Especially since they aren’t supposed to even be there, which means they’re on their own and can’t expect the US to rescue Jaz or any of them.

So will the team just leave her there? If not, how will they rescue her…and if they do, will everyone survive? I’ve seen tonight’s episode, and it’s a great resolution to the huge cliffhanger. I’m so glad the show is back tonight!

On tonight’s episode, “Desperate Measures,” Dalton and what remains of his team try to escape with their lives as they process a devastating loss. Meanwhile in D.C., Patricia will stop at nothing to make things right, even if it means putting her career at risk.

To see if the team can rescue Jaz, tune in to NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Kids Baking Championship.

Tonight, I’m really looking forward to the return of The Good Doctor on ABC. When we last left off, Shaun was being pressured by Dr. Glassman to see a therapist, but he didn’t want to and even resorted to sleeping in the hospital janitorial closet to avoid going home. Things came to a head with Shaun slapping Dr. Glassman, storming out of the hospital, and emptying out his apartment. Meanwhile, Claire was assigned to work with Dr. Coyle, who started making inappropriate comments and getting a little handsy with her during surgery. After she told Jared, he threatened Dr. Coyle and punched him. Claire also brought the issue to HR, but Dr. Coyle had already filed a complaint against Jared and gotten him fired. Finally, Dr. Melendez and fiancee Jessica had a bit of a fight after a rough dinner with her father.

Where did Shaun go, and will Dr. Glassman be able to convince him to return? (I think we know the answer to the latter.) Is Jared really fired, or will he find a way to keep his job? And what does this mean for his relationship with Claire? Will someone else report Dr. Coyle’s behavior, or will he continue to harass the female doctors and nurses? I’m excited to finally get some new episodes of this show. It is one of the few shows that I actually watch the same night it airs. I find the characters and their dynamics interesting, and Freddy Highmore’s performance is phenomenal. I also like how the medical procedures are usually successful, which makes the series a little more upbeat than some other medical procedurals.

On tonight’s episode, “Islands Part One,” Dr. Marcus Andrews enlists Dr. Neil Melendez on a very sensitive kidney transplant between a pair of twins whose lives intersect in more ways than one. Meanwhile, overwhelmed by Dr. Aaron Glassman’s attempts to have him meet with a therapist and the demands at work, Dr. Shaun Murphy decides to take an impromptu trip with his friend Lea and leave everything behind.

Find out where Shaun and Lea go tonight on ABC at 10:01/9:01c.

I’ll also be watching Better Late Than Never.
