Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Phoebe’s Choice

Krypton 7-10I said I was going to do it and I did. I binged all of Krypton season one to have some extra summer content, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was a weak show initially because: it had no big-name DC hero in it, and they were using Brainiac as the Big Bad while he’s still a hero over on Supergirl, but that should be okay since, third strike, it’s not even in the Arrowverse. The lesser known Adam Strange character has time traveled 200 years into the past to make sure that Superman is born. Which, we found out last year, meant allowing Brainiac to take the entire city of Kandor so Krypton will eventually explode. But someone else traveled back in time to stop him: General Zod. Other first season highlight: a dormant Doomsday that they keep lying around in case they ever need to genocide a planet.

Season two started with Seg, grandfather of Superman, on Brainiac’s home world possessed by the telepathic monster. After Adam arrived, the two together dealt with Lobo, a crazy bounty hunter and one of DC’s best all-time characters. Seg & Adam escaped back to Krypton to find it very changed. Zod had gotten rid of the poor “rankless” class of people in Kandor and conscripted them all into the Sagitari. Basically he turned the poor into his army. There was still a rebellion being fought from the moon of Wegthor though.

Seg reunited with Lyta but was irked by her acceptance of Zod’s new authoritarian regime. This was complicated by the fact they knew they still must give birth to Zod, who is their son. Even more awkward? Seg also discovered Zod had to brainwash Lyta to get her to go along with everything. Zod ordered the same done to his once and future father. It almost succeeded, but we saw some vestige of Brainiac still existed in Seg’s mind, so he escaped that fate. Meanwhile, Adam and Kem got caught by Lyta when on a mission to destroy the elevator to the moon. No, really, there’s an elevator to the moon. Hide your shark repellent. This second season has been much more fun with the addition of Lobo, and before it’s done we’re supposed to get appearances of some version of Nightwing & Flamebird. But don’t expect Dick Grayson… The codenames were first used in stories in the 60s about Kandor.

On tonight’s episode, “A Better Yesterday,” amidst a hostage negotiation that could end the war on Krypton, Seg seeks answers about Lyta.

To see if Seg finds the answers he needs, tune in to Syfy at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching Archer: 1999.
