If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/30/19

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice

Last week, FOX’s 9-1-1 kicked off its third season and left viewers with a big cliffhanger. In last week’s premiere, Buck has recovered from last season’s near-fatal accident and was anxious to return to work. He had been cleared to go back to work but suffered a pulmonary embolism at a party that Bobby and Athena had thrown for him to celebrate his passing of the LAFD re-entrance exam. After this, Bobby informed Buck that he was going to be relegated to desk duty. All Buck has ever wanted to do is be a firefighter, and now he’s wondering what he’s going to do with his life. Meanwhile, Eddie asked Buck to babysit Christopher while he was at work, so Buck took him to the boardwalk. But as the episode ended, they were out on the pier and a huge tsunami was about to come crashing ashore. Everyone started running and panicking, but it seemed unlikely that they were going to be able to completely outrun the wall of water and destruction coming their way.

I can always count on this show for big, over-the-top craziness. Last week we had a teen stuck in a speeding, out-of-control sports car and a missing woman whose baby was stolen from her womb. And you don’t really get bigger than a tsunami, so I am looking forward to seeing the continuation of that in tonight’s episode!

On tonight’s episode, “Sink or Swim,” a massive tsunami hits the Santa Monica Pier, jeopardizing the lives of both Buck and Christopher.

Get swept away by the scary excitement tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Good Doctor, Bob Hearts Abishola, All Rise, Bluff City Law, and Prodigal Son.

Megan’s Choice

All Rise premiered last week, and I am already loving this cast and the premise of the show. We are used to legal shows that focus on lawyers alone, but this show focuses on a strong female judge and her plight to bring justice. Lola really listened to the defendants, and because of her, a young pregnant woman was saved from going to prison for a crime she didn’t commit. I think Lola is going to change the system for the better, and I look forward to seeing her fire from the bench. In a perfect world, we would have judges like her in our courts helping people, but until that day we will have to settle for this fantastic new show.

On tonight’s episode, “Long Day’s Journey into ICE,” when an ICE agent pursues a defendant in Lola’s courtroom, she must fend him off while determining the appropriate sentence for the offender, an undocumented immigrant, whose crime was warning people of a grocery store selling spoiled goods.

To see how Lola takes on ICE, tune in to CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching 9-1-1, The Voice, Bull, Prodigal Son, The Good Doctor, Bluff City Law, The Neighborhood, and Bob Hearts Abishola.
