Overnight last night was the complete first season premiere of Paradise Lost on Spectrum. This new new gothic mystery series, led by Josh Hartnett and Bridget Regan, heads South. Set in small town Mississippi, this southern gothic mystery follows prodigal son, Yates Forsythe (Hartnett), as he returns to his hometown with his wife, Frances (Regan) — a woman very new to this very old community. As explosive secrets become unearthed, Yates’s loyalties are tested as he struggles to choose between his past and his future. Additional cast includes Barbara Hershey (Once Upon a Time), Nick Nolte (Gracepoint, Graves), Gail Bean (Snowfall), Danielle Deadwyler (Gifted), Shane McRae (Sneaky Pete), and Silas Weir Mitchell (Grimm).

Tonight is also the 2-hour series premiere of The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart on ABC at 8/7c. The show unites two of the most emotionally powerful forces in human life: music and love, as 20 single men and women embark on an incredible journey to find love through music. Singing well-known songs, both individually and as couples, they will look to form attractions through the melodies, find and reveal their feelings, and ultimately fall in love. The eligible bachelors and bachelorettes will meet and explore their relationships while living together and going on Bachelor-style dates that focus on music. Once the couples commit to each other, it will be time to take their relationship to the next level. The harmony of the couples will be tested through musical challenges, including live performances judged by some of the biggest names in the music business. Ultimately, the couples whose performances reveal their love and devotion to one another will continue to be given a chance to further their relationships until only one couple is left standing.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Celebrity IOU on HGTV at 9/8c. This is a new blockbuster HGTV series where Hollywood A-listers express their deep gratitude to the individuals who have had a major impact on their lives by surprising them with big, heartwarming home renovations that bring everyone to tears. The star-studded, uplifting series features everyone’s favorite brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott as they help each celebrity with a special renovation. The season’s celebrity lineup includes: Brad Pitt, Melissa McCarthy, Viola Davis, Rebel Wilson, and Michael Bublé.

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of The Baker and the Beauty on ABC at 10/9c. Daniel Garcia (Victor Rasuk) is working in the family bakery and doing everything that his loving Cuban parents and siblings expect him to do. But on a wild Miami night he meets Noa Hamilton (Nathalie Kelley), an international superstar and fashion mogul, and his life moves into the spotlight. Tonight is the series premiere of Deadliest Catch: Bloodline on Discovery Channel at 10/9c. Every real Deadliest Catch fan can remember Captain Phil Harris. The legendary crabber made history with his crew on the famed Cornelia Marie. Now, his son Josh Harris, is looking to fulfill his father’s legacy and carve a new path for himself. This new show will follow Josh as he embarks on a journey to finish what his dad started. Josh, along with his business partner Casey McManus, discover a trove of Hawaiian fishing charts scribbled with Captain Phil’s handwriting. Wondering if his dad was planning on starting a business on the Kona coast, Josh takes the opportunity to travel to the islands and learn about the time his father spent their decades earlier. To gain a deeper understanding of fishing in Hawaii, the duo enlists the help of Jeff Silva, one of the island’s top commercial fisherman to help them learn the challenging fishery, interpret Phil’s charts, and hunt for the islands’ lucrative bounty of ahi tuna. Will Josh be able to forge a new business from his father’s lost plans? [Just FYI: Discovery.com actually shows their schedule as a 3-hour long episode of Deadliest Catch, but this show is lumped in with that. Next week, I’ll probably combine them like Discovery did. So don’t be alarmed, and please don’t message me! 😉 ]
