If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/30/20

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice

Tonight, NBC is reuniting the cast of Parks and Recreation for a special hour of TV. The series originally ran on the network from 2009-15 and featured an amazing cast, including Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott, Rob Lowe, Jim O’Heir, and Retta.

Tonight’s event begins with The Paley Center Salutes Parks and Recreation, a half-hour special that looks back on some of the show’s most iconic moments over its seven seasons, as well as some fun behind-the-scenes stories from the cast. This will be followed by the all-new A Parks and Recreation Special, a brand-new episode of the series that was filmed by the actors at their homes during this time of isolation. The producers have stated that all of the original characters from the series will return, as well as several guest stars from the Pawnee universe. When the series ended, it was sad to say good-bye to these quirky characters, but I am so excited that we’ll get to take this trip back to Pawnee to get an update on Leslie Knope and the gang. This show always made me laugh, and I am really looking forward to this new episode – I am especially interested to see if/how they work in the fact that Chris Pratt has become a major film star since he initially took on the role of the dim-witted, out-of-shape Andy Dwyer!

On tonight’s special, “A Parks and Recreation Special,” Leslie Knope connects with her friends from the Pawnee Parks and Recreation department – Ron Swanson, Andy Dwyer, April Ludgate, Ben Wyatt, Tom Haverford, Donna Meagle, Ann Perkins, Chris Traeger, and more – to check in during a challenging time.

The special and new episode air tonight on NBC starting at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Young Sheldon, Council of Dads, Top Chef, and Tacoma FD.

Tonight is the season finale of Last Man Standing, and it should be an exciting one – especially after hearing the news last week that Mandy is pregnant! She and Kyle have been trying since shortly after they got married, so that was very exciting news for not only them but their family and viewers too. It was also fun seeing Mike on Ryan’s podcast and actually having something in common. And what was up with that rude waiter? Why did they not complain to the manager? Sheesh!

On tonight’s episode, “How You Like Them Pancakes?” Eve returns home for a weekend visit, and Vanessa tries to recreate a childhood tradition for the girls…without Mike. Meanwhile, Jen asks Ed and Chuck for help in finding out who is stealing her work lunches, and Kristin’s big day finally arrives.

See if we get to meet Mike & Vanessa’s second grandbaby tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, Man with a Plan, & Top Chef.

Megan’s Choice

Young Sheldon always manages to make me laugh, and I am sad to see this season end tonight. Last week’s episode had me laughing at Sheldon’s dental procedure situation especially hard because my daughter is terrified of the dentist, and this reminded me of those trying times. The rest of last week’s episode was a little more serious because it had Dale and Connie having issues because she wouldn’t tell him she loved him back. Dale was quite upset. After the trip, Dale returned to find out that the store was robbed after Georgie left the till unlocked. Georgie paid Dale back the money that was stolen, but he still got fired. That is likely to make Connie particularly angry.

On tonight’s episode, “A Secret Letter and a Lowly Disc of Processed Meat,” Sheldon discovers that Mary’s been keeping a secret about his future. Also, Meemaw is furious when she learns Dale fired Georgie.

To see what secret Mary has been keeping, tune in to CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Station 19, Tommy, and Top Chef.
