After almost a year (!!!), we’re FINALLY getting the final season premiere of Blindspot tonight. In case you don’t remember, on the 2-part season finale, the team was racing against the clock to stop Madeline Burke’s Helios attack. When they finally got a lead into two of her associates and tracked one down, they found him with Keaton. Turned out the guy was former CIA. Nash, Keaton’s boss, showed up. They argued and agreed to go to a neutral location and question him together, but on the drive there, rockets blew up the SUV and killed him. In order to figure out who the mole inside the CIA or FBI was, the FBI brought in Madeline from prison, but she fed them nothing but whining about being innocent and this being an attack on her from the FBI, just like they had a problem with her father.

They captured Dominic on security cams at the Belmore science lab, getting handed a package. That’s when we found out Nash was the mole in the CIA and he warned Dominic to get away from Belmore before the team could get there. They did find the woman who gave Dominic the package. They were shocked when they found out it was a computer virus, not a biological agent. Not long after that, they figured out his target: NYIOC, which controls the power grid to the entire East Coast. Unfortunately, they couldn’t get to Dominic in time to stop him from uploading the virus. Patterson and Zapata stayed in the lab to try to stop the virus, while Jane & Weller went after Dominic. During his escape, Jane and Weller cornered him in the hallway, and he basically sacrificed himself for the cause. And unfortunately, Kathy was still working with him (remember, she thought they were in love…), so she was able to stop Patterson from halting the virus…and the entire power grid went down.

In the second episode of the finale, Reade finally learned why Weller and Weitz had been acting so strangely. He was even more angry when he learned Patterson and Rich had met with Kathy previously. They had the phone number Kathy had given them at that point, and they tracked it to the Perlan Museum in Iceland. Weitz agreed to look the other way, and everyone but Rich left for Iceland.

That’s when Madeline’s plan really came to light. Once Madeline’s lawyer arrived, we learned that she was alleging that the team had gone rogue and had been the ones to set off the virus that took down the power grid. Those allegations were “confirmed” by the new director of National Intelligence…Nash (much to Weitz’s shock, since he was almost assured of getting the position himself). Weitz recovered enough to warn the team that when they landed in Iceland, they would be arrested, so the team decided to jump out of the plane and parachute down to meet one of Rich’s dark web contacts: Ice Cream.

After a bit of tap dancing, Reade and Zapata went with Ice Cream’s friends to meet with him at the safe house he’d arranged, while Patterson, Weller, and Jane sneaked into the museum and headed for the massive cryptocurrency mining operation that was housed deep under the building. They’d figured out that’s the computer power Kathy had to be using the run the virus. Just when Patterson thought she had the virus stopped, she realized she’d made it worse by tripping on a trap Kathy had set, and suddenly Paris and London went dark.

As if it couldn’t get worse, Dominic had transferred money into accounts set up in each member of the team’s names, and with that and the security footage of them sneaking into the museum, it seemed like there was plenty of evidence to support Madeline’s claims. Icelandic police were just about to the museum, so Weller and Jane sent Patterson out the back to go to the safe house and barricaded the front doors, taking all the people inside hostage. Crazy, but okay… The police raided the building, taking them down with flashbangs, and handcuffed Weller and Jane and threw them into the back of a transport van. Thankfully, the cops doing the transporting were Team Ice Cream, and they were taken to the safe house.

The team took the time then to make up from all the previous fighting, Reade and Zapata got hot and heavy in the bathroom (or whatever), and then they agreed to take shifts. Everyone else was going to get some sleep, and Jane was going to take first watch outside. Weller decided to go outside and see his wife, but he didn’t make it that far…

Because while they were all getting handcuffed and “arrested,” getting to the safe house, and making nice, Madeline’s plan continued to unfold: Under her control because she has evidence about the drone strike cover-up, Weitz held a press conference about the team being dangerous rogue agents. Then Madeline stepped up and announced she was head of the new Civilian Oversight Committee for the FBI. Rich was taken to someplace called the Boat, and Nash managed to track down the safe house the team was holed up in.

And to end not only the episode but the season, Nash ordered a drone strike. So when, on watch outside, Jane turned and smiled as she looked at the safe house where her husband and friends were settling in to sleep, the strike hit and the house exploded.

And end credits.

It was a CRAZY ride. Could ANYONE have survived that strike? If they did, how will they take down Madeline and Nash?? We get…11 episodes, I think, in this final season, so it’ll be interesting to see how they wrap it up! (I’ve seen the first two episodes, so I know what happens. Can’t wait to see what you guys think!)

On tonight’s episode, “I Came to Sleigh,” Jane tries to pick up the pieces after the explosive finale in Iceland. She gets a strange message from an unknown ally that allows her to mount a rescue mission to free Rich Dotcom from a CIA black-site…but she’ll need the help from her old rival Sho Akhtar (guest star Ajay Naidu).

Don’t miss the exciting premiere tonight on NBC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Celebrity Watch Party, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Man with a Plan, & Top Chef.

Megan’s Choice

It has been quite a season so far on Station 19 but especially for Andy. She has lost Ryan, her father, and had a quick wedding to Sullivan. She is definitely in a bit of a spiral. Personally, I think Sullivan and Andy belong together, but I’m not entirely sure Andy was ready for the marriage part. She admitted to Jack last episode that maybe she rushed into the marriage part but isn’t sure what to do now. I really hope that she sticks it out, because those two have been doing great together, and I think they will be the Meredith/Derek of this show.

On tonight’s episode, “Bad Guy,” Ben, Jackson, and Emmett are put in a precarious and dangerous position with a potential victim. Andy’s search for more background on her family opens her eyes, and Vic and Travis are caught in the middle of a corruption scheme.

To see what corruption they are caught up in, tune in to ABC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Blindspot, Man With a Plan, and Tommy.
