Today is the series premiere of Symon’s Dinners Cooking Out on Food Network at 12:30PM/11:30AMc. For the last few weeks, you’ve been tuning in to watch Michael Symon’s Facebook Live cooking demos as preps dinner at home every night during quarantine. And now, just in time for the start of grilling season, he’s heading outside for a brand-new TV series called Symon’s Dinners Cooking Out, featuring Michael’s best grilled recipes ideal for summer. The first self-shot episode includes Michael firing up the grill to put a backyard spin on an old-school favorite, Chicken Parm Meatballs, and other Italian classics, like Mom’s go-to salad and creamy polenta. Each week he’ll start with a dish you know and love — think gooey mac and cheese, tender ribs and sweet apple crisp — then transform it on the grill with just a few simple techniques and some dressed-up flavors. The first three episodes will air Sundays, and then beginning Monday, June 22, the final three will launch weekly on the Food Network Kitchen app, where you can find all of Michael’s step-by-step recipes on demand whenever you want. (If you haven’t checked out the app yet, download it today and sign up!)

Tonight is also the series premiere of Renovation Island on HGTV at 9/8c. Contractor Bryan Baeumler and his wife, Sarah, move their family to the undeveloped South Andros Island, Bahamas, to restore a rundown beach resort. They have six months to transform the property into the Caerula Mar Club in order to make a profit.

Tonight is also the series premiere of I May Destroy You on HBO at 10:32/9:32c. The series, starring Michaela Coel, is a fearless, frank, and provocative series that explores the question of sexual consent in contemporary life and how, in the new landscape of dating and relationships, we make the distinction between liberation and exploitation. It also stars Weruche Opia, Adam James, Aml Ameen, Ann Akin, Ellie James, Franc Ashman, Harriet Webb, Karan Gill, Natalie Walter, Paapa Essiedu, Samson Ajewole, & Sarah Niles.

Tonight is the series premiere of Design at Your Door on HGTV at 9/8c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 9:30/8:30c. The series will follow families from all walks of life, including first responders and other essential front line workers, as they receive coaching and a customized design plan that they can quickly make a reality. Boxes of surprises, delivered to the homeowner’s doorstep, could include anything from paint and pillows to wallpaper, headboards and sofas. Participating HGTV experts in the series include: David Bromstad, Tiffany Brooks, Tamara Day, Dave and Jenny Marrs, Maureen McCormick, Grace Mitchell, Eve Plumb, Orlando Soria, and Alison Victoria. While documenting their design process every step of the way, the homeowners will complete such projects as converting a forgotten storage area into a playroom and upgrading a bonus space into a home office and media room. Throughout the season, eager homeowners will follow the expert’s advice to make over their spaces one step at a time — from overhauling a boring kid’s bedroom to transforming an unused screened porch into a functional homework space. The families include a firefighter, an ER nurse, a cafeteria worker and several parents who are simultaneously remote working and homeschooling their children. Now the families must navigate the added challenges of spouses working together on home projects, kids acting as camera operators and pets vying for attention.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Don’t on ABC at 9/8c. Executive produced by Ryan Reynolds and hosted by Adam Scott, the show is a comedic physical game show where doing nothing is what it takes to win (finally!). Contestants are given the opportunity to team up with their family and friends for the chance to win a cash prize of up to $100,000 by tackling hilarious tasks, each with the simple rule: “DON’T.” In each episode, members of a four-person team strive to accomplish various challenges, such as “Don’t Blink,” “Don’t Look Back” and “Don’t Play Ball in the House,” as they work together to build their bank. If they fail a challenge, they don’t earn money and suffer ridiculous consequences. Along the way, they’ll have the choice to take risks by pushing the Don’t Push Button or taking a chance on a Don’t You Dare, You. In the end, whatever money they have left in their bank — if anything — is theirs to keep. The series is voiced by Ryan Reynolds and features hilarious, unexpected moments that break from the traditional game show format.

Tonight is the series premiere of House Hunters: Comedians on Couches on HGTV at 10/9c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10:30/9:30c. If you’re a House Hunters fan, you know the drill. We all do it. We don’t just watch House Hunters — we watch and compose that internal (or out loud) running commentary — on the houses, the agents and the house-hunters themselves. The quirky obsessions, the questionable decorating choices, absurd wish lists and clichéd reactions. “No granite countertops?” “Oh, that’s the bigger closet. That one’s mine.” “That’s nice, but I’m looking for something more open-concept.” You get the idea. It’s practically universal and actually something of a phenomenon. There are House Hunters drinking games where participants imbibe every time a ubiquitous HH buzz-phrase gets uttered. There’s House Hunters bingo. Same basic idea, but the booze is optional. It’s a show that practically begs for the Mystery Science 3000 treatment, right? Done. In a four-night, star-studded special event (premiere dates coming soon) HGTV presents House Hunters: Comedians on Couches. (Get the reference? Thought so.) HGTV’s most fun-to-make-fun-of show gets a bold new twist when seven popular comedians deliver unexpurgated, no-holds-barred color commentary on classic episodes of the phenomenally long-running series. In keeping with the era of social distancing, the commentary and dialog will take the form of a videoconference, with the comics calling out the victories and agonizing defeats deriving from dubious real-estate savvy, unusual paint-color choices, and the nuances of matte finish vs. high-gloss. The House Hunters: Comedians on Couches celebrity lineup is presided over by actors and comedy writers Dan Levy and Natasha Leggero and features their comedian friends Whitney Cummings, Eliot Glazer, John Mulaney, Chris Redd and J.B. Smoove.

Overnight was the complete first season premiere of Crossing Swords on Hulu. Created by Robot Chicken’s John Harvatine IV and Tom Root, the show stars Nicholas Hoult as Patrick, a good hearted peasant who lands a coveted squire position at the royal castle. However, his dream job quickly turns into a nightmare when he learns his beloved kingdom is run by a hornet’s nest of horny monarchs, crooks and charlatans. Even worse, Patrick’s valor made him the black sheep in his family, and now his criminal siblings have returned to make his life hell. War, murder, full frontal nudity — who knew brightly colored peg people led such exciting lives? It also stars Adam Pally, Adam Ray, Alanna Ubach, Luke Evans, Maya Erskine, Seth Green, Tara Strong, Tony Hale, Wendi McClendon-Covey, & Yvette-Nicole Brown.

Saturday

Saturday is the series premiere of Partners in Crime on Ovation at 7/6c. This is an espionage adventure series about a suburban married couple, Tommy and Tuppence Beresford, who solve mysteries and foil plots in ’50s Cold War Britain. Based on Agatha Christie’s classic characters, Tommy (David Walliams) and Tuppence (Jessica Raine) may approach their cases in a somewhat haphazard manner, but their natural guile and derringdo are more than a match for the spies, assassins and double agents that stand in their way. The series comprises two stories, “The Secret Adversary,” where our heroes search simultaneously for a missing girl and a recording that could identify a Soviet hit man living within our midst, and then “N or M?”, where they must identify which person in a guesthouse in a coastal town has stolen a nuclear bomb…before it’s too late.

Overnight was also the final part 2 season premiere (and also series finale) of Alexa & Katie on Netflix, and tonight is the season finales of Mark of a Killer on Oxygen at 7/6c and Fear Not with Iyanla Vanzant on OWN at 9/8c.
