Tonight is also the series premiere of Connecting… on NBC at 8/7c. This is an ensemble comedy about a group of friends trying to stay close (and sane) through video chats as they share the highs and lows of these extraordinary times. It comes from the creator/executive producer of Blindspot, Martin Gero, and stars Ely Henry (Roadies, Skin, Suburgatory), Jill Knox, Keith Powell (30 Rock), Otmara Marrero (StartUp), Parvesh Cheena (Outsourced, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Preacher Lawson (America’s Got Talent), & Shakina Nayfack (Transparent, Difficult People).

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Phantom Signals on Science Channel at 10/9c. We are surrounded by an endless stream of infinite data, with information bombarding us from seemingly every direction. These signals, which are part of our everyday operations, help define our understanding of the Universe, and largely go unnoticed. That is until a glitch occurs. A blip on a screen, a faulty frequency, or a mysterious interference -0 what are these unknown signals? Where are they coming from? And what do they really mean? Experts investigate these mysterious phenomena, explore whether life exists beyond our universe and breakdown the meaning behind these puzzling signals.

Just in time for Halloween, Alton Brown tells the mysterious tale of a ghoulish 100-year-old cookbook in the cinematic Good Eats primetime special “The House That Dripped Chocolate.” Shot in black and white, the story begins when a cook, played by Brown, buys an old candy cookbook that turns out to be cursed. According to Josie Hughes’ (Chaley Rose, A Christmas Duet, Dinner for Two) family lore, the wedding bouquet always finds the right person. When single Josie catches her friend Emma’s (Luisa d’Oliveira, Channel Zero, Cracked) bouquet instead of their not-single friend Athena (Rebecca Olson), she fears she’s ruined Athena’s chances of getting engaged. When Josie starts dating an eligible bachelor she met at the reception, she decides the bouquet is at work. What she doesn’t know is her long-time friend Alex (Nathan Witte, Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding) secretly holds a torch for her. As Josie clings to the notion that the bouquet is always right, she’s missing real-world signs that her perfect match has been in front of her all along.
