Tonight is the series premiere of Supermarket Sweep on ABC at 8/7c. Hosted and executive produced by comedienne and actress Leslie Jones, this fast-paced and energetic series follows three teams of two as they battle it out using their grocery shopping skills and knowledge of merchandise to win big cash prizes. The original format aired on ABC from 1965-1967 and went on to become a global sensation, including runs in the 1990s and early 2000s. Back-to-back games follow three teams of two, clad in iconic colorful sweatshirts, as they compete against one another using their grocery shopping skills and knowledge of merchandise. Teams compete against each other for the chance to become the winning duo to play in the “Super Sweep,” a race against the clock to find five products in order to win $100,000. Taking Supermarket Sweep to primetime has made everything bigger and better while holding true to what made the original show so sensational. A whimsical grocery store was built from the ground up; big-ticket items were stocked on shelves for contestants to place in carts, and the final cash grand prize amount was amplified.

Tonight is also the series premiere of The Trouble with Maggie Cole on PBS at 8/7c. Set in an idyllic English fishing village, this six-part comedic drama follows the titular character as she navigates the repercussions of her idle gossip. The ensemble cast is led by Dawn French (The Vicar of Dibley), Mark Heap (Friday Night Dinner), Julie Hesmondhalgh (Broadchurch), Vicki Pepperdine (The Windsors), and Patrick Robinson (Casualty). Set in the picturesque village of Thurlbury, the series centers on Maggie Cole (French), the self-appointed oracle of this close-knit community, who, when interviewed by a local radio reporter, shares one too many juicy details about some notable residents in the community. The series chronicles the fallouts, fights and consequences resulting from the broadcast, not sparing a soul in the small town. The Trouble with Maggie Cole is a warmly humorous yet distinctly cautionary tale about the perils of passing on unfounded gossip.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Seduced: Inside the NXIVM Cult on Starz at 9/8c. The show chronicles the extraordinary and harrowing journey of India Oxenberg — the daughter of Hollywood actress Catherine Oxenberg and a descendant of European royalty — who was seduced into the modern-day sex-slave cult NXIVM. More than 17,000 people, including India, enrolled in NXIVM’s “Executive Success Programs,” a front for the cult and a hunting ground for its leader, master predator Keith Raniere. Women in DOS, a secret master-slave society within NXIVM, were sex-trafficked and branded with a cauterizing iron. Both about a mother trying to save her daughter and recovery from trauma, the series follows India’s seduction, indoctrination, enslavement, escape – and her role as “co-conspirator” in assisting the U.S. government with bringing down Raniere and his criminal enterprise. In addition to being a rigorous and unsparing examination of India’s abuse and her own culpability, it explores how India and a chorus of other women are still grappling to make sense of their experience. The series also showcases extensive insider footage and exposes the inner circle of enablers around Keith Raniere.

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Halloween Freakshow Cakes on Food Network at 10:30/9:30c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 11/10c. In each episode of this one of-a-kind cake showdown co-hosted by Vivian Chan and Zac Young, three sinister cake artists step into a side-show tent to whip up the freakiest cakes imaginable. The baker who showcases the most wildly imaginative and hair-raising cake design wins $10,000 and the title of Halloween Freakshow Champion.

Overnight was the release of the feature film Roald Dahl’s The Witches on HBO Max.  Reimagining Roald Dahl’s beloved story for a modern audience, Robert Zemeckis’s visually innovative film tells the darkly humorous and heartwarming tale of a young orphaned boy who, in late 1967, goes to live with his loving Grandma in the rural Alabama town of Demopolis. As the boy and his grandmother encounter some deceptively glamorous but thoroughly diabolical witches, she wisely whisks him away to a seaside resort. Regrettably, they arrive at precisely the same time that the world’s Grand High Witch has gathered her fellow cronies from around the globe—undercover—to carry out her nefarious plans. Zemeckis is joined by a world-class team of filmmakers, including Alfonso Cuarón, Guillermo del Toro and Kenya Barris. The cast includes powerhouse performances from Anne Hathaway, Octavia Spencer, Stanley Tucci, Kristin Chenoweth and Chris Rock, with newcomer Jahzir Kadeen Bruno as the brave young hero.

Overnight was the complete first season premiere of Move on Netflix. Discover the brilliant dancers and choreographers who are shaping the art of movement around the world in this documentary series.

Overnight was also the complete first season premiere of The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix. During the Cold War era, an orphaned chess prodigy struggles with addiction on a quest to become the greatest player in the world. It stars Anna Taylor-Joy, Bill Camp, Marielle Heller, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Moses Ingram, Harry Melling, Isla Johnston, Christiane Seidel, Rebecca Root, Chloe Pirrie, & Jacob Fortune-Lloyd.

Tonight is the series premiere of Put a Ring on It on OWN at 10/9c. Will Packer’s newest unscripted relationship series follows three longtime couples, with help from master relationship coach Dr. Nicole LaBeach, who embark on the ultimate relationship test. From week to week the couples are pushed outside their comfort zones to confront the question they’ve been too afraid to ask: is this their happily ever after? The couples will finally find out if they are truly meant to be together by dating other people, and in so doing they’ll discover if there’s a love connection they’ve been missing all along. Will they decide it’s time to go their separate ways, or is it finally time to put a ring on it?

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of How To with John Wilson on HBO at 11/10c. Documentary filmmaker and self-described “anxious New Yorker” John Wilson makes his HBO debut as writer, director, cameraman, producer, and narrator of the all-new six-episode docu-comedy series. In a uniquely hilarious odyssey of self-discovery and cultural observation, Wilson covertly and obsessively films the lives of his fellow New Yorkers while attempting to give everyday advice on relatable topics. The awkward contradictions of modern life are eased by Wilson’s candid, unpolished commentary, with season one’s episodes offering up his distinct take on a range of deceivingly simple topics. Building upon Wilson’s previously released “how to” short films, the episodes take wildly unexpected turns but are grounded in John’s refreshing honesty.
