If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/21/20

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Jenny’s Choice

I’m so excited because tonight’s the premiere of both The Goldbergs and The Conners. (There’s also the premiere of black-ish to complete ABC’s premiere night, but I’m not watching it.)

To start off, we get a double episode of The Goldbergs, and they’re doing it in style, taking on the classic 1980s movie Airplane with an episode titled…well…”Airplane!” Beverly surprises the family with an end-of-summer vacation to Miami with the flight down resembling the classic film, and Geoff accidentally spills to Erica the real reason for the trip. Then in “The Prettiest Boy in School,” Adam, now a senior, returns to William Penn Academy as he wrestles with the fact that he is a cool kid and no longer a nerd while his original friend group isn’t as lucky. Meanwhile, Beverly attempts to have a more grown-up relationship with Erica and Barry before they head back to college.

It’s hard to imagine Adam as A) a senior and B) a cool kid. LOL So I can’t wait to see that!

Then on The Conners’ premiere episode, “Keep on Truckin’ Six Feet Apart,” the Conners are back and dealing with the pandemic, and life’s financial troubles loom over the family. Dan is still trying to catch up on back-mortgage payments and avoid a potential eviction, while the Lunch Box is closed for everything but takeout and delivery. Becky and Darlene are both forced to search for additional income at the newly reopened Wellman Plastics plant. Danny Trejo, Katey Segal, & Rene Rosado guest star.

Not all shows are going to include real-life problems like the pandemic into them, but we’ve seen how The Conners can do that, so this will be interesting! Especially given some of the things I’ve read about this season! 😉

Don’t miss ABC’s comedy premieres tonight starting at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Devils, The Amazing Race, Coroner, & Guy’s Grocery Games.
