Tonight is the series premiere of Run the World on Starz at 8:31/7:31c. Set in Harlem, the show follows a group of smart, funny, and vibrant thirty-something Black women – fiercely loyal best friends – who live, work and play in Harlem. As they strive for world domination, they each navigate career highs and lows, hookups and heartbreaks that causes them to re-evaluate who they are and where they are going. At its core, it’s an authentic and unapologetic show about enviable friendship and not only surviving – but thriving together. The series stars Amber Stevens West (The Carmichael Show) as “Whitney,” a perfectionist who almost always plays by the rules; Andrea Bordeaux (NCIS: Los Angeles) as “Ella,” an audacious romantic, who is figuring out what she truly wants both personally and professionally; Bresha Webb (Marlon) as “Renee,” the vivacious, soon-to-be-divorced diva with a seemingly thriving career; and Corbin Reid (Valor) as “Sondi,” an erudite professional who begins to reevaluate both her career and personal priorities.

Tonight is the series premiere of Death and Nightingales on Starz at 10/9c. Death and Nightingales is a riveting story of love, betrayal, deception and revenge, set in the haunting countryside of 1885 Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. In this undivided province of the British Empire, neighbors observe each other and inform. It’s a world of spies, confessions and double dealing; where a pervading sense of beauty is shot through with menace and impending doom. Set over a desperately tense 24-hour period, it’s Beth Winters’ (Ann Skelly) 23rd birthday – the day she has decided to join the charming Liam Ward (Jamie Dornan) and escape from her limited life and difficult Protestant landowner stepfather Billy (Matthew Rhys). As decades of pain and betrayal build to a devastating climax, Death and Nightingales is a powerful and gripping drama that follows a woman struggling to control her own destiny and will illuminate tensions that tear both families and nations apart. The three-part limited series stars three-time Golden Globe(R) nominee Matthew Rhys (The Americans, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, Perry Mason), IFTA Award Nominee Ann Skelly (Vikings, The Nevers) and BAFTA Award Nominee Jamie Dornan (Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar; The Fall) and is written, directed and executive produced by Allan Cubitt (The Fall; Prime Suspect 2).

Tonight is the series premiere of Fall River on Epix at 10/9c. In 1979 – almost 90 years after infamous, accused murderer Lizzie Borden’s notorious acquittal – Fall River, Massachusetts would become home to another terrifying series of crimes. When three young women were killed in a streak of brutal murders, police alleged a satanic cult was practicing human sacrifice. The cult leader, a man named Carl Drew, was captured and sent to prison for life without parole. Twenty years after the trial, the lead investigator Paul Carey became so haunted by inconsistencies in the stories that he re-investigated his own case after he retired. Evidence surfaced that brought the entire story into question. Now through exclusive interviews, including intimate conversations with Drew, new witnesses and illuminating evidence, this documentary series will tell the true story of a town caught in the grips of the paranoia and fear around the 1980s Satanic Panic, and will shed light on murders that were thought to have been solved.

Tonight is the series premiere of Life at the Waterhole on PBS at 8/7c. Waterholes are vital to the African ecosystem; bustling oases where elephants, lions, leopards and hundreds of other species meet and compete for water. But little is known about how they support so much life. The BBC Studios Natural History Unit and PBS worked with Mwiba Wildlife Reserve and local communities in Tanzania to build the world’s first waterhole with a built-in specialist camera rig. With half-submerged and weather-proofed remote cameras, Dr. M. Sanjayan leads a team to uncover the complex dynamics of the waterhole for the very first time. Filming takes place across three dramatic periods: the middle of the dry season, the hottest time of year and the height of the first rains to gain unique insights into the lives of some of Africa’s most iconic animals. As warthogs, giraffes, monkeys and big cats all jostle for position at the new waterhole the team uncovers the increasingly important role of water in Africa as its wildlife faces the growing impact of climate change.

Ultimately, the sessions are meant to uncover what happened on the night of someone’s death. To do that, Emma must find out the truth around Connie’s complex relationship with her beautiful best friend, Ness (Thalissa Teixeira, Two Weeks to Live), which seemingly triggered Connie’s heinous behavior. Other series stars include James Sives (Chernobyl, Annika), Risteárd Cooper (Quiz), Chizzy Akudolu (Holby City), Karl Johnson, Eileen Davies (Doctors, Liar), Nina Wadia (EastEnders), and Paul Chahidi (This Country).

Overnight was the complete first season premiere of The Bite on Spectrum. From creators Robert and Michelle King (The Good Fight, The Good Wife, Evil) comes an unexpected and jaw-dropping six-episode new series. The show follows the lives of two neighbors Rachel (Audra McDonald, The Good Fight, Private Practice) and Lily (Taylor Schilling, Orange is the New Black) as they embark on unprecedented times when a deadly new strain of a virus arrives. Navigating the new normal in New York City, Rachel works from home juggling her many telemedicine clients and a shaky marriage to her husband Dr. Zach (Steven Pasquale, The Comey Rule) who has a prestigious job at the CDC miles away in Washington D.C. Meanwhile, Lily is upstairs trying to convince her Wall Street clientele that her very specific skillset is still just as valuable through a video screen as it was in person. The show also stars Leslie Uggams, Phillipa Soo, & Will Swenson.

Tonight is the series premiere of Inside the Met on PBS at 9/8c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10/9c. The documentary series goes behind the scenes of the largest art museum in the Americas, as curators prepare to celebrate the iconic institution’s 150th birthday in 2020 through ambitious landmark exhibitions. Plans for celebrations, however, are halted when the COVID-19 pandemic hits and The Met must close indefinitely. Then, in the wake of the killing of George Floyd in May 2020, the museum is forced to look inward and re-examine its record on diversity, inclusion and how it presents its collection. Featuring interviews with artists, museum curators, conservators, directors and visitors, the series shows the 19th-century institution grappling with how to change and remain relevant in the 21st century.

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Pause with Sam Jay on HBO at 9/8c. This is a new, half-hour, late night talk series created by Emmy-nominated writer and stand-up comedian Sam Jay (Saturday Night Live, Sam Jay: 3 In The Morning) and Prentice Penny (Insecure) that takes a new approach to late-night conversations and plunges into the cultural issues that divide us from a fresh lens. Each week, Sam hosts a party at her apartment, where she and her guests explore current topics. Conversations are further expanded upon throughout the episode with additional interviews, sketches, and animation. In an era of discord, Sam sets out to listen, learn, and ask questions to those with different perspectives.
