One of the most mysterious of these objects is the famed Ark of the Covenant. The Ark’s exact whereabouts has long puzzled scholars. Where did it go? And why has it remained such a mystery? Follows a team of experts using the latest science and research in search of answers. This real-life treasure hunt will follow the clues, hidden in the most extraordinary places – from the Holy Land to the countries that surround it. Along the way, the team of researchers will examine its many unsolved mysteries. What did the Ark look like? What was its purpose? And did it actually exist at all?

Overnight was the series premiere of Chopped Next Gen on Discovery+. With youth comes unflappable confidence, as four chefs compete in each hour-long episode through three rounds to bring a youthful spin on dishes never seen or tasted before. A recurring panel of some of the culinary world’s up-and-coming stars – Nyesha Arrington, Darnell Ferguson, Mei Lin, Esdras Ochoa and Kwame Onwuachi – judge each competitor’s dish based on taste, presentation and how creative their vision is. Only one chef walks away each episode with the cash prize and bragging rights in adding Chopped Next Gen champion to their growing resume. The chefs have their work cut out for them in an episode with scorpion powder and scungilli in the appetizer basket. Host Liza Koshy keeps the entrée round meat free with a plant-based charcuterie board and red snapper. And see if the remaining two chefs are delighted to get uni in the dessert round. Other episodes include cured tuna hearts and mushrooms that inspire two chefs to put a novel spin on Italian cuisine; and the chefs prove their worth by integrating baby bananas and duck confit into a delicious and inventive dessert.

In the show’s second season, the famed chef expands his horizons to other areas of Southeast Asia — exploring the regional cuisine in Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand. But he’s Gordon Ramsay, so he doesn’t just taste the food — he also prepares dishes using the delicacies that aren’t found in many other parts of the world. The experience leads to Ramsay reviewing his own relationship with food and his opinion of what is — and is not — acceptable to eat.

Now, guided by the legend of Akakor and equipped with the latest technology, an international team of investigators are following in the footsteps of those missing explorers. They’re aiming to solve a dual mystery. First, do Akakor and Akahim exist? And second, what happened to those explorers who went missing? Led by Irish investigate journalist, Paul Connolly, the team will include American geologist and explorer Dr. Martin Pepper, Brazilian wilderness doctor Dr. Karina Oliani, former FBI Agent Bobby Chacon, British survival expert Megan Hine and tech expert Brennon Edwards. Their journey will begin in the dark jungles of Peru, east of the Andes, where Akakor is said to be located. From there, they’ll trek to northern Brazil – the rumored site of Akahim, and the last known location of the missing explorers. The deeper they go into the jungle, the stranger and darker the mystery becomes. In an effort to solve this mystery once and for all, their search leads them to come face to face with the only man who may have the answers – river guide, Tatunca Nara.

Overnight was the premiere of the feature film Cruella on Disney+ (Premier Access). Emma Stone stars in Disney’s Cruella, an all-new live-action feature film about the rebellious early days of one of cinemas most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil. Cruella, which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute, played by Emma Thompson. But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella. It also stars Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham, & Kirby Howell-Baptiste. The movie will stream for regular Disney+ accounts at the end of August 2021.
