The Rookie has been one of my favorites since it premiered, so I am super excited about the new spinoff, The Rookie: Feds. Niecy Nash is hilarious, and when she had a guest appearance on the original, she was super entertaining and really made me want to keep watching her. She makes a fantastic FBI agent, and I love the fact that the franchise is branching off to bring us some more comedic crime fighting.

On tonight’s episode, “Day One,” fresh out of the FBI Academy, Simone Clark arrives in Los Angeles and has her sights set on joining Matthew Garza’s newly formed special unit as they investigate the murder of a federal engineer. Garza’s squad includes Carter Hope, a promotion-hungry traditionalist, Laura Stenson, a talented agent in desperate need of a second chance, and Brendon Acres, a former actor who graduated from Quantico with Simone. On the home front, Simone and Cutty’s father-daughter relationship is put to the test as their opposing opinions about law enforcement come to a head.

Find out how Simone does in Los Angeles tonight on ABC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching FBI, The Voice, The Resident, FBI: International, FBI: Most Wanted, and New Amsterdam.

It’s a big night of premieres on Food Network for me. First up is Bobby’s Triple Threat. Bobby Flay is no stranger to cooking competitions, but this time, he’s not the one doing the cooking. Instead, he’s brought in three huge names in the culinary world: Brooke Williamson, Tiffany Derry, and Michael Voltaggio, all handpicked by Bobby himself. Brooke won season 1 of Tournament of Champions and season 14 of Top Chef. Tiffany competed twice on Top Chef, coming in fifth (and winning “fan favorite”) on season 7 and fourth in the All-Stars season 8. She was also part of Tournament of Champions. Michael won season 6 of Top Chef and appeared not only in Tournament of Champions, but has been on a few TV shows as himself, along with judging multiple cooking competitions such as Guy’s Grocery Games. All around, they are a definite triple threat.

On this new series, one highly skilled chef takes on Bobby’s three culinary Titans. The chef competes against a different Titan in three head-to-head cooking rounds featuring surprise ingredients. If the competitor can beat the Titans’ combined score, they’ll walk away with $25,000.

On tonight’s episode, “Titans vs Jonathon Sawyer,” heavy-hitting chef Jonathon Sawyer fights for his life against Bobby Flay’s Titans. In the final round, one chef risks it all by making pasta for legendary Italian chef and judge Nancy Silverton.

Don’t miss the exciting action tonight on Food Network at 9/8c.

Following that is the series premiere of Outchef’d. Food Network star Eddie Jackson surprises amateur home cooks with the challenge of a lifetime: to go head-to-head in an intense, one-round cookoff against the most-competitive, acclaimed, and intimidating celebrity chefs in the world. To even the odds, the home cook only needs is ONE VOTE from a panel of random tasters to walk away with the $5,000 prize.

On tonight’s first of two episodes, “Antonia Lofaso vs. Derek,” Eddie surprises theater teacher and home cook Derek with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go up against famous chef and restaurateur Antonia Lofaso. Derek will have to work hard to cook his way to victory in their battle of the brunch.

Then on the second episode, “Alex Guarnaschelli vs. Jimmy,” Eddie raises the stakes as he surprises home cook and real estate agent Jimmy with a beefy battle against world-famous chef Alex Guarnaschelli. Jimmy aims to impress at least one taster with his steak and stop Alex from taking the win.

See if the home cooks can beat celebrity chefs and major competitors Antonia Lofaso & Alex Guarnaschelli tonight on Food Network at 10/9c & 10:30/9:30c.

I’ll also be watching FBI, FBI: International, FBI: Most Wanted, & The Rookie: Feds.
