If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/19/22

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Jenny’s Choice

Last week’s The Goldbergs was pretty funny and sweet—something the show is known for. Barry decided that since their dad was gone, he was going to be the man of the house, and that meant treating Adam like a father. Not THEIR father, mind you, since Murray was a bit of a different, uninvolved, father most of the time. Barry basically smothered him with too much attention and affection, including giving him a book about his “changing body.” It was hilarious. Erica’s story line was a little less funny but ended on a sweet note. She graduated early from school, having worked super hard to finish before the baby comes. But when all anyone could focus on was the baby and baby shower, she was sad and disappointed. In the end, when she reminded everyone, you could tell they felt bad about it, and they finally gave her the congratulations and attention she deserved.

On tonight’s episode, “Uncle-ing,” with her due date approaching, Erica is over the exhausting pregnancy and demands a “babymoon.” When things take an unforeseen turn, Geoff is tasked with producing the one person Erica needs more than anyone. Meanwhile, Adam and Barry seek out advice on “uncle-ing” from some unexpected sources.

Find out who Erica needs (my guess is Beverly…) tonight on ABC at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching Chicago Med, Survivor, The Conners, Chicago Fire, Guy’s Ultimate Game Night, Chicago PD, & The Amazing Race.

Megan’s Choice

Chicago Fire came out of the gate this season with hard-hitting episodes, and I am loving every moment of it. Stella has been front and center in a lot of episodes lately, which is always good, because where there’s Stella, there’s always excitement. Whether it is her feisty attitude or her fighting fires, this girl never leaves anything on the table. Recently we’ve been watching as she works out her thoughts on the new member of 51, Carver. They went to the academy together, so there is definitely some old competition there, but what is worrying me is that last episode, Carver ended up in the drunk tank and Kidd bailed him out. I’m concerned that he will end up causing a lot of issues in the house, but time will tell. I think Carver means well but has a lot of personal things going on that are preventing him from being the great guy he could be. I just hope that the writers know better than to have Carver and Kidd start flirting and mess with Kidd and Severide’s relationship, because those two have been through enough.

On tonight’s episode, “Haunted House,” Firehouse 51 hosts a Halloween open house. Kidd and Severide help a young girl after she gets kicked out of her home.

To see how Kidd and Severide come to the rescue again, tune in to NBC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Chicago Med, Chicago PD, The Amazing Race, The Masked Singer, and DC’s Stargirl.
