Tonight is the series premiere of Accused on Fox at 10/9c. From Emmy Award-winning producer Howard Gordon, the co-creator of landmark television, such as Homeland, and the showrunner of 24, comes Accused — a collection of 15 intense, topical, and exquisitely human stories of crime and punishment. Each episode is a fast-paced provocative thriller, exploring a different crime, in a different city, with an entirely original cast. Based on the BBC’s BAFTA-winning crime anthology, Accused opens in a courtroom on the defendant, with viewers knowing nothing about their crime or how they ended up on trial. Told from the defendant’s point of view through flashbacks, the show holds a mirror up to current times with evocative and emotional stories. In the end, audiences will discover how an ordinary person gets caught up in extraordinary circumstances, and how one impulsive decision can impact the course of that life — and the lives of others — forever. Developed by Howard Gordon (Homeland, 24) and executive-produced by Gordon, Alex Gansa (Homeland, 24) and David Shore (House, The Good Doctor), Accused once again fearlessly takes on the hottest topics of our time.

The premiere episode recounts the heartbreaking death of Drew Carey’s ex-fiancé and renowned Hollywood sex therapist, Dr. Amie Harwick, who was found murdered the day after Valentine’s Day. Police are left to investigate who might be capable of such a deadly act. Additional episodes explore the cold-blooded murder of The Voice sensation and rising star, Christina Grimmie, whose YouTube channel attracted a stalker with sinister motivations; Macedonian model Adea Shabani who arrives in Los Angeles with big dreams then mysteriously goes missing; actor Lloyd Avery II’s overnight success after starring in Boyz N the Hood and who then goes on the run in a bizarre portrayal of life imitating art; and more.

Following that is the series premiere of The Playboy Murders on ID at 10/9c. The series reveals tragedies that span decades of the once-iconic brand. Additional stories featured include Stacy Arthur, the middle-American mom who spent hours on Playboy’s premium 1-900 number, attracting one fan’s fatal obsession; the Playboy Club romance of Carole Gold and husband Charles that puts a Bunny behind bars; former Playboy cyber girl Christina Carlin-Kraft whose promising future is dashed after a night out on the town; and more.

Tonight is the complete first season premiere of Extraordinary on Hulu at 12:01AM/11:01PMc. The show is set in a world where everyone develops a power on their 18th birthday…everyone, that is, except for Jen. She’s turning 25 and is still waiting to get hers. She’s not even fussy about what that could be: Super speed? Laser eyes? The ability to plug in a USB the right way every single time? She’ll take it. Like a caterpillar surrounded by butterflies, Jen feels unable to move forward, stuck in a dead-end job in a party shop and occasionally hooking up with Luke, a flaky young man with the irritatingly cool ability to fly. Luckily, Jen has Carrie to stop her from wallowing in her own self-pity. Inseparable since school, their relationship cycles between sister, parent, and wingman. Together they share an East London flat with Carrie’s long-term boyfriend, Kash. Carrie has the power to channel the dead but feels she’s been overshadowed by her own party trick: doesn’t anyone care about what she has to say? Kash takes his power – the ability to turn back time – very seriously, but he’s not above using it to undo minor embarrassments, or moments when he says exactly the wrong thing to long-suffering Carrie. The fourth member of the flat is a stray cat, named Jizzlord by the gang, who’s harbouring a surprising secret: turns out even cats have more power than Jen. Adrift in a big, confusing world and armed with nothing but a bit of hope and a lot of desperation, Jen begins her journey to find her maybe-superpower. But in doing so, she might discover the joy of being just kind of ok. It stars Bilal Hasna, Luke Rollason, Máiréad Tyers, Ned Porteous, Robbie Gee, Safia Oakley-Green, Siobhan McSweeney, & Sofia Oxenham.

Tonight is the series premiere of Frozen Planet II on BBC America at 8/7c. Over a decade ago, four-time Emmy(R)-winning series Frozen Planet gave viewers unprecedented insight into life in the Poles. Now, the highly-anticipated sequel, Frozen Planet II, returns to the Arctic and Antarctic to observe the amazing species that thrive there. But, going further than the first season, it also explores life beyond the Poles – witnessing the wildlife dramas that play out in all the world’s coldest regions: our high mountains, frozen deserts, snowbound forests, and ice-cold oceans. These are the last true wildernesses on earth; places so challenging for survival that only a heroic cast of animals can live here. From polar bears to penguins, Siberian tigers to snow monkeys, each species must overcome unique challenges to survive their extreme environments. Narrated by Emmy(R)-winning famed naturalist Sir David Attenborough.
