Tonight is the series premiere of Naked and Afraid Castaways on Discovery Channel at 8/7c. In the middle of the Pacific Ocean, stranded with only wreckage to survive, a new generation of elite survivalists will take on a seemingly impossible challenge. Nine challengers are abandoned at a remote tropical island, with no maps or tools, miles away from civilization. In teams of three, they must swim to different ecosystems on the same island – sun-scorched beach, twisted mangrove swamp and dense jungle – to begin their distinct survival journeys. They must use only their navigational skills and fashion everything they need to survive from wreckage and debris strewn across the island, including a shipwreck, an abandoned military jeep and a crashed airplane. Without knives, pots, and fire starters, challengers will need to scavenge the area to find what they need to create those items from scratch, using only their ingenuity and will to survive. In a Naked and Afraid franchise first, remaining survivalists will need to travel to the same extraction point on Day 21 and signal a boat for rescue.

Tonight is the series premiere of Survive the Raft on Discovery Channel at 9:01/8:01c. The series explores what happens when strangers from all walks of life come together to live and work at sea. The nine-episode social experiment was inspired by Mexican anthropologist Santiago Genovés’ 1973 behavioral study that observed whether humans from diverse cultures and backgrounds could set aside their differences and work together during a 101-day voyage on the Acali. Now, fifty years later, Discovery Channel revisits his groundbreaking work with a new raft and a new twist on the original mission. Hosted by United States Army Green Beret, NFL football player and actor, Nate Boyer.

Tonight is the series premiere of Witness to Murder: Digital Evidence on A&E at 9/8c. The show reveals how technology has become the new frontier in solving homicides, illustrating the surprising ways that cell phone data, smart watches, fitness trackers, GPS devices, geolocation coordinates, doorbell and traffic cameras, gaming devices, surveillance video, internet searches, apps, and social media messages can be the critical clues in murder investigations.

Tonight is the series premiere of Women on Death Row on A&E at 10/9c. The show tells the stories of America’s most rarefied criminals: women who have been convicted of murder and sentenced to the ultimate punishment—the death penalty. Each episode profiles a harrowing crime and trial through exclusive interviews with the convicted women, witnesses, family members of victims, family members of the convicted women, attorneys, and law enforcement officials. The series also covers the appeals process, including resentencing in some cases, and looks at how new legislation in some states impacts the conditions under which the convicted women live in prison as they await their fate.

Today is the series premiere of Beyond the Headlines on Lifetime at 11AM/10AMc. Beyond the Headlines explores shocking true crime cases that made national headlines through interviews with survivors, investigators and experts. Hosted by Emmy award winning TV journalist Ana Garcia.

Tonight is the series premiere of Recipe for Disaster on the CW at 9/8c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 9:30/8:30c. In each episode of Recipe for Disaster, three professional chefs and their cooking buddies compete to prepare spectacular dishes under absurdly adverse conditions. Our studio transforms into a bizarre new world each week, replete with themed disasters that challenge our chefs in ways they never imagined. They will attempt the perfect sear while stuck on a “sinking cruise ship” during a tropical storm, try their hand at risotto while bouncing in baby jumpers, or create earth-shattering gnocchi with nothing but a chisel and rock hammer while dining with dinosaurs. To make matters worse, their cooking buddies are people from their lives who are total kitchen novices. Who will impress the judges, and whose dishes will succumb to the ridiculous disasters du jour? Ultimately, only one team will be crowned Masters of Disaster!

Tonight is the series premiere of The Wild Sides on BBC America at 8/7c. The first 3 episodes are also available on AMC+. In the extreme landscape of Mashatu in Botswana, all animal families’ paths cross; each one’s plot is affected by the next. Elephants, cheetahs, leopards, jackals, and baboons live together as their home experiences drought, flood, and abundance.
