Tonight is the 3-episode series premiere of Strange Planet on Apple TV+ at 12:01AM/11:01PMc. Based on the New York Times No. 1 bestselling graphic novel and social media phenomenon of the same name, this adult animated comedy is a hilarious and perceptive look at a distant world not unlike our own. Set in a whimsical world of cotton candy pinks and purples, relatable blue beings explore the absurdity of everyday human traditions. Overnight was the premiere of the documentary film Untold: Johnny Football on Netflix This documentary traces the meteoric rise and precipitous fall of football star Johnny Manziel via interviews with friends, coaches and Manziel himself.

Tonight is the series premiere of Superfan on CBS at 9/8c. The new musical game show with hosts Nate Burleson and Keltie Knight will feature contestants vying in multiple rounds of play to prove they are their favorite artist’s most deserving supporter. Each episode features one music superstar as they crown their biggest fan. This season’s featured celebrities include Kelsea Ballerini, Gloria Estefan, Little Big Town, LL COOL J, Pitbull and Shania Twain.

Overnight was the complete first season premiere of Broken Ties on Sundance Now. In this spine-chilling mystery, Ami, a cunning and obsessive Israeli investigator, exposes an international crime syndicate dealing in the trafficking of newborn babies. Marginalized women from Israel, among other places, are secretly flown to Europe to give birth in a designated farm in the forest. In a race against the clock and as more babies disappear, Ami partners with Audrey, a brave and rigidly professional European investigator making enormous efforts to locate the missing children. Meanwhile, Ami recruits Haya, a pregnant homeless woman who has been chosen for the syndicate’s next child-harvesting flight to Europe. The causes and consequences of America’s opioid epidemic unfold in this drama following its perpetrators, victims and an investigator seeking the truth. Tonight is the series premiere of Fight to Survive on The CW at 8/7c. In this collaboration between The CW and Roku, Akbar Gbajabiamila is host of a social experiment in primitive survivalism—with a competitive twist. 17 competitors—including former Survivor, Alone, Naked and Afraid, and American Ninja Warrior contestants—must survive 25 days on a remote tropical island combatting brutal conditions—and each other—to win $250,000. In one of the most intense survival of the fittest competitions ever televised, the competitors battle one another for essential tools and resources in the fight to survive.
 
Tonight is the series premiere of Alone Australia on History Channel at 10:30/9:30c. In this highly-rated international version of Alone, which originally aired on SBS, ten skilled outdoor survivalists are on a mission to endure brutal conditions and be the last one standing. After being dropped off in the vast and isolated Tasmanian wilderness, each participant must self-document living completely alone with limited supplies and no human contact. Additional challenges include building their own shelter, adapting to extreme weather, finding food sources, and grappling with unfamiliar terrain and dangerous wildlife. The final participant standing wins $250,000.
 
Tonight is the series premiere of We are Newcastle United on Amazon at 12:01AM/11:01PMc. The series will delve into Newcastle United’s storied history at the heart of one of the world’s great football cities and will explore the club’s unique bond with its passionate supporters as they follow their team in a season that has already defied expectations.

Overnight was the premiere of the feature film Love in Taipei on Paramount+. In the upcoming film and the novel it’s based on, a young American woman is sent by her parents to a cultural immersion program in Taipei–inspired by an actual program attended by thousands of Chinese and Taiwanese diaspora youth–where she begins a new journey of self-discovery and romance. It stars Ashley Liao (Fresh Off the Boat, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) as Ever Wong, whose summer takes an unexpected turn. Ever is surprised to discover that she wasn’t signed up for homework and history lessons, but instead for a summer-long free-for-all the locals and other students call “Loveboat.” It quickly lives up to its name when Ever finds herself trying not to fall for two attractive but wildly different boys who are vying for her attention, while at the same time finding the courage to defy her parents’ high expectations and pursue her true passion: dancing. In addition to Ashley Liao, the movie also stars Ross Butler (Shazam! Overnight was the premiere of the feature film Below Deck Deceit on Tubi. A young and eager steward on a yacht finds herself in the middle of a murder mystery when a pop star goes overboard and drowns.
 
Tonight is the Hulu special Sound of the Police at 12:01AM/11:01PMc. The Hulu Original examines the fraught relationship between African Americans and the police, often rife with tension, fear, suspicion and hostility on all sides. Framed by some of the most recent conflicts between Black Americans and police officers, which garnered national media attention, the film traces the country’s complex racial history that set the path for policing in Black communities and fuels the ongoing conflict between African American communities and law enforcement. From the origins of the first police forces in the South during slavery to the mob violence that erupted against African Americans in the North after the great migration to the more recent high-profile cases forever etched in America’s collective consciousness, Sound of the Police tells the story of a troubled, complex and volatile relationship and exactly how the country got here. The documentary also looks at contemporary efforts to confront and resolve that conflict.
 
Tonight is the premiere of the feature film Red, White & Royal Blue on Amazon at 12:01AM/11:01PMc. Alex Claremont-Diaz (Taylor Zakhar Perez), the son of the first woman President of the United States (Uma Thurman), and Britain’s Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine) have a lot in common: stunning good looks, undeniable charisma, international popularity…and a total disdain for each other.       Hi. Because Futurama airs at 12:01AM ET, the majority of the US is able to view it on Sunday night, so I include it on Sunday’s schedule, not Monday’s. I do that with everything that airs before 3:00 AM ET. 🙂 I’ve done it that way since I started the site back in 2007.
