Tonight is the series premiere of Fellow Travelers on Showtime at 9/8c. Based on the novel by Thomas Mallon, Fellow Travelers is an epic love story and political thriller, chronicling the volatile romance of two very different men who meet in McCarthy-era Washington. Matt Bomer plays handsome, charismatic Hawkins Fuller, who maintains a financially rewarding, behind-the scenes career in politics. Hawkins avoids emotional entanglements – until he meets Tim Laughlin (Jonathan Bailey), a young man brimming with idealism and religious faith. They begin a romance just as Joseph McCarthy and Roy Cohn declare war on “subversives and sexual deviants,” initiating one of the darkest periods in 20th-century American history. Over the course of four decades, we follow our five main characters — Hawk, Tim, Marcus (Jelani Alladin), Lucy (Allison Williams), and Frankie (Noah J. Ricketts) – as they cross paths through the Vietnam War protests of the 1960s, the drug-fueled disco hedonism of the 1970s, and the AIDS crisis of the 1980s, while facing obstacles in the world and in themselves.

Tonight is the 128-minute series premiere of The Garden: Commune or Cult on Discovery Channel at 9/8c. On 22 acres of backcountry land in the American South lies The Garden – a community that lives by its own laws, free from the pressures of modern society. They maintain an open-door policy to anyone seeking to join their ranks, but new people must submit to an initiation period. Some barely last a week, others are forced to leave, and a chosen few will call The Garden home for good. Questions continue to arise about the cult-like vibes of the controversial community, but this spring is different. Cameras have been granted unprecedented access to The Garden, documenting its spread to new locations deep in the Ozarks. Founded as a cooperative, “leaderless” community, The Garden could be viewed as a post-apocalyptic wonderland free of societal rules. However, when potential members arrive, they quickly realize there’s more than meets the eye. New initiates include Tyler, a veteran and self-described doomsday prepper; Tisheila, a truck driver survivalist; “Oak,” who wants to toughen up after years behind a desk; and Jessica, a former cheerleader looking to reconnect with nature. These newcomers have ten days to prove to The Garden that they have what it takes to be part of the community. Did they join a commune working towards a sustainable, off-grid way of life? Or have they just surrounded themselves with members of a mind-controlling cult?

Overnight was the complete limited series premiere of Mayflies on Acorn TV. Adapted for TV from Andrew O’Hagan’s bestselling and award-winning “Mayflies: A Novel,” the limited series stars Martin Compston, Tony Curran, Ashley Jensen, Tracy Ifeachor, Rian Gordon, and Tom Glynn-Carney. A memorial to youth’s euphoria and to everyday tragedy, Mayflies tells the story of a tender goodbye to an old union, while discovering joy and the costs of love. Thirty years since they first met and bonded over music, films, and the rebel spirit in the small Scottish town of their birth, successful writer Jimmy Collins (Compston) receives devastating news and a shocking request from best friend Tully Dawson (Curran). Tully wants to take control of his terminal cancer diagnosis and end his life by assisted suicide in Switzerland, and he wants Jimmy to help. As Jimmy wrestles with this life-changing moral dilemma, the two men reflect on their friendship and the course of their lives, reminiscing about a magical teenage weekend in Manchester where they made a vow – to go at life differently. Theirs is a friendship nurtured over the years and miles, bonded by a history of youthful glories, a passion for culture and a fierce determination not to end up like their fathers. But now, they must face the ultimate expression of their vow, testing their friendship, love, and loyalty to the limit. Jensen stars as Anna, Tully’s girlfriend turned wife, Ifeachor as Jimmy’s wife Iona, Gordon as young Jimmy, and Glynn-Carney as young Tully in the poignant series.

Tonight is the series premiere of Planet Earth III on AMC+ & BBC America at 8/7c. Across 8 episodes, plus a “Making Of” special, Planet Earth III travels to new, previously unseen locations to explore stunning landscapes and tell extraordinary stories that are dramatic, thrilling, sometimes funny, sometimes heart-breaking, but always full of hope. Each episode showcases new behaviors, pristine environments, and the remarkable strategies that animals have developed to survive. The natural world has changed more over the past few decades than ever before, and this change has been felt right across every ecosystem and by the countless creatures that we share this planet with. We’ve now reached a critical point in our planet’s history and Planet Earth III features stories and animal characters which reflect the new challenges that wildlife faces in our modern, crowded world. While still retaining the awe, beauty, and warm accessible tone of its predecessors, the series brings a new, important insight into our increasingly fragile natural world by revealing the deep interconnectivity of all life on Earth. The final episode will feature the efforts to protect and preserve the wildlife and the critically important ecosystems of Planet Earth. Sir David Attenborough narrates.
