The film is inspired by the real-life Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at New York’s Sing Sing Correctional Facility. A notable aspect of the production was the casting of real-life formerly incarcerated individuals, many of whom were alumni of the RTA program. Domingo’s co-stars include Sean San José and Paul Raci, among others.
