Overnight was the series premiere of Saturday Night Live UK on Peacock. The British version of the series premieres on Saturday, March 21 on SKY One and NOW in the UK. The 11-person inaugural cast is an eclectic mix of theatre actors, stand-up comedians, or some hybrid of both: Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, & Paddy Young. This weeks’ host is Tina Fey with musical guest Wet Leg.

Tonight is the 2-hour series premiere of The Faithful on FOX at 8/7c. (Some places list this as The Faithful: Women of the Bible–even FOX’s image header for the series. *shrug*) The limited series is inspired by the best-selling book of all time, the Bible, and showcases a faithful dramatization of the Book of Genesis as told through the eyes of the courageous and passionate, yet flawed women whose descendants would shape the future of faith as we know it today. Dimensional, dramatic, intimate, even surprising, The Faithful is about discovering and losing love, the challenges of marriage, the joys and heartbreak of children, confronting temptation, and finding faith. Episodes will be told through the lens of five of The Old Testament’s most legendary women: Sarah (Minnie Driver) and her maidservant Hagar (Natacha Karam), Sarah’s great-niece Rebekah (Alexa Davalos), and Rebekah’s nieces, sisters Leah (Millie Brady) and Rachel (Blu Hunt). The series also stars Jeffrey Donovan, Tom Mison, Tom Payne, Ben Robson, James Purefoy, Taylor Napier, and Will Stevens.

Tonight is the series premiere of Standoff: The FBI, Power and Paranoia on CNN at 9/8c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10/9c. The series will examine the fragile, high-risk relationship between FBI Directors and the Presidents they serve, spotlighting the moments when that balance is pushed to the brink.

Tonight is the series premiere of The Forsytes on PBS at 9/8c. Desire, ambition and betrayal simmer at the heart of the sumptuous costume drama, The Forsytes. The series chronicles the trials and triumphs of a wealthy Victorian stockbroking family, whose generations find themselves torn between tradition and the personal pursuit of happiness. Inspired by John Galsworthy’s celebrated Forsyte Saga novels, The Forsytes portrays events that take place before those covered in Galsworthy’s books. The stellar ensemble cast includes Francesca Annis, Stephen Moyer, Danny Griffin, Tuppence Middleton, Eleanor Tomlinson, Jack Davenport, Joshua Orpin, Millie Gibson, Tom Durant-Pritchard, Josette Simon, Jamie Flatters, Owen Igiehon, & Susan Hampshire.

Tonight is the series premiere of The Count of Monte Cristo on PBS at 10/9c. This is a lushly lensed adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ iconic masterpiece. In the epic series directed by two-time Palme d’Or and Oscar(R)-winner Bille August, Sam Claflin stars as Edmond Dantes, a nineteen-year-old sailor who was falsely accused of treason and is imprisoned without trial in the Château d’If, a grim island fortress off Marseille, France. After many years of captivity, Dantes finally escapes and discovers treasure, making him one of the richest men in the world. Under the identity of the Count of Monte Cristo, he plans to take revenge on those who wrongly accused him. Ana Girardot and Jeremy Irons also star.
