Jenny’s Choice

Things are crazy heated right now on SEAL Team going into tonight’s fall finale. Last week began moments after the week ended, with the team scrambling after being surrounded by the bad guys, who shot off a rocket into one of their vehicles. They were able to grab their previous target, Lazo, and eventually took cover at a local church, tying up the priest in case he was in the with cartel (turns out he wasn’t) and patching up Lazo, who’d been shot. They and the others quickly realized they’d been set up and that someone from the inside was feeding information to Doza. Turns out they were right. The guys thought it was Martinez (who later succumbed to his injuries), but turned out to be Rita, Mandy’s Mexican counterpoint. Apparently Doza had captured her sister and nieces. Thankfully, although who knows why, but she left Mandy there alive at Carla Reyes’s place before she disappeared. Lazo had been asking for his last rites, but Jason refused until he gave up info on Doza’s whereabouts. Just as the rest of the bad guys arrived and began shooting up the church from outside, Lazo caved and gave up the intel, but before the priest could administer them, Lazo died. And just before Jason and the guys were overtaken, Blackburn and the others arrived and shot them, saving the team’s hides.

So now the guys have to get to the place Lazo spilled about Doza’s whereabouts. Maybe then finally this story line will be wrapped. I’ve liked some of it, disliked some, but I’m ready to move on. Hopefully when the show comes back after the break, enough time will have passed that Jason is healing from Alana’s death and not as cranky and things between him and the team and him and Mandy are back to normal. All the bickering and biting and questioning of decisions is getting old really fast!

On tonight’s episode, “Prisoner’s Dilemma,” the hunt for Andres Doza comes to a head when the SEAL Team makes one last ditch effort to find and capture the leader of one of the most powerful and lethal drug cartels in Mexico.
