Saturday on TV – 9/26/20 **UPDATED**

Saturday is the series premiere of Magical Girl Friendship Squad on Syfy at 12AM/11PMc. When a little red panda named Nut (Ana Gasteyer, Suburgatory, Grease: Live, Saturday Night Live) arrives in the apartment of two directionless twenty-somethings and gives them the ability to transform into badass magical girls, Alex (Quinta Brunson, The End of the World As We Know It, Jazor Wulf) and Daisy (Anna Akana) are forced to get their shit together in order to save the Universe from otherworldly threats. Through a journey of love and friendship and with the help of their magical objects (birth control and a bong), Alex and Daisy learn to wield their new powers and protect their mysterious panda friend who claims to be the creator of the Universe. It also stars Christine Baranski (The Good Wife, The Good Fight), Daisy Hobbs, Eric Bauza, Helen Hong, Jamie Loftus, Jason Mantzoukas (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Invincible), Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Matteo Lane, Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds, Grandfathered, Down Dog), Patti Harrison, Sarah “Squirm” Sherman, Stephanie Sheh, Taylor Ortega (Kim Possible, This Country), & Vella Lovell (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Mr. Mayor).

Tonight is also the series premiere of Wild Life on Syfy at 12:15AM/11:15PMc. This is a comedy about a gang of zoo animal friends hanging out after the apocalypse. There’s the pacifist cheetah Glenn (John Reynolds), bubbly dolphin Marny (Claudia O’Doherty), hyper fox Hudson (Baron Vaughn, Canned, Fairly Legal, Grace and Frankie), psychedelic koala Darby (Reggie Watts, Taskmaster, Comedy Bang! Bang!, Bad Advice from My Brother), self-care loving panda Debbie (SkittLeZ Ortiz) and energy drink-guzzling sloth Viv (Natalie Palamides). Together, they come up with elaborate schemes to entertain themselves and just keep from going insane. From taking trips to a mutant-infested mall for hood ornaments to stumbling upon an old broadcast studio and creating their own shows, these critters are always up to something.

Tonight is also the TV movie Love at Look Lodge on Hallmark at 9/8c. Lily (Clark Backo), an activities director at a cozy mountain hotel, is tasked with helping a handsome workaholic, Noah (Jonathan Keltz), finish planning his sister’s wedding. Determined to make the wedding a success, Lily spends quality time with Noah in order to show him what really matters in life — LOVE!

Saturday on TV – 9/19/20

Saturday is a 1-hour Alaska 911 special on A&E at 2/1c. Chronicles the astonishing stories of perilous journeys, harrowing adventures and life-or-death emergencies that are the cold realities of life on America’s last frontier.

Tonight is also the 2-hour Jimi Hendrix: A Perfect Murder? special on A&E at 8/7c. The life and death of Jimi Hendrix.

Finally, tonight is the TV movie Love at Daisy Hills on Hallmark at 9/8c. When Jo (Cindy Busby) realizes that her family’s general store in Daisy Hills (built by her late mother) is losing money, her father Duke calls in a favor to help out the store. Unfortunately, Duke’s help is Jo’s ex-boyfriend, Blake (Marshall Williams), former Daisy Hills native-turned-New York business consultant. They argue over the approach to saving the store: Jo understands the personal touch needed for a small town while Blake focuses more on how to make a profit. Eventually, they reach a compromise and find themselves falling back in love. But when Blake gets a call about his dream job back in New York City, things start to fall apart again, forcing Jo and Blake to make a decision about their future.

Saturday on TV – 9/12/20

Saturday is the season finale of Love & Marriage: Huntsville on OWN at 8/7c, a new episode followed by the season finale of Black Love on OWN at 9/8c & 10/9c, and the season finale of Hotel Paranormal on Travel Channel at 10/9c.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Help! I Wrecked My House on HGTV at 8/7c. Jasmine Roth rescues homeowners who took on major DIYs and are living without bathrooms, kitchens and bedrooms due to issues they can’t fix. Jasmine and her team help finish the problematic projects and turn mishaps into dream spaces in record time.

Following that is the season premiere of Hidden Potential on HGTV at 9/8c.

Tonight is the TV premiere of Coastal Elites on HBO at 8/7c. The comedic satire tells contemporary stories of characters breaking down and breaking through as they grapple with politics, culture, and the pandemic. Bette Midler, Kaitlyn Dever (Unbelievable, Booksmart), Dan Levy (Schitt’s Creek), Sarah Paulson (American Crime Story), and Issa Rae (Insecure) star in this special presentation that explores our current world of deeply divided politics and the universal pursuit of human connection. Originally conceived for the Public Theater in New York, Coastal Elites took the leap from the stage to the screen at the beginning of the pandemic and evolved in real time as the unprecedented events of 2020 unfolded. Filming took place earlier this summer under quarantine guidelines. The movie spotlights five distinct and impassioned points-of-view across the United States. When the shutdown forces these characters to cope in isolation, they react with frustration, hilarity and introspection.

Finally, tonight is the 2-hour Lucille Ball: We Love Lucy special on Reelz at 8/7c. The trail-blazing life of Lucille Ball.

The true, inspiring and unbelievable story of Steve Pemberton (Terrell Ransom, Jr.), an orphaned boy who endures the abuse of his foster parents (Kelly Owens, Lawrence-Hilton Jacobs) and siblings. While searching for his biological family, he meets a caring teacher (Tom Sizemore) who will change the course of his life.
