If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/3/16

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice

thewalkingdead43smallTonight, the sixth season of AMC’s The Walking Dead comes to a close with a special 90-minute finale, and it’s likely that one or more major character isn’t going to survive the night. Last week, Carol ran off in the middle of the night and ended up crossing paths with another group of Negan’s men. She was able to escape thanks to putting on her downtrodden weak persona…and the fact that she had a hidden machine gun she had sewn into the sleeve of her jacket. Meanwhile, when the rest of the group learned about Carol’s disappearance, they split up into search parties, while Daryl headed off on his own to find and kill Dwight. Rick and Morgan thought they were tracking Carol, but it ended up just being a walker that resembled her, so they headed back to Alexandria, where Maggie (with a new short haircut) started having extreme stomach pains. Elsewhere, Dwight managed to capture Glenn and Michonne and used them as bait to set a trap for Daryl, which worked. The episode ended with Dwight shooting Daryl and the camera view getting covered in blood. Is Daryl dead?!

I think it’s highly unlikely that Daryl is actually dead (yet) and that all that blood we saw was from some sort of shoulder wound rather than a head shot. However, that still doesn’t put our gang out of danger! Will Dwight take his captives to Negan? Will be finally see Negan, and if so, what’s his style of justice like? Also, what happened to Carol after she got away? Is Maggie in labor, or is she losing the baby? And is her situation life-threatening? It should be an exciting night, and I’m just hoping all of my favorite characters survive!

On tonight’s finale, “Last Day on Earth,” Rick and the group must go outside the walls to save one of their own, but what they experience on the road will change their lives forever.

Find out who lives or dies tonight on AMC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Family, Quantico, The Carmichael Show, The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, The Last Man on Earth, Talking Dead, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

Saturday on TV – 4/2/16

Saturday is the series premiere of Deadly Possessions on Travel Channel at 9/8c. Zak Bagans is fulfilling a lifelong dream of opening a museum in downtown Las Vegas, full of the haunted, cursed objects he has been collecting through the years. Each episode features three haunted, iconic items and their owners. They share stories of how these objects have terrorized them and, in some cases, even killed people. Bagans interviews the owners and works with them to get to the root of their “attachment,” so they can free themselves…or at least escape harm from these “deadly possessions.” Items featured in the series include the Dibbuk box, the most haunted object in the world; Robert, the killer doll that inspired the “Chucky” films; a secret possession implicated in the death of actress Natalie Wood; and more.

Following that is the season premiere of The Dead Files on Travel Channel at 10/9c.

Tonight is also the series premiere of He Shed, She Shed on FYI at 10/9c. People across America are cleverly transforming outdoor sheds into supplemental living areas. From pub-sheds used as man caves and shed-quarters serving as alternative work spaces, to the latest trend of she-sheds designed as female-based sanctuaries – sheds are the latest small space craze. What used to be just a humble garden outbuilding is now fast becoming a way for owners to express creativity and to fill a practical space missing from their traditional home. Each episode follows two homeowners, friends or neighbors in the ultimate male vs. female backyard shed showdown – as they build and design a unique he-shed and she-shed. The series also shows off existing sheds across the country and meets with the owners to learn about their inspiration in creating the unique outdoor space.

Finally, tonight is a new episode of Saturday Night Live on NBC at 11:29/10:29c, with host Peter Dinklage & musical guest Gwen Stefani.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/1/16

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Jenny’s Choice #1

wynonnaearp41smallThere’s a new show starting tonight on Syfy that could either be fun or really ridiculous. I’m hoping for the first. And it may seem like an April Fools’ Day prank, but it isn’t… Wynonna Earp follows Wyatt Earp’s great-granddaughter as she battles demons and other creatures. After years away, Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano, Damien, The Listener, Being Erica) has traveled back to her home town of Purgatory to reluctantly take on the role destined for Wyatt Earp’s heir: Demon protector. Her enemy: Revenants, the resurrected (and twisted) souls of the criminals Wyatt Earp once took down. Working alongside Wynonna is her sister Waverely (Dominique Provost-Chalkley), who has an obsession with their family’s legacy and is more than a little bitter that she wasn’t chosen as the heir to take over the family business; associate Agent Dolls (Shamier Anderson, The Next Step), an all-business straight shooter; and Wyatt’s cursed-with-immortality-best-friend Doc Holliday (Tim Rozon, Schitt’s Creek, Being Human, Lost Girl, Instant Star), a man with a thirst for revenge and on a mission to rectify the past. They must try to stop the Revenants from taking over the town – and escaping into the world.

Like I said, this could be a lot of fun or just silly enough to be stupid. But the premise is interesting, so it’s worth a shot to figure out if you’ll enjoy it or not!

On tonight’s episode, “Purgatory,” on her 27th birthday, Wynonna Earp reluctantly returns home to take on her family’s legendary curse.

Meet Wynonna and the rest of the Revenant-hunting gang tonight on Syfy at 10/9c.
